When you're picking clubs, do NOT pick the drama one. Pick the other option. Or don't, I'm not your dad. I just really hate the drama version of that link.
I've been slowly progressing through the game over the course of a few months and I'm on dungeon 2 (ive been playing p3r more tbh), anyway I'm pretty sure I've been spoiled about a major death and the main villain just from general media which really pisses me off
yeah like actually make sure you hangout with jester or aeon at any time possible. They’re not frequently available, thus why its important. But after you’ve got the jester social link level at 6, you cant increase it anymore, so dont bother with it after. As for the aeon social link, you gotta max it all the way.
In general I think the voice acting quality in this game so far is definitely varying in quality, dojima and Yosuke sound good but chie and teddy sound way too over exaggerated
Rank up jester link till rank 6 quickly (rest happens by story progression after a certain point), max out aeon arcana
use a guide for first week of december and that one day in march
rest you can figure out on your own as you play and ofc, play at your own pace ( your playthrough could be literally anywhere between 40 and 80 hours so have fun)
1. If you're doing social links, prioritize your party members, as they can become insanely busted. Also focus on the Aeon and Jester arcana since they allow you to unlock extra content
2. STAY TF AWAY FROM THE SUBREDDIT
It's recommended you check out a guide once you reach towards the end. You'll know when you get there. The game has a couple different endings so if you want the true one, a guide will be extremely helpful.
I think you will get it, but just in case in as vague terms as I can possibly make it.
If you get to a certain part of the game, get through the part, and a scene happens after, and you think "Wait, that's it?" You did it wrong, and should load.
Yeah already noticed those and luckily got them by complete chance(calling out your teacher, checking on Yosuke and answering the history question right)
Use multiple save slots, saving every 5 days or so (+ or - a couple depending on how you're feeling). Some might say it's overkill but it'll save you in a pinch.
Don't ignore the fox quests, he's quite a useful guy to have levelled up at least a bit.
If you want bonus content then >!max out Marie's social stat!<. Put a spoiler tag even though it's really not a spoiler, but just in case you want to go in almost fully blind.
Also, this is very important, stop looking at this thread. Already tons of people are either commenting spoilers, or giving away major plot points without specifics (which imo, is still a spoiler).
When you hang out with someone. If the text says that you will feel closer to them soon. Go hangout with them. If it doesn’t say that then don’t hang out with them and not waste your day
I played this for the very first time last month. Though I’d played all the major titles before. To me, this is by far the most interesting persona game and I felt like I belonged to the world it created. Friends feel like friends and stuff to do felt like stuff that needed to be done not just random chores. Quests were a bit meh but otherwise the game is absolutely fantastic. Don’t skip scenes, use the Chinese restaurant Aiya for rainy days at the start and have SP recovery from the vending machines once a week and then just enjoy the game without making it needlessly tough for yourself. You can do the obsessive completion on the next run through.
keep all your party members around the same level, switch your settings to more exp whenever you want to grind, abuse shuffle time, buy the damn fishing books, check the fridge everyday, keep in mind choices matter a ton in november, and keep end november a hard deadline for any non party member social link, ensure you complete the aeon social link by december
To up social stats, the rainy day special at Aiya is really helpful. Especially since you can’t do much else on rainy days. (You’ll understand when you start playing)
To immediately start trying to raise your stats because to start one social link at the end of the game you need 2 stats maxed and some ranks on other links need the stat at a certain level
Avoid spoilers like the plague. Unless you’re hard committed to maxing all social links (very doable on a normal run if you know what to do), then just enjoy the ride and take it at your own pace.
Keep multiple save files. Especially when the game tells you that things are going to happen. Also little note at the side: When the Game asks you if you are ready to go home, say no and head to the usual spot one last time
In general always work on lower ranked social links before higher ranked ones, unless you have a character you are just too excited about talking to, in which case just enjoy
Would recommend the community mod for P4 - you'll thank me later
Also social links are important but if you want to prioritise any - always go with Marie (needs maxing out), Adachi (another character that needs maxing out although there's a set amount and you'll be fine) and any of your teammates
You'll also want to raise your social stats too, if you got nothing to do on rainy days go to that one bowl/restaurant shop - you'll get 3 random social stats boosted
Don’t worry about getting everything right on the first run. NG+ makes subsequent playthroughs incredibly fast so any content you miss you can easily get next time.
there are specific answers that you must choose to prevent game overs / bad endings ESPECIALLY late game, when investigating people READ WHAT THEYRE SAYING you can’t skim those parts because you will get lost, fuse black frost, the aeon/jester links are very important to level up, when in doubt use guides but don’t go farther than you need or else you’ll get spoiled
youll meet a character named marie. make sure to max out her social link for an extra dungeon thats pretty much it i hope you enjoy my favorite game of all time!!
