Fuck this pic is making me wanna slice from there so badly lol

AnarkeezTW

I know I'm sorry 😭

RockstarAgent

Wait, what the heck- you post something this delicious but it doesn’t exist?????? Cruel is too nice a word. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)

magnolias_n_peonies

Two Saucy Broads just down the street from Angelo and Vinci's has some pretty damn good pizza

AnarkeezTW

Oh man just looked at their yelp page and damn looks like some good pizza. Gonna have to try it for sure. Thank you!

whatever1467

It’s delicious but definitely not *anything* like A&V.

AnarkeezTW

I don't think anything will be like A&V tbh 😭 just looking for something similar haha

Hibbzzz

Fuoco in DTF has some pretty authentic pies

Phrygian_Pioneer6435

Fuocos is insanely good, not NY style; but Neapolitan. It’s authentic, with quality imported ingredients.

SoCalChrisW

Everyone always raves about Two Saucy Broads, but every time I've had it it's not good. At all. I've tried it again a handful of times because people keep raving about it, and every time I've been disappointed.

ScottyCoastal

I agree 💯

RockstarAgent

People can have different ideas of quality - I for one like Costco pizza - but I like to crisp it up a bit when I get home

Dry_Inflation_861

I used to like two saucy broads a lot but recently went back and was very underwhelmed.

Odd_Comfortable495

Two Saucy Broads’s pizza was delicious but the dough was THIN. Taste good but nothing like Angelo’s. Little Tony’s in Placentia is pretty good but expensive

InstaxFilm

Yep; had Two Saucy a few times and each time I felt it was among the worst pizza I’ve had since the dough as thin like you mentioned, and the toppings and grease (much more greasy than others) was just too much so the slices just shriveled up. Veggies seemed slightly undercooked, also the vegan one was the same

Braydee7

Tonys is great - but I always went for the deep dish there.

funhouse83

I'm going to have to try Two Saucy Broads again, I had some delivery to the cigar bar nearby a LONG time ago, and it was crap. Seriously, like Pizza Hut bad. EDIT: A&Vs had a damn good lasagna pizza!

vietbond

I recommend Papa Pizza Pie. A&V had a very distinct dough that was chewy and flavorful. PPP is very close.

AnarkeezTW

Wow just looked at the photos from yelp of their pizza, looks similar to A&Vs! I'll definitely give that a try. Thank you!

Fast-Ebb-2368

Never been there but I'm a native New Yorker and Two Saucy Broads in Fullerton is by far the best pizza I've had out here. Then again, that slice in the picture probably wouldn't have done well back home, so it's ultimately about your own preferences.

2AXP21

Native NYer here too, I like Nonnos out in Chino Hills.

AnarkeezTW

Ha well even if the one in the picture isn't up to your standards my girlfriend will at least appreciate Two Saucy Broads if it's as good as you say since she's used to NY pizza as well. She for one did like the pizza from Angelo's (the picture) she said "it isn't the same by any means but it is good pizza"

Phrygian_Pioneer6435

East coast transplant here, (Philly) imo two saucy broads was OK, but I think way overrated. It doesn’t hold a candle to a real ny style pie.

Infamous-Donkey-6699

I’m a fan of Angelo’s & Vincis but 2 saucy broads is amazing, the pizza, the brews and the garlic knots. It’s just great pizza, side note, just tried Pizza Avenue in Downey! Holy moly, that pizza is deeeelicious.

AnarkeezTW

I'm not finding the place on maps, can you post the link to their site if they have one or their address?

Infamous-Donkey-6699

[avenue pizzeria](https://CheckoutAvenuePizzeriahttps://yelp.to/ERs3YwsN1E)

AnarkeezTW

Weird the link doesn't load but was able to search it up by that name and found it. Thank you! I'll have to give it a try if I'm in that area or next time I'm going to LA

Infamous-Donkey-6699

Good luck on your pizza quest!! I hope you guys enjoy it if you go :)

Infamous-Donkey-6699

Sorry bud, I misspelled it 🫣 link above

fitz2k7

Went to Fullerton High school and ate A&V pizza almost every Friday - the closest thing I could find to it are: Lamp post pizza in Yorba Linda has very similar pizza - crispy pep, gooey cheese, and the right amount of thickness in the crust. Pizzamania in Whittier also very similar. Happy hunting!

UnderstandingLoose48

Pizzamania is dope... spent many a "after game " there more than a decade ago. Good to know they still on the map.. not oc tho.. again. Try cortinas. Good shit man

minico1976

Im an Indian alum too!!! in the early 90s it was $1.50 a slice for us!!! The good ol days....

