In the long run it's not going to matter. Stop worrying about the things that are not in your control now. The time is gone. It's irreversible. Focus on what you can do now to improve ur life hereafter. Focus on career. Self pity won't do any good. Come out of it and start working. Doing thing changes things. Not doing things leaves things exactly as they are.

readyplayer202

This is a solid advice. Don’t dwell on past.

NoStoryYet

Stop comparing. Comparison never ends. 25 is too young. Way too young. You'll realize when you are 30, or 35, or 40. So just make the best of your time starting now. Peace!

DrDev_10

Now you know the value of time and opportunity cost hit back you are way too young

NoWear192

Hi I am 26 so I feel I can understand your pain. It is very common in our generation so don't worry. Hear me out. You are comparing with 10LPA, my friends are earning 4x that (minimum). Let me give some context. I had missed out on 2 years after my 12th due to hospitalizations and my health had also affected my marks (I had to leave an exam mid way because I collapsed in the exam hall). Prior to this, I wanted to do a PhD in Political Science and become a professor and do research. I wanted to achieve all this by 27. I had a plan set out since I was 13. By the time I was out of school, I leveraged my hospitalised time and free time to do research on impact of financial policies on de-notified tribes (it was bad but it was my first time). It still made it to NCERT state committee as a special report. My mother had to singlehandedly manage my expenses during this time when I was ill. She went bankrupt twice (never took loans so thank God) due to my health. I still did well in college but by the time I graduated my schoolmates were doing masters abroad or in top IIMs or were already working. had published a high impact paper, a book with a research team, presented papers at conferences where I was the youngest member and least qualified on paper and topped University. Yet I felt I missed out on golden two years. Life would have been amazing with a PhD at 27 and research under my belt. I didn't see the point going abroad without scholarship and for my research, India really wouldn't fund it (colleges outright told me to apply abroad for jobs because government can cut funding if they hire professors/RAs who put the govt in bad light). I cracked into a top University abroad (top 3 rank in my field) but didn't get a scholarship due to gap years and low mark (75% but rest of my marks were above 90). My 12th and gap years would haunt me for the rest of my academic career. I decided to pull my socks up and make the most of it. Now I am graduating from a Tier 2 MBA (again due to ill health and low 12th marks) with around the same package you are comparing with. I could sit and compare with people who are in Harvard and ISB or even those doing PhD from Ivy Leagues. Infact, my best friend is in ISB and my cousin is doing a PhD from UCLA in the same field I want to do. I can feel bad (and sometimes I do) and compare with my best friend who has a 40LPA package and a few years of work ex. Or I can plan on networking once I join my company and leverage them to get better offers (which I have started). Surprisingly, though I didn't get into research, I have chosen a job that is research heavy and not just a desk job in a growing field. My friend who is earning 40LPA is in a field where she doesn't want to be. I lost out on my dream. But I gained a lovely fiance who appreciates me and values me. I have my mother who backs me up and I can't wait to support her right away so she doesn't have to work even though she loves working. And I can't wait to start my job once I graduate. The grass is greener on the side you water and not on the other side. Don't stress. Life will ensure you work out in the long run. It isn't too late to correct your course (if you feel it needs correction). Make a 3 year goal. Evaluate where you are and where you want to be. Don't look at others now. You can still catch up with agressive upskilling (MBA or otherwise) and switching jobs every 3 years. Hope this helps :)

NoWear192

Pressure from family at young age to do well. Did a lot more as well. Got awarded medals by President of India and the governor of my state. District football (I was kind of forced to despite having genetic issues that made me run slow), drums, bass guitar and guitar. Released music with label houses, collaborated with music composers and what not. Still just like every other house, it wasn't enough. So kept doing more till my body couldnt handle any more and collapsed. Till then I hated my mother. I would face the usual things that every child faces with regards to studies and life - constant comparison within family members. But when my body gave up my mom realized it was not worth it. We have really grown closer after that. Then I became a teacher and moved into a startup post that. Lucked out meeting my fiance who shares the same trauma. We trauma bonded and now are doing much more. In fact, I met a professor on campus who wants me to publish in entrepreneurship and I am currently writing a paper on open innovation and firm performance in India by leveraging NLPs and regressions. It is much more fun now that there is no pressure because I don't compare as much as I used to. But there are days where I feel I could have done something more if I didnt have my illnesses and then just go to bed laughing at how silly I sound because I literally have everything I want right now (which is just a family (mom and fiance) and not all the achievements which just made me intimidating in front of people.