1. Have fun
2. If it's hard, remember to fuse personas and grind
3. The end is... Interesting. You might want to have incremental saves and look up a guide after seeing the credits
Slime gets resist phys which is a good skill early on, and your main characters sp count is kind of low so it’s good to mostly use phys skills with him until he gets a few levels under him
Accept every job and work on them at least 3 times. A lot of social links are connected to them ( the tower is aswell so if you want yoshitsune do that one)
If you want more interactions with the main cast do the Marie social link, even if you don’t like her that much as a character there’s a lot of fun interactions with other characters in the story
Make sure to stock up on items when available
Use Tanaka’s home accommodations whenever available as that’s a really good source of gear
be sure to use a guide to SLs and not to read ahead of the current level you are on, Marie (12/22?) and Adachi's (11/01)are very important, since they have a time limit and affect some other stuff. Focusing in your party may also be a good idea, since some onf they get locked by some time during the end of the game
keep multiple saves, especially when fog shrouds a lot
when you go to the >!december dungeon!<, there will be a timeskip to the >!24th, I think!<, and you won't be able to do any SLs in the meantime. I recommend doing on 23, then you don't miss the special event on the next day
always have some money on you during Sunday morning
if you go to junes and call your team, all your members will lose they SL availability that day
try not to look much videos and such, since the algorithm may fuck with you
and remember that every day is great at your Junes!
Other than the Aeon and Jester that others recommended, and leave sub, etc, here are some of my tips from my just completed NG+ run...
1. If you come from other persona games (especially 5), just know that non-party social links don't give you all that much power in 4.
1. Social links don't give combat bonuses other than fusion XP
2. Few (if any) personas use other ultimate personas as ingredient, and most BIS powerful personas such as Yoshitsune, Alice, Trumpeter, Daisoujou etc don't need maxed out SLs.
3. I dare say none of the non-party, non-automatic, time-slot requiring SLs offer any ultimate persona that is actually any useful other than completing your book.
4. Thus for combat bonuses, only your party members are important.
2. Daytime schedule, even on NG+ with maxed stats, is tight. Feel free to not complete all daytime SLs and spread the story into your first playthrough and one NG+.
1. Maybe you can max out the two school clubs (i.e. soccer and drama) on first and max out the other two (basketball and music) as the clubs are mutually exclusive in one playthrough.
2. Other bonuses for combat, such as obtaining difficult to get skill cards from Okina cafe, improving party member stats by watching movies with them, or bike trips with your party members, all requires daytime slots. So more arguments for don't bother with maxing all SL every playthrough.
3. Nighttime schedule is very lenient. Feel free to improve your stats for your first playthrough, or hangout with any available SLs if you think you don't have enough to rank them up the next time you meet.
4. In first playthrough, if you've got nothing to do on rainy days (most SL are typically unavailable during rainy days), feel free to do the rainy mega beefbowl challenge. It's probably the best way to get early social stat progress.
My only advice would be don't rush through the game. Take your time and enjoy a wonderful masterpiece! Really stop and smell the roses you know. That's the best advice I can give anyone. I wish you luck on your journey discovering the truth!
Well the golden ending is an extra ending on top of the true ending. To gain access you need to max Aeon and then make sure you talk to the velvet room attendants in January after the bulk of the main story is finished.
The true ending is actually after that and is annoying because it's easily miss-able. One action is the difference between ending the game and opening up the true final boss. Basically when it's time to say goodbye to your social links DO NOT GO HOME after meeting everyone. The game will give you the option to walk around more. I think it's alluded to in the dialogue what you can do a bit earlier in the game so pay careful attention to the dialogue especially when characters are making plans with you or promises with you. The game expects you to remember without being prompted. That also goes for the murder mystery. Pay close attention to dialogues and information learned so you can solve it.
Also it's not necessary for a true ending but it's a social link available during the day and night so it's convenient to access if you have nothing to do. The jester social link. It also has a cool persona unlock once you max it and I think added to the themes of the game.
Also save often. If you make a mistake that gets you the bad ending you don't want to find out your latest save is from 10s of hours ago
Feeling stuck?? Just tweak the game difficulty to easy mode and experience gain to more.Might be controversial in this community but thats how I like to play it.