Caliente_Racer

To those chiming in about "real pizza" from NY, Chicago, etc., did you bother to read the original question, or did you intentionally choose to ignore it?

StrawberryExpress240

I recommend Giovanni's on Euclid and Santa Fe

PalaceJoey

I go to the “Pizza Store” it’s by CHOC

UnderstandingLoose48

Waaat they closed?? I love their pies... but I just bought a large "special combo" from cortinas in anahiem. It's all handmade(so they say. Im inclined to believe em). Fuckin worth the 30$ I think... also it was good as hell the next day cold. I def recommend

Nasheuss

Tony's pizza en placentia might the closest thing to it that I can think of

EveryUsernameInOne

Chicago style deep dish, different animal. Amazing, wonderful pizza, but different. Mamalucas used to be a great new york style pizza, but they got ambitious and over expanded into a café that nosedived the business.

JeffBoyardee69

It’s a shame. John the owner was such a nice guy too. I wish they never expanded

DeepUser-5242

Does Tony do regular pizzas? I thought deep dish was only on the menu

JeffBoyardee69

Yeah they have regular ones. I’ve never tried it though

guiltytim

They got an extra thin crust. I really like it.

[deleted]

pizza d’oro in costa mesa and wise guys pizzeria (orange and yorba linda)

typhoidtimmy

Brooklyn Pizza in Laguna Niguel.

CourtneyDN

Highly recommend The Bowery. Delicious!

Ok_Local_7339

Sucks …. They went out of business. Excellent pizza!

JustGowlden

I recently tried a new place in Anaheim named Mama Roscoe"s. Its very good pizza. I thought the dough, pepperoni and sausage all resembled AV's flavor and doughiness. I really miss AV stuffed crust though.

Particular-Koala1763

Zitos in Anaheim gotta be good they been open for awhile

TheTaxAccountant5150

I think for the style of it being dense and thick cheese. Gondolas in La Mirada or Vinny’s which i think is La Habra or Brea reminds me of them.

ScottyCoastal

Pizza Boy on Ball and State College is pretty good imo.

Beatnik_Soiree

Their Fettuccine Alfredo was insanely delicious.

adamcolestudios

Meatball sub is fiiiire

nomorecorruption12

Mama Cozza Special with extra sauce

TwoEwes

A couple places in LA but I don’t know where to point you to in OC Hollywood: Miceli’s - probably the closest vibe wise. The one on Las Palmas. West Hollywood: The Rainbow (best pepperoni) There are others that escape my brain at the moment.

MonsterTruckCarpool

At first I thought this was a picture of Costco pizza

Long-Lengthiness8175

PRINCE STREET PIZZA

I_have_become_Bruh

I don’t know what that thing is in the photo, but it isn’t pizza. Still, good luck.

AnarkeezTW

I mean hey I'm open to recommendations if you think you know of someplace that has quality pizza per your standards

I_have_become_Bruh

Fair enough. Johnny’s New York Pizza in Irvine is good if you like NY style pizza, thinner, greasy, delicious.

AnarkeezTW

My girlfriends gonna be so happy for this recommendation if she approves (she's from the Tri-state area so she's always been very picky about the pizza out here as it doesn't match NY standards)

I_have_become_Bruh

If she has/finds a better NY slice, please share! I’d be interested in her opinion of Johnny’s as well. I love a good NY slice and recently started taking notes. Will be checking out Two Saucy Broads per the other poster’s recommendation. ETA: My note on Johnny’s is that it reminded me of legitimate NY pizza. 🍕

AnarkeezTW

Will definitely let you know if she finds something better. I already told her we gotta try Two Saucy Broads since that's got two recommendations already. I think we'll try that one first next weekend and Johnnys the weekend after lol Thanks in advance to you and everyone else for the unknowingly date night suggestions hahaha 😂

I_have_become_Bruh

For sure and thanks in advance for sharing. Always a good time trying good pizza on date night! I hope both recommendations deliver! ETA: By deliver, I meant on quality, though I also hope Two Saucy Broads has delivery as well!

ryanipz1

Uh, what does your pizza look like then if not this very standard piece of pizza.

I_have_become_Bruh

I was being a snob. The crust is too thick, though looks light, the dough looks like it might be a bit thick, maybe the cheese too. Too much pepperoni.

[deleted]

Idk you guys don’t know pizza. Mexican? Yes. Italian? No.
