It looks like in your previous setup no airflow was going through the case at all. Yes airflow is important, but even a pack of 3 very cheap Thermalright fans at $15 would do the job. You don't have to spend "a pretty sum" to have good airflow. This feels like an ad post for Arctic tbh.
The old setup was a corsair 120mm in the back as an outtake, and two 140mm in the front as intake.The 120mm had dozed down to 900rpm at max speed, and the two 140mm front went up and down from 1000-1250rpm
And yes, you don't need this many fans, they were just so cheap and speedy, and i thought it would be dope to utilize the space on the new case.
Was originally thinking of buying the Thermalright TL-C12C 120mm fans, since i also got the Peerless Assassin 120 SE cpu cooler at a discount, but as said, i just thought 10 fans would be cool hah!
And for the "pretty penny" statement, it was stated towards the buying thermal pads and thermal paste, which is (atleast in my country) ridiculously expensive.

For me the secret to good airflow is try to move the air in a as straight as possible line through the case, without any obstruction if applicable.
I also personally find Undervolting another very effective method. My GPU went from 70C to 62C and 240w to 170w with lower noise too, with just half an hour of finding the sweetspot. Have you try it?

Depends; 10 P12s which are highly regarded will run you $60. Meanwhile, quality Thermal pads, in say 3 different sizes, and decent paste that doesn't pump out, will easily cost around $55. The pads I have were even more, but were a specific order. So yeah double the cost per sheet.
It cost me 296USD for the different size sheets (0,5mm, 1mm, 1,5mm, 2mm, 3mm) and thermal paste.
It cost me 90usd for the 10 fans and fan controller.
But happy i have now done both, cus now i know the steps to take apart a gpu, and safely put it back together :)
Never tried undervolting anything, except for Underclocking my GPU the time before i changed out Pads n Paste so it wouldnt be so hot. (after thermal pad change, i clocked it back to factory standard)

Definitely the GPU. Undervolting means finding the sweetspot between electricity pressure (voltage) and how fast the GPU can run (frequency) with good stability. There are a lot of guides out there on Youtube.
My 3070 is running at 30% less wattage at 925mV (meaning less heat, noise and lower electricity bills) while having +105Mhz core and +1000Mhz memory with perfect stability. It does no harms and brings several benefits. The only cost is 1 hour of your time. Definitely worth trying. Personally I think this should be in the diary of every PCMR-er.

P12 Max is really good, like beating Noctua level good. The best part is that it’s also extremely cheap. If you used some random normal fans, the noise would be unendurable.

For example i have a white darkflash ds5000, standard it comes with 4 fans at bottom (intake), a huge ass fan in back (out). I added my 420aio (3xfans) on top (out) and called a day. A bit later i added another pair of fans to side (out) and it shaved another 5c (3090 beign the main heat generator), but i prefered to modify fan control curves to keep the previous temp and lower fans rpm, is almost dead silent now.
Hence the quotation marks hah!
But whats strange , is it wasn't even thermal throttling according to the interwebs. Since its a 3090 and use GDDR6X ram, it was supposedly okay with being at around 100celsius. (?)
But i sure as hell wasn't lol.
i get 10 fans is a lot (fuck it, lets do it type of moment), also not starting by getting better fans is a stupid thing.
But; i didn't know better at the time. You live and you learn.
(Also, i will never go for liquid cooling anything. Much rather clean off dust from surfaces with Iso Alcohol and dust spray, than clean out tubes pumps and resevoirs.)

It's a small waste of money but a non issue. I didn't need my 7900xtx when I had a 3080 already. Most people only need a Suzuki Swift to get around but get an SUV. Getting a few extra fans to try and fix an issue isn't hurting anyone
2x decent 140mm fans to front and 1x 120mm is all people should realistically need. Sure I have only been building PCs for little over a decade now, but having gone through Fractals quiet cases, to super low profile cheese grate cases with 90% of the surface being holes, I can comfortably say, this is the setup that fits like 95% of the cases.
This coupled with right way mounted PSU, Good air cooler on CPU, and properly adjusted GPU fans will make the machine as cool as possible with the fans and then you can mess with reapplying thermal pastes and pads on vram.
.....as much as I am a fan of air cooling, I did like my 780 SLI with double NZXT kraken. That was a cool, quiet and beefy setup for the time until SLI became obsolete. It wasn't even that expensive. Much cheaper than custom watercooling and about same performance.
same i did, i limited the fans to around 60% at 89 celsius on the cpu (It never gets that hot though).
And usually, the fans kick in at 60 celsius (cpu) at 400rpm and scales up from there.
Might be, but i swapped my old out for the APNX C1 and 10 fans. So its gucci.
Don't remember the name to the old case, but it was defo cheap, but dont think it would be any restrictive to airflow? Only the fans were the problem.
I think this is the main issue with gaming laptops nowadays. They easily hit thermal limits. The stated specs are almost meaningless. You have to look at stress tests benchmarks.
UPDATE: i didnt have any screenshots from stress tests.. only idle temp from gpu, which is actually a bit worse.

But when i was in game in Lost Ark, before it was (from what i remember - this is before i underclocked my gpu):
89-92c - Gpu
95-97c - Memory Junction
98-103c - Hot Spot
Now its:
57c - Gpu
63c - Memory Junction
64-67c - Hot Spot
In retrospect, i could have used copper plates (where i could) instead of thermal pads.

I’d say a good airflow is important, but shoveling 10 fans is well into diminishing returns territory.

In running mine with 4 fans. 2 of those for the aio. You just have a shitty case.

not hard at all. Unless temps go bonkerz, they will speed up to 60%, which is set at 2000rpm.
