I know some people want to trade Urias but he’s a legit utility guy who hits well off the bench. Those are pretty hard to come by.

The Gold Glove makes people forget that he wasn't really a fixture at 3B last year: 98 games at 3B, 28 at 2B, and 8 at SS.

I don’t think you understand just how deep our infield is about to be. I love Urías but I really don’t see him beating out the additions of Westburg, Ortiz, Norby, Holliday and Mayo. All of with will be up by 2025. As well as Henderson, Mateo and Mountcastle already here.

I completely understand how deep the infield depth is. I also tend to think a lot of Orioles fans over value those prospects and are *very* optimistic by how many will actually pan out. I’m not even saying Urias should be a starter. But I’d frankly would rather keep him as a utility guy and trade some of these prospects for pitching.

I’d rather use him to get starting pitching. If his stock is high the biggest thing holding us back from being legitimate contenders is starting pitching. Even if those prospects are overvalued, I don’t know that’s even the right word here, the likelihood that all of them miss is extremely unlikely and all of them have a higher ceiling than Urias. He’s great but he’s not worth risking losing a high ceiling prospect when we need to trade for starting pitching.

Using your own argument, you’d get a better starting pitcher with the higher ceiling prospects than Urias.

But I’d rather sell a high stock player like Urías with other lower tier prospects than give up our best prospects not know which ones will be stars. I’m happy to trade pretty much anyone out of the top 15 of our prospects but the main guys I don’t want to lose are Holliday, Norby, Ortiz, Westburg, Kjerstad and Cowser.

If you’re upset about swing / didn’t swing choices within an AB or even a game you’re a quintessential Monday morning quarterback. Batting at a MLB level is hard. Accept that sometimes the pitcher wins and focus on long term trends.