uselesspotato02

I feel like a fuckin idiot now🤡🤡🤡🤡who never got any medals and stuff, nor won any competition, is a drop out and has numerous health issues, and mental issues as well (not serious) 🤡🤡🤡

NoWear192

I dropped out of 2 colleges too. Forgot to mention that. Health sucks but it is getting better. I hope you are reaching out to the right treatment team. I was tossed around couple of doctors and legit dont remember those 2 years I lost. Nobody at home talks about it as well. My mom just says "It is good you dont remember". I lost a lost of stuff but I am really grateful for those experiences because it has made me a man (or so I think).

uselesspotato02

Bhai, you have it in you. I don't know if I have it in me or not. Honestly idk tf am I supposed to do in this world. Atleast, you tried and came out. I feel luck plays a huge role in this. Not saying that you're lucky because I have several illnesses, I can relate to your situation. But damnnn, did you give up? No. You have my respect. 🫡🫡🫡🫡

NoWear192

What motivated me was just this one line by the principal of the school where I collapsed giving the 12th board. She said "It is just 1 year. You are going to live for 80 atleast, at that time this 1 year will mean nothing". But I still just got up and sat in the hall. Wrote a page and left. Luckily I passed somehow so I am just grateful for things panning out well. Looking at OP's post, I was reminded I too was in a race of comparison and hurry. If you have time on your hand just explore things out. There are a few things you can do with illnesses as well. I know someone who had to drop out of college because of arthritis. She couldnt get up from her bed or move or anything. She ended up doing distance education. Learnt some handicraft. Became a software engineer and is now doing a remote job coding. I am not sure how much she is earning, but she is earning enough not to rely on her parents. You can DM me if you want because I am sure there are loads of things that are still possible. Times have changed and this world runs on a normal distribution :)

uselesspotato02

Ok I will dm you. And no, I don't have time on my side and my brain is kinda messed up, idk why. It's not retaining information anymore. I'm experiencing this for the last 4 years. If you could help. I would be grateful but I am really low in confidence.

In awe of your journey and thanks for your advice cheered me up a little.

AmaraMoonlight

I am 30F at a package of 26 lpa, and occasionally I get the same emotions. In my organization , I work with 24-year-old IITians who earn more money than I do. These parallels go on and on. I think back on my own journey whenever I'm feeling stressed. At the age of 22, I was paid a salary of 25,000 a month. I've therefore gone a long way. Everybody has a unique journey. Remember that you are on your own journey and that you should never lose motivation or give up on your goals. Compare yourself to yourself if you feel the urge to compare. If anything, compared to the previous two years when you were at home, you are now working and making money.

saavdhanrahe

India before 2016 internet boom was a very different place. Salaries were very low compared to nowadays. That’s why competitive 24yr olds are earning well now.

Don't worry about it! Still, you have the world to conquer! Stop feeling and starting finding your potential. You have two options in front of you : Job and/or Business. **JOB:** First, join any short-term course on AI, ML, Digital Marketing, and/or Content Writing. Reason: Stick to the trend and be the first to conquer. **BUSINESS:** Jump into Blogging, Freelancing, and/or Content Writing. The present digital age is full of information and data. You can learn while experimenting things. But, whatever your goal is, you have to sacrifice at least 1 year completely to create a system that works for you. Unless, you can bounce back to present state and keep worrying about other success. --- After my diploma in 2010, I joined a company as a Junior Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a monthly salary of Rs. 4,000 only. In 2013, I started blogging. I worked on my blog parttime for two whole years and finally, I left my full-time job on Dec 31, 2015 and my salary while leaving my job is around Rs. 13,800. Today, I completed my 11 years of blogging and earning enough to live a satisfied and fulfilled life. It all depends on you and the power is within you. Make a decision stronger and put efforts to achieve it. All the best.

