Hours are 7-7 Monday through Friday, and 8-3 on Saturdays. I’m the parts manager and work 8-5ish through the week and a Saturday here and there, mostly use Saturdays to get caught up on training or admin stuff I missed during the week.
I have three counter guys that work shifts, one opens and works 7-5, the mid shift dude is 8-6, and my closer is 9-7.
Honda in Pennsylvania. M-F 8-4:30. Though a couple years back we were bought out and I imagine this'll change at some point. We're very small though so we're hoping it doesn't.
7-5 and 8-3 every other Saturday.
There are only two counter people in my department so we rotate 3 day weekends. I'm mon-sat this week and I'll only be mon-thur next.
We open at 7:30 and close at 5:30 Monday through Friday, but I work 6:30-5 and my coworker does 8-5:30. We switch off every other Saturday. Whoever is working Saturday takes Wednesday off. Saturday we're open 7:30-3, but it's generally so slow parts leaves between 2-2:30.
We have a third coworker that works 6am-5pm but she's only here Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
I'm salary, so I realistically don't need to come in until 7:30, but I choose to come in at 6:15/6:30 to check the order in without being bothered by techs looking for parts they've been told 10x already won't be in until later in the day.
Try 6:45am and it would be pretty accurate. Also, make sure while you're interrupting whatever we're doing you let us know that you KNOW they won't be in yet, but just wanted to check.
Parts Manager at a small GM dealer in Louisiana, I work 7:30-5 M-F, and were open 8-12 the first and third Saturday of the month. Me; the service manager, and technically the body shop manager are all supposed to rotate who works Saturdays; but it’s now become me and the service manager alternating Saturdays.
Most of the guys here do M-F, with varied schedules going from 5-2 (stock), 7-4, 8-5, and 9-6. Most people do 1 Saturday a month, working from 8-4. I have the weird schedule that's T-S so I'm always here on Saturdays. I personally don't mind it since there's no traffic at all on Saturdays. BMW dealer in the Phoenix metro area.
7-4 monday through friday, every other saturday 8-2. the week after i work a saturday i get to pick any day off during the week. highline dealer in florida.
8-5 M-F. No Saturdays except for the uber rare time our Saturday guy is off/sick. Even when it’s Saturday, we are dead, maybe have one or two appointments and one or two retail visits, and it’s 8-12.
Used to work at a dealer where it was 7-5 M-F and every other Saturday. It eventually went to every third Saturday, but that still sucked.
Currently work every Saturday with alternating Monday and Wednesday off.
We just hired a new guy and he’s going to take this schedule and I’m going Monday thru Friday to do wholesale.
First time having weekends off in my whole parts career, I genuinely can’t wait.
Edit: 8-5 with 10-7 on the alternating M and W, going to 8-5 M-F
Toyota dealer in AZ. Service and Parts are open 7A-8P Mon-Thurs, 7A-6P on Friday, and 7A-4P on Saturdays, closed Sundays. I typically go in from 7A-5P five days a week. There’s only one week where I would work six days ranging from Monday-Saturday; and I would have the following Friday scheduled off (on top of *that* Saturday and Sunday off).
Edited for clarity.
We're open 8-6 M-F and 8-4 on Saturday. We've got 2 full-time counter people who alternate between 8-5 and 8-6 depending on the week. One full-time shipping and receiving/backup parts counterman who does 7:30-2:30. One part-time retail counter/core and warranty clerk who does 7:30-12:30. The parts manager is 8-5:30-ish.
Saturdays are split into two-person teams, with the backup counterman and the parts manager backing the full timers. One person works the counter the full day, the other comes in to check in the order and then leaves when that's done. Whoever works the full day gets a day off during the week. Next time your team is up, the roles flip.