Okay so a few things I recommend (these aren’t required to get one specific thing like in P5R, they’re separate stuff):
- Finish the Aeon social link
- Get to at least rank 6 in the Jester social link
- And when you reach the “end” of the game, look up a guide to get the true ending. It’s really easy to miss.
You better dance in the beginning it an unwritten rule but please get of here quickly as possible and if you want to here are all of the social https://hardcoregamer.com/features/persona-4-golden-pc-social-link-guide/380327/ it what I used good luck 🫡
It's an Asus model don't remember its exact specs since I bought it for college work but it can run most games on low to medium quality and old games like persona4 aren't that demanding
Well good luck just don't buy like mine if your hopping to play anything with high quality graphics plus high frame rate, usually your gonna have to drop one of them to the absolute lowest for the other to work
It’s a super fast game to finish so, like Persona 5 says, TAKE YOUR TIME!!!! I played it way too fast and didn’t get to enjoy a lot of the storylines. I plan to do a replay soon.
The only thing you need to know is that if the game ends before you feel like it should, there's probably more to it. Reload your file and try again. Other than that, try your best to not look stuff up. It's shockingly easy to find big spoilers. The game is still amazing if you've already been spoiled, but I wish I had an opportunity to play this game truly blind.
Use multiple saves. Stay away from wikis or sites related to the game. Spoilers are horrible to experience.
Only google how to get the true ending. Good Luck.
Only advice i have is enjoy it while it lasts. Bacause once you are in, there is no getting out. And when its finished, its hard to let go of the fun you had 😭
Honestly? Just play and stay away from the internet, the game has an overwhelming amount of content and it can easily be ruined if you constantly feel the need to look something up. It's not terribly hard, so just have fun and make the choices you want!
You can wait to do the majority of aeon till December as its pretty much the only available social but still work on it earlier and also make sure you have an arcana that matches before hanging out it helps way more than you'd think
Do the club activities and stuff. You’ll miss out on alot of stuff. I wish i could go back to when i first played so i can experience the clubs and stuff for the first time i played

Install the Slim Font mod to prevent eye strain from the default font. P4G is a port of a portable game and it SHOWS
Party member social links give them balance-obliterating abilities such as follow up attacks with guaranteed crits and a chance to insta-heal status ailments. If you've played P5, you may expect other links to give similar passives, but that wasn't a thing yet in this one. You may want to focus on party members early on to get these abilities early.
The game is at it most difficult at the start. You may have to attempt some of the early bosses multiple times, but don't worry -- it gets MUCH easier once you get past that hurdle, not least thanks to those SL abilities.
Go back to the dungeons after you complete them -- including the very first one which only has a cutscene and a boss fight. This will net you a powerful weapon, and with the exception of the first one, a bonus to Courage.
Don’t bother trying to do every social link and side quest on your first playthrough, without a guide you won’t do it.
Also be nice to Nanako, this is not optional.
play it twice, back to back
first time, just do whatever you want and think is right
2nd time, play with a 100% guide so you get the full story from all the side characters etc
and also get off this sub reddit. mute even till you finish because it will show up on your feed even if you don't follow it.
Be sure to take characters in and out of your party. New characters look kind of unimpressive when you first get them because they have less skills than your current party members, but some of the strongest and most fun characters aren't part of the first 3.
go back to each dudgeon after you beat it there's a mini-boss (most are pretty easy) at the top, after you get the devil arcana to rank 4 go to the flood plain every sunday, and just do a [s.link](http://s.link) every day possible
Currently playing right now on my second playthrough..... Ummm ummm have a few saves just in case you missed something or didn't like how something turned out.
Enjoy the fuck out of your first time playing through this amazing gem of a game. Work on your Aeon and Jester social links. Other than that, take no one's advice, and play the way you enjoy playing. There's no wrong way to do it.
To unlock certain social links you have to get sufficiently far with other social links.
Also, forget the gold hands in palaces in your first playthrough.
I’m gonna say this if you feel like your having problems understanding something or there’s a social link you wanna do look up a guide most times there’s no spoilers about what actually happens and they just literally tell what to do and how to do it.

(edit if you have not played or heated the game this is actual spoilers for the game so OP don't look at this please I also changed the the name to redacted)
Get the hell off this subreddit and stay away until you finish the game.
Oh that's part of the plan just putting faith in the members not to nuke this post with spoilers for shits and giggles
Aeon and jester are very important
Which one was aeon again?
marie
Thanks I'm kinda surprised I forgot which one it was 😅
Seconded. You could probably pick any one post on the sub, look in the comments, and be spoiled on the killer’s identity immediately. It’s everywhere.