Piggy1219

Comparison is a joy of thief - I'm 24 My CTC is 3 LPA, my friends earn 8 - 12 LPA. We all studied together. I was in your place OP. I avoided them whenever they planned a trip or even just going out cause. I whenever around them gave me insecurity and made me look like a loser. I accepted after a long time that this is how life will be and started focusing on how to improve myself. It's never too late if you start Today

Azurepalefire

Not at all, you just have to be strategic to get there. You have just started earning, work here for a 12-14 months and then change your job. Demand atleast 30% hike in your next job and so on (people also get 100% hikes). Build core skills first, the rest will follow. The way to get better salary is to keep switching jobs every 2-3 years until you reach a place where you are comfortable with financially and that you see yourself working with ease. To illustrate, this was my salary breakup in the last decade. 24 years: 17k, high stress job 28 years: 27k same job but little upward movement 29 years: 10k (changed industries and interned), learned a ton of new stuff, did an online MBA, learnt digital marketing 30 years: 65k, high stress job BUT salary didnt increase due to COVID (even though I was promised multiple times). 33 years: Took another sabbatical due to burnout and personal reasons. 34 years: Changed industries and now earn around 1.1 lpm, learned a ton of stuff again. I got offers for around 1.9-2.2 lpm but I wanted ease after COVID, hence went for something that gave me mental peace. All you need to do is to figure out your skill set and keep hopping continuously. That's the way to get where you would like to.

navoonraj

Thank you for sharing. i love seeing timelines like this. Im 26 earning 5.5lpa and feeling like trying to get into the audio/music industry was a mistake and my career ends here at a 5.5lpa job. I want to grow in related fields.

TheFoodieBoy

off topic but what role do you have now?

Azurepalefire

Comms person, was a marketing manager earlier.

No-Voice-190

Marketing manager as in market research manager?

Azurepalefire

No, was in a creative industry. Marketing Manager there.

No-Voice-190

Oh, okay. I always thought there’s a lot money in creative industry even for freshers

orchidmaniac

Yes you did. Realise that. If 12k is not enough you need to figure out how to earn more. If you think doing an MBA is the parth do an MBA. It's pointless to think about spilled milk

kshaos

There is never a wrong time to start, if you feel you made a mistake. It's high time you make the necessary changes, maybe prepare for MBA and correct your mistake. you will be doing better than your friends soon, if you are dedicated enough. if not that, Understand what you actually want to do , not just from the monetary perspective and go ahead with it. comparison or anything won't matter to you much, if you are doing what you actually like.

barathr184

Work for a year or two then switch. You will get a good hike.

IcyBluebird23

Sister are you me 😭

OpenWeb5282

the same person having 10lpa is feeling left behind when he compares other who make 35lpa. focus on career growth, skills rather than comparing with others...it will help you alot. Just change jobs freq initially in your career to grow rapidly...and be proactively learn skills

The-OverThinker-23

what is done is done , focus on present and future

Unlikely_Doughnut802

The feeling is real. What we need to remind ourselves is, everyone's journey is different. Moreover, you can still do an MBA to get a career boost. My friend's salary took a huge jump, she completed her MBA just now, at the age of 32

eddit21

Which college did she do the MBA from?

Unlikely_Doughnut802

IIM Trichy

Kannmall

Did she do the regular MBA via CAT?

Unlikely_Doughnut802

Regular

Murky_Yesterday_9051

24M , if it makes you feel any better. I currently make 28LPA and I literally wasted 3 years of my life on chasing a sport during my undergrad. Feeling behind is a common feeling and probably a correct feeling that will punch you in the gut to take action. But don't take action just to get ahead of your friends. Plan out and do things that you wish your 40 year old version wont regret. People ofter underestimate what they can acheive in a span of 2-3 years.

Smart_dumb_

Comparison is the theif of joy! But you have fucked up, grind and move up

[deleted]

I am 23 M .I have wasted One Year . I have Completed my M.B.A in finance but most of the companies are from Sales Job So I don't go for very few companies in the finance sector which I couldn't clear( My mistake). But in the year span I have appeared for almost 10 Central Govt Jobs and Failed miserably and now I am finding a job. What I learnt in this Period. 1) You will feel that you are left over. Everyone is going ahead and you are at the same page Comparison is a thief of joy. 2) You feel a burden on your parents of course they are not gonna say it to you because they love you gather this energy and move forward. At least you got a job now start something fresh your future self will thank you for this.

sneekeeei

Yes, If you have not done anything to learn or improve your skills to get better in your career. But the good part is you realising it by 25 years of age. You have a lot of time to catch up. You just have to put enough effort.

