Well, just a monthly update, nothing fancy.

Does Samsung even fix the bugs and improve the performance of their phones through these monthly updates? Because the A55 came with very buggy OS out of the box.

I haven't encountered any bugs since I bought mine. Already updated it twice. Mine was smooth so far. These monthly update wouldn't do major update unless they announced that they will add something or if the previous updates does not resolve the bugs or if issues arises.

I'm very keen at spotting bugs and quirks since I came from iOS and used to beta test early iOS releases. 1. On A55 when I toggle dark mode on and off, sometimes the app folder icon color doesn't follow and get stuck at light mode. 2.When swiping up from the homescreen to get to the app screen then quickly scrolling right to get to the next page, the display often times registers that as a click rather than a swipe resulting to unintentional opening whatever app is touched by my finger. I have to pause a second before swiping right in order to avoid that misclick. 3. The swipe from the bottom to switch open apps is also not as responsive as on iOS. 4. When creating a custom keyboard or editing and saving the preset keyboards using Keys Cafe Good Lock module, the created keyboards lose the beautiful 3D drop shadow effect. They all look 2D flat and ugly. 5. The phone doesn't show battery level for each Galaxy Bud unlike iPhone does for Airpods. 6. There's a shortcut to a third-party app on my homescreen that is greyed out and cannot be deleted, hidden or disabled. It's just there and I have no way of getting rid of it. 7. Maybe not Samsung's fault but Google's At a Glance widget cannot be resized to expand and is basically useless. 8. Animations are jittery on 60Hz. On my old 60Hz iPhone, animations are smooth even on Low Power Mode.

That’s why i returned my A55. I had also lot of stutter and frame drops. Touch id didn’t work 90% of the time i also found a discussion for it about that issue, you can read it here https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Other-Mobile-Devices/Galaxy-A55-5G-Fingerprint-Sensor-Issues/td-p/2843033/page/3 Also face id sucks on A55 need to be like in front of your face and with enough lighting to work or else fail so security biometrics are really bad on A55! Now im back on my trusty iPhone.