When you're picking clubs, do NOT pick the drama one. Pick the other option. Or don't, I'm not your dad. I just really hate the drama version of that link.
I've been slowly progressing through the game over the course of a few months and I'm on dungeon 2 (ive been playing p3r more tbh), anyway I'm pretty sure I've been spoiled about a major death and the main villain just from general media which really pisses me off
Agreed
I agree I got a big chunk of spoilers by casually being on Reddit and looking up voice actors. 🥲🥲
That’s funny.
The Aeon social link is an important one to work on
Is that the character name or their tarot card?
Tarot
Thanks
So is jester, also hanged man and death are like the best s links in the game so make sure to do them
yeah like actually make sure you hangout with jester or aeon at any time possible. They’re not frequently available, thus why its important. But after you’ve got the jester social link level at 6, you cant increase it anymore, so dont bother with it after. As for the aeon social link, you gotta max it all the way.

Exactly dude shut up
Get AWAY from this subreddit! Shut off your internet! Those game is a 100 hour epic you only get to experience for the first time ONCE!!!
look up social link availability table and set it as your phone wallpaper
Or tattoo it on your forearm
go to options and put "exp you earn" to more, trust me, saves you boring grinding
I have no idea why someone would not change this setting to make it easier, no clue why it’s even an option in the first place
Challenges or masochists
i personally wanna grind just how the difficulty is intended lmao
I didn't know this was a setting... I think I had it off on my playthrough...
If you think Teddy's voice is annoying in English ***do not*** switch to Japanese, it is so much worse.
In general I think the voice acting quality in this game so far is definitely varying in quality, dojima and Yosuke sound good but chie and teddy sound way too over exaggerated
I love Chie’s voice
Well I’m pretty sure that’s the point
They’re voices are better than they were in vanilla P4 lol
Rank up jester link till rank 6 quickly (rest happens by story progression after a certain point), max out aeon arcana use a guide for first week of december and that one day in march rest you can figure out on your own as you play and ofc, play at your own pace ( your playthrough could be literally anywhere between 40 and 80 hours so have fun)

Eat at the restaurant on rainy days, there's basically nothing else you can do and it raises all your social stats
max aeon SL get jester SL to rank 6 AND DON'T WATCH THIS SUBREDDIT, AND EVEN MEMES JUST TAKE OFF THE INTERNET
Take it easy and enjoy the game experience. and yeah like others said avoid this reddit for spoiler reasons
During the hospital scene with the TV, look up a guide and on the final day look up a guide

Save. Multiple times. Save bro. Cause if you don't, then this game will punish you.

Don't interact with the fandom. Stay away. Enjoy the game
Also do the Aeon social link it's exclusive to persona 4 golden
do NOT LOOK FOR GUIDES THAT PEOPLE CAN REPLY TO. YOU WILL REGRET IT ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. Just be wary of guides, that's how I got spoiled :)

What laptop make do you have?
It's an Asus model don't remember its exact specs since I bought it for college work but it can run most games on low to medium quality and old games like persona4 aren't that demanding
Would you mind messaging me the model?
Processor:AMD Ryzen 5 5500U with Radeon graphics 8gb ram 64 bit programming system X65 processor Windows 11
And it's an HP model not ASUS
Thanks! Much appreciated 😊
You mind telling me why you wanted to know?
Looking into buying a new laptop, mines gone a bit shit
Well good luck just don't buy like mine if your hopping to play anything with high quality graphics plus high frame rate, usually your gonna have to drop one of them to the absolute lowest for the other to work
Max out Adachi
Am I right that you're playing the "old" 32-bit Steam build (not the current 1.05 release)?
Idk I used fitgirl repack persona 4 gold edition
Oh, so this is a pirated version...
You are going to be a chad.
Rainy days are important. They’re a good time to level stats, but only if there are no outstanding… priorities.
Relax, and enjoy the game
It’s a super fast game to finish so, like Persona 5 says, TAKE YOUR TIME!!!! I played it way too fast and didn’t get to enjoy a lot of the storylines. I plan to do a replay soon.
Bros before hoes.
Max Marie’s Social Link as soon as humanly possible!
Don't look up any characters on Google.
Multiple save files, not just one
Do your social links, especially with party members
Keep multiple saves. Persona 4 makes this especially important with a couple areas to miss the true ending, so keeping two saves is always a good idea
Max out social stats asap and fuse a ton of personas every chance you get also have fun because your playing peak
Have Fun
Avoid spoilers like the plague and enjoy the ride.