r0ark5

You are 25 and you will retire at 58. That is a difference of 33 years.  A mistake of two years will provide a wisdom for 33 years and that too will compound with every experience.  cheers to getting on your feet sooner than later :)

XpredatorMX

I am 26 now and still unemployed by my wish Don’t worry… I graduated in 2018 and I did job 2019-2020 then left for study for govt exams then again I did job 2021-2022 again I left job again started studying till now… still not giving up…. Even my friends have a good package but if u ask them are they satisfied with what they have the answer will be NO…. So don’t think u are wasting time… focus on our present I have been failing exams by 2.25,2, 1.5 marks like that… it’s the worst that can happen but still not giving up If u have chose the path u are going right do it anyhow u will succeed…. But it will take time

NishThathakark

Gurlll, I totally get where you're coming from! I was in the same boat a few years ago. Started off with chemistry in undergrad but then decided to dive into the world of math. Took the detour and did an entrance exam for a master's in operational research. Surprisingly, the fees were pretty decent, around 6k for two years. Fast forward, and now I'm rocking it as a senior data scientist.

AlexMadini

Koi baat nai bhen jis din utho us din savera hai. Prep yourself for a MBA if you think you should or get a skill and then get a better job. Life is to short to see people growing... Set your goals achieve them and make your life better. God bless

conquer_high

You can't change what has already happened but you can mould your future surely. Rather than repenting about what you didn't do think about what you want now. Go get it girl!

Reasonable-Toe4620

You too can go for an MBA, now or do it in a couple of years.

NoZombie2069

25 is not old, you still have enough time to catch up and even get ahead. How? IDK, depends on what your future goals are.

russian6k

First, congrats, and then stop comparing. If you would like to improve your financial standing. I would recommend enrolling in a distance executive MBA program (University suggestions: NMIMS, Symbiosis, etc.) while still working at your current job, switch after two years, and you would have exposure + MBA. You might outperform your friends and colleagues as well. All the best! Edit: I read your post again just because your friends did MBA doesn't mean you've to too. Know your industry, get exposure and do what needs to be done switch job or otherwise. You'll make it be consistency, accept feedbacks and at your go at your pace.

SliceOfLife59

Distance MBA program did nothing for me. So, I am curious: Was it beneficial to you?

russian6k

I'm pursuing a full time MBA from a tier 2 college. My dad and sister did executive MBA both are doing really great in their respective fields. Edit: If you don't mind me asking what was your Major and Minor ?

limitlessblaze

Again the same post where people compare their lives with others. Why do you have to do that? The person who is making 10L would be comparing with someone who is earning 20L. This would never end. You have your own destiny. They have their own. Stop this and start living your life with your whatever you have. Everything will come to you once you start manifesting positive things.

Ok-Departure5440

You have to start from somewhere, accept it or work on your skills or Crack some entrance exam for post graduation.

Mean-Cryptographer-1

When you’re about to die, you’ll feel like your entire life is a waste because nothing matters after you close your eyes for the last time.

rhett_ad

Hey, no need to stress! Landing your first job is a major milestone, and feeling like you're lagging behind is totally normal. Comparison is the thief of joy. I started my career with a humble salary too (extraordinarily humble), but over time, things improved. Sure, many of my friends might be earning more, but their success doesn't overshadow mine (product of them for their achievements). Embrace your journey, stay focused on your goals, and celebrate your progress. You're doing great! And if you want a higher package, change companies every 2 years.

J0k3r_V

There’s a mindset problem here. 12K / Month. That’s a bliss in the job market right now & you don’t realise it. You won’t anyway, not right now — but the moment those corporate friends starts bitching about their job, you would be the proudest. Normal human tendencies. Rather than being remorseful that is not in your control, you should be thinking how I can use this opportunity to learn and upgrade myself better because there is no one stopping you right now. There is no liability on your head until you share your long back story, which is another post itself, but know this no matter how much you compare yourself this mindset won’t take you anywhere. Grow some balls & fight this envy with upgradation. Seek more. Search more. Be foolishly learning more. Rise above.

sevlonbhoi1

I was at home for 5 years after college. Joined first job after that that paid me 7.5k per month. I win. On serious note. after few years you won't even remember these "wasted 2 years. stop comparing.

