It is deadly and has the same classes and races. Other than that it is built on the d20 system's core, but does away with all the bullshit that drag it down, and instead introduces its own mechanics, which turn things up to eleven - level 0 character funnel, mighty deeds for warriors, burning luck, corruption, spellburning, spell charts, patrons for wizards, critical and fumble charts, and so on. It's my favorite system. My longest running campaign is/was DCC. Longer than any D&D campaign I've been in, even AD&D. It's a vibe. You should see the zines it inspires, predates all the "art-punk" you're seeing today. Flammable Hospital, Hobonomicon, Black Sun Deathcrawl, Metal God's of Ur Hadad.
When I was at the shop to get Rifts I noticed a bunch of DCC/MCC RPG stuff that makes me think of all the varied content you could find in Dragon Magazine, especially in the April editions.

Cannot disagree, though the full spread of funky dice are not for everyone.
Dcc is my favorite system, definitely try it
Yeah. Any questions?
I just took a look at one of their character sheets and it looks, refreshingly, like an ol' Basic D&D sheet.
Is it similar to Basic D&D?

Been playing DCC for several years now and love it. It’s my favorite game to play.
Running an MCC game now. Things can get wild. Plan to not plan anything.