Stay off of reddit and have fun!!
Don't forget to do all the social link stuff with Marie and Adachi as soon as possible
Use multiple saves. Stay away from wikis or sites related to the game. Spoilers are horrible to experience. Only google how to get the true ending. Good Luck.
GET OFF THE INTERNET!
Only advice i have is enjoy it while it lasts. Bacause once you are in, there is no getting out. And when its finished, its hard to let go of the fun you had 😭
Fuckle up Bucko
Johneawesome, you’re welcome (the 🐐)
Don't be discouraged, this game can be pretty hard early on, not gonna say why or when, but you'll definitely know.
Go sensei you knocked it down
Enjoy the ride 🫡
Nanako is Justice
Prioritize rise AS MUCH As possible she will make the game so much better
Honestly? Just play and stay away from the internet, the game has an overwhelming amount of content and it can easily be ruined if you constantly feel the need to look something up. It's not terribly hard, so just have fun and make the choices you want!
Mashing will ruin your experience
You can wait to do the majority of aeon till December as its pretty much the only available social but still work on it earlier and also make sure you have an arcana that matches before hanging out it helps way more than you'd think
Do drama and basketball. Also study hard for tests and always watch TV on sunday
Be careful of the TV.
Shoot for the true ending and Try to play it as portable as possible (Steam Deck, Switch, PsVita.)
Never forget, using different personas is optional.
Focus Adachi, Marie, Dojima, Nanako social links
I love this game
Do the club activities and stuff. You’ll miss out on alot of stuff. I wish i could go back to when i first played so i can experience the clubs and stuff for the first time i played
https://gamebanana.com/mods/50903 Install the Slim Font mod to prevent eye strain from the default font. P4G is a port of a portable game and it SHOWS Party member social links give them balance-obliterating abilities such as follow up attacks with guaranteed crits and a chance to insta-heal status ailments.
Nice vegetable
Marie 😫😫🤤
Enjoy!!
Don’t bother trying to do every social link and side quest on your first playthrough, without a guide you won’t do it. Also be nice to Nanako, this is not optional.
Great vegetables
get out of here and do not come back until you beat it
Ngl just take your time dont rush
play it twice, back to back first time, just do whatever you want and think is right 2nd time, play with a 100% guide so you get the full story from all the side characters etc and also get off this sub reddit. mute even till you finish because it will show up on your feed even if you don't follow it.
Don't leave Inaba until you've visited everywhere one last time, and always, and I mean **ALWAYS**, second guess things
eh tried it hated it
Don't ask for advice, experience it for yourself
Quit. Save yourself.
Appreciate the great vegetables
Why the fuck did u even post about this. RUN OP DONT LOOK BACK ON THIS POST THIS GAME IS TO GLORIOUS TO BE SPOILED ABOUT
You gonna have a blast
Be sure to take characters in and out of your party. New characters look kind of unimpressive when you first get them because they have less skills than your current party members, but some of the strongest and most fun characters aren't part of the first 3.
When you unlock the scooter take yukiko out exactly five times you will unlock mind charge an ability really strong on her
kinda like persons 5 has it in its loading screens, just take your time. that’s the best way to enjoy this game
Go for the harem, it's totally worth it.
Take your time.
go back to each dudgeon after you beat it there's a mini-boss (most are pretty easy) at the top, after you get the devil arcana to rank 4 go to the flood plain every sunday, and just do a [s.link](http://s.link) every day possible
If you’re a child make sure your parents aren’t around for the first 3 dungeons
Please get out of the sub redit now. I got a major part of the story spoiled to me when I started playing soooo yea. Enjoy the game man
Currently playing right now on my second playthrough.....
Great vegetables. That’s my advice.
Might wanna quit your job.
To unlock certain social links you have to get sufficiently far with other social links. Also, forget the gold hands in palaces in your first playthrough.
The true ending can be annoying to get, so look up a spoiler free guide for it.
I’m gonna say this if you feel like your having problems understanding something or there’s a social link you wanna do look up a guide most times there’s no spoilers about what actually happens and they just literally tell what to do and how to do it.
Complete the compendium as fast as you can, please.
Pay attention to who has certain umbrellas if you know, you know

>!Me and a buddy discovered that only Yu and REDACTED use a umbrella out of the main cast and that's how we figure out who the killer was!< (edit if you have not played or heated the game this is actual spoilers for the game so OP don't look at this please I also changed the the name to redacted)
>!ok now delete that or may spoil the game for op!<
i removed the names
blud will still know who he is