F_R_O_S_B_Y_T_E

Yes u have wasted 2 years of ur life. But we can't bring back those lost time. Just be glad u started at least now. And 25 isn't that old and please stop comparing others'lives(Ik it's hard but suck it up). Also achievement differs from person to person. For me I want to travel the world and meet new people, for someone else it could be landing their dream job/degree. So think what u want in life.

Conscious_Cut8882

It's for you to evaluate, mate, we don't know you. However, keep in mind that the world is not, and could not be, composed only of mba holders and 10 lpa salary blokes. Cheer up, regardless of what you think of those two idle years, it is behind you. Not only is it useless to ruminate about the past, it is toxic. On the strength of how you estimate you ought to have spent those two years, make a fair assessment of your present situation (no dramatic self-pitying, etc), ponder it dispassionately (or at least try) and make a sound decision as to how to proceed down the line to avoid experiencing this feeling of waste again. As I said in opening, we don't know you, your aspirations, your preferences, nothing; hence it is impossible to give anything but general advice here. Do some self-enquiry, don't wallow in self-pity, cheer up and gear up. In short, be a man.

masterjupiter79

25M here No you haven't I am in a similar situation (comparisons and all) but now I am gearing up for post graduation. As everyone says we have ample time. Never too late. Best of luck

PuzzleheadedServe272

There will always be someone earning more than you at same or lesser age. There are batchmates earning more than me even when I earn 30-40lpa at 22. Just compare yourself to what you were before rather than comparison with other people.

Sea_Title8551

Jobs don’t make people rich. Try to get to a decent level then stop comparing. You can live your whole life comparing yourself to others or do something that makes your life worth. Believe me even those friends are not happy at all . It doesn’t matter sometimes

Aggressive_Bed_9774

23M here , almost same story as yours , except I'm earning 18k per month working on a project where there's nothing to learn ( Dial 112 project ) and had taken 1 year break after graduation instead of doing a global certification I have to ask tho, do all MBAs get that good packages?

Excellent_Avocado_44

Don't be hard on yourself.. You're just 25..yhe world is your oyster! I didn't start earning until I was in my late 20s..and like 7L something.. So don't worry. You've lost nothing.. You can start now! just go for it!

Sayan_Deep

26M. In the exact same spot as you. Some earning 10-13 lpa or more. Some have become professors. And I'm earning in the same ballpark as you. Speaking from personal experience, don't compare yourself to others. Try really hard not to. Compare yourself with your past self. See if you have grown. Take a timeframe. Let's say, a year. See if you are in a better place or doing better than you were doing a year ago. If yes, then how much? Would the you from a year ago say that you are in a better place now? If yes then you're good. If no, work harder. Set a realistic goal based on your current status. Comparison never ends. There always will be someone who's doing better than you. The only comparison you should do is with yourself and no one else. Grass is always greener on the other side. The people you think are doing better than you, are also comparing themselves with someone doing better than them. You'll always regret your decisions. No matter what you do. That's what humans do. Doesn't matter if you have wasted 2yrs. You can't change that. What you can do is work harder to compensate for those 2 lost years. Start right now. Don't think of what could've been. Think of what can be. And move forward. Also, a personal suggestion, stay off social media for a while. I did it and it helped a lot. It'll be hard to quit at first but it gets's easier. Trust me, you'll feel a lot better when you're not being blasted with other's achievements. In the time you use social media, try to upskill or learn something useful. It'll be far better than watching reels. Best of luck.

Realistic-Opinion-80

You know, it's good that you're having these thoughts because of your circle, you're experiencing anxiety. And I term this type of anxiety as positive anxiety until you debase yourself. Let's say your circle is earning 8LPA. Would you feel like a failure? Maybe yes, but there's a high chance you wouldn't. You would be happy. Don't feel like "you wasted 2 years." Breathe, smile, and work on yourself.

ScorchedMagic

Everyone’s journey is unique and these are all pitstops in between, please don’t get into the comparison game as it only leads to stress. Try to have a personal goal set, aiming to become a better version of you than what you were a month ago… take it slow but be steady and you will thrive.

HeavyPresentation246

You will get there too

Satyadev10

Not necessarily....you need to be happy with what you are getting.....but also be vigilant as to why are you r needs not fulfilled with the money you earn..be political Aware and vote for Good Educated Leaders.... today Many problems are been created by current Govt you must learn and replace the incompetent PM and his Govt

Dont compare your story with others, life pans out differently for evryone. So make peace with it, work on it and reach where you want to be.

