Looks incredible! What fantastic work! Most toucans, aracaris, and toucanets have colorful skin around their eyes! Conch snails, scallops, four-eyed fish, mexican mole lizards, and ganges river dolphins also have strange ones. Tokay geckos around bright light do too! Victoria crowned pigeons, red eyed tree frogs, amazon milk frogs, red eared slider turtles, crocodile fish, most chameleons... If you happen to have a list of the critters you've already done, it would help me see what's missing if that makes sense. Best of luck with the rest of it! I hope you sell prints someday because it's simply fascinating!

They probably had it in their phone notes with a top-down list, making commas unnecessary — Reddit is dumb w formatting and it won’t make a top-down list unless you press enter twice, which would be a lot for OP to go through and do for so many animals lol

This is amazing. Just checking to see if there's eye of newt. Founders are neat, two eyes inside of one. Dragon fly or damsel fly eyes are cool. Potatoes. Potatoes have eyes. Black eyed peas? That's all I got. Happy painting 👍

Agreed idk if it was real but I saw one once where the pupils had a curve to them and it made the octopus look like it was smiling and really happy.

Do they have to be vertebrates? Seems like lots of options from inverts. (Gentle nudge from mantis shrimp, play-tackle from jumping spidey, encouraging and totally-not-threatening look from pretty orchid mantis).

Definitely not! Anything from the animal kingdom :) I’ve got mantis shrimp and a jumping spider on there somewhere, adding an orchid mantis to the list

this may seem like a dumb question, but have you tried googling for ideas? i just googled "weird eyes in animals" and found some results you dont seem to have on your list: Mossy New Caledonian gecko, bigfin reef squid, Atlantic nurse shark, Four-eyed fish, Wood louse spider, Indian elephant, Tokay gecko, Crocodile fish, Tarsier, fiddler crab, jumping spider, Leaf-tailed gecko, Chitons, **black-necked grebe**, Shortfin Lionfish, Choutengan Celestial Goldfish, Tufted Puffin, Great Cormorant, Mandarinfish, butterfly, Crested Couca, axolotl. dont forget human.

Google has been incredibly helpful so far yeah, as well as everyone I know giving me all their ideas. Don’t think I’d be able to come up with this many on my own. This is a great selection though! Definitely adding some to my list :) thanks

I read through your list and did not retain it well. Sorry if these are on there: paper wasp, grasshopper striped eye, blue spotted stingray, llama, anolis lizard, porcupine fish, rockfish, a googly eye for humor, Zeus that famous blind owl with galaxy eyes, obviously..the eye of the tiger. It’s a really amazing painting.

Mantis shrimp. With 16 different color detecting cones compared to the three humans have, it sees more colors than any other animal on the planet. What about a "Mirror Image" for the other half? Use a mirror image of that half above and just flip it to the other side.
