But the only way to do that is for my particles to convert to the highly unstable Chad quark, which can then interact with bitches boson. This transformation requires a particle accelerator
You stupd idiot!!!111
The vast majority (>99%) of the mass of ordinary matter comes from the binding energy of the composite particles, not the particles themselves
> The Higgs boson does not technically give other particles mass. More precisely, the particle is a quantized manifestation of a field (the Higgs field) that generates mass through its interaction with other particles.
> The more strongly a particle interacts with the Higgs field, the more massive it is. It’s important to note, however, that most of the mass in composite particles, like protons, nuclei, and atoms, does not come from the Higgs mechanism, but from the binding energy that holds these particles together.

They really fooled themselves here
One thing still bothers me. Why not use Newton for weight? I thought pound is used for mass?
Edit: Sorry I’m not American/Canadian/British and know nothing about the Imperial unit.
The reason is the original is an unfunny Facebook post

Discovering a way to manipulate the Higgs field will be one of the greatest achievements of mankind in terms of mobility. Imagine if you could make a container ship full of goods weigh less than 20 lbs. you could strap a jet to it and fly it from Shenzhen to San Diego in hours. Imaging making a spacecraft weightless. You could literally float it up to the edge of the atmosphere before using a single drop of fuel. How about making a car with occupants weigh less than a drone. Jetsons cars baby! And don’t forget it could work backwards too. You want the space station to have gravity? Boom! You got it!
Most likely everything inside the changed field would fall apart an everybody inside would die. Life is very sensitive to changes of fundamental constants. This wouldn't revolutionise transportation, this would create another weapon.

Why such a lack of vision? A solution to that problem is fairly simple depending on how far the Higgs field can be manipulated. If you can take it negative would be ideal. You would have an isolated container where the Higgs field would be adjustable. Think like a flat cell at the bottom of a car (or maybe at the top) filled with some material determined to be optimal for this. And the controller of the cell could turn the Higgs up or down as needed. And going negative essentially means anti-gravity. You can go negative by the same weight as the car and it’s occupants making the net weight zero. The car should float.

Great, I want to die.
How about you start interacting with some bitches instead
We’re in the wrong standard model. My particles don’t interact with the bitches field
the secret is to make the bitches field interact with your particles
But the only way to do that is for my particles to convert to the highly unstable Chad quark, which can then interact with bitches boson. This transformation requires a particle accelerator
or to poison people and buy up all the antidote some folks say it's illegal, but on the other hand it really is
> My particles C'mon, your balls aren't *that* small
Isn’t only like 1% of the mass of atoms from the Higgs Mechanism?
Yeah. The Higgs field is what gives elementary particles their mass. An atom mostly gets its mass from binding energy and stuff.
Gluon has entered the chat
Could be, I don't know, my brain stopped interacting with the intelligence field ;(
yeah most of the mass is binding energy but massless particles don't get in bound states so no higgs mechanism -> no mass

You'd be 199 lbs
You'd be 198 you dumb fucking cretin, you fucking fool, absolute fucking buffoon, you bumbling fucking idiot. Fuck you.
There are several bombs embedded in your floor
I would like to apologize

weight measurements are done in natural units where g=1 so pounds/kg becomes a unit of weight ✨