Agitated_Field88

You have time on your side so you can very well get your act together even now. But the fact that you asked the question here means you know the answer. Good Luck 👍🏻

piyushpratim04

Aah.. exactly the same. A few differences tho.. did my graduation, was sitting ducks for 2 years, then did my masters and again sitting ducks for the past 3 months. And I'm 25M.

ShoddyWaltz4948

Do an MBA now !!!

_Dark_Invader_

Why did you not do anything in those 2 years? What do you think you should do to bridge that gap ?

throwawayacct3810

No. You have wasted 6 years. Mark Zuckerberg founded Facebook when he was 19.

Haunting-Register810

What do you do?

odd_star11

You did, but so what? Can you go back and change anything? What you CAN control is NOW. Just plan for the future and continue to focus on what’s ahead instead of what’s behind.

newtimes7

Do mba get 10lpa Or better yet get married raise children give time to them teach dharam culture. Your 2 rupees will get spent on ac bill. Unless u marry a poor guy u don't need to work. U can open bakery at home for your colony. Nowadays mba don't have value. Open ChatGPT 4.0 shop. Any website software presentation prototype for 500 (starting).

Welrome

No not yet it is the same after getting graduated. You may earn more after a little bit of experience. Stay Confident bruh.

Tasty-Presence-5769

You know after a certain age you should start comparing yourself with others. There are always going to be better people than you unless you are worlds richest person

sidratnam_007

Try for banking exams , from ibps and sbi , if you prepare for 1 year wholeheartedly you can definitely clear them . I recently cracked the sbi po exam and it has 20 lpa CTC.

Chemical_Growth_5861

Improve on a skillset ..Due respect to People who have done MBA ..but are getting churned out like a factory...hence Skills will standout

RevolutionaryCrab452

Don't worry If you are talented, experience does not matter that much. Since your package is low therefore you should not stick to one company for too long and try to study daily through blog articles and youtube videos. Be aware of what is new in the industry and try to work in those areas. Don't think about the package too much, think about mental peace.

My father is an electrical engineer. He passed from a tire 3 city no one in his family was educated. Neither did they support him for education and bcoz of lack of market knowledge he spent and wasted like 6 years in a low paying (1LPA) company which was not even of his field. At that time we were in the lower middle class. But after that he tried in L and T and got an offer. We shifted to Mumbai and within 15 years he was able to buy two flats here. So you might be thinking I am bragging here but no I think everything has a particular time and when it comes grab that opportunity make most out of it.

I wasted two years after high school. Then another three years after graduation. But eventually turned serious. Started my career at 27. Then I went back to school for another two years in my thirties. You are young.

OkConcentrate1956

You just started out. With time and age, you will also realise that Health is the biggest wealth in the long run and time is the most precious of them all.

Solid_Professor_3756

Are you going to rant and cry for about 2 years or look forward to 35 years?

Total-Complaint-1060

Yes you wasted 2 years of your life. But maybe you will live two years more than your friends. Stop comparing.

Ad-2050

Firstly, there's no way to win the rat race. No matter what you do in life, there will always be someone who has achieved more. The richest person on the planet is 10 times richer than the 100th richest person on the planet 😅 ; he's 200 times richer than someone who is worth $1 Billion. Even the richest person on the planet wouldn't compare favourably to emperors & kings of the past. Secondly, life isn't linear. Your friends may be ahead of you now, but you could always go past them in a few years. Based on my own experience, this is quite common. However, you must keep working hard and seize the opportunities when they come your way. Here are some specific recommendations: Some of the highest paying roles today are: (randomly ordered) (1) Investment Bankers (2) Management Consultants (3) Software Engineers (Product companies) (4) Machine Learning Engineers (incl AI) (5) Product Managers (6) Data Scientists (7) Growth Marketers (8) Product Designers (9) Corporate Lawyers (10) Content Creators Evaluate your innate strengths and identify which role matches best. Pursue degrees/certifications if they are mandatory for the role. If not, just read the best books for that domain. Network with people in that role and try to get a referral or just apply directly. Once you a crack a job, work hard to be one of the best folks in that domain. Leverage your expertise and switch when the market is hot.
