Normie engg grad here. I don't like my course din. I don't know what I want, actually most people I know ganun din. Atleast u have a dream course diba, you're already a step closer. I failed so many exams, quizzes, and HWs too. In the end, namamanage ko naman pumasa palagi. I don't think nagmamatter sa employers ang acad performance, mas tinitignan nila yung hard skills. Pero leverage pa rin yung honors when negotiating for salary and the fact na UP grad ka. Mas mataas sweldo ko sa mga ka-batch ko sa work na non-Big 4 grads, by a lot.
Yung work ko ngayon hindi related sa course ko pero I enjoy doing it. Tip ko lang, hanap ka ng Coursera courses (I think free 'to for UP students, not sure check mo na lang) about stuff that you find interesting. Better if may certificate para you can add it to your resume.
Reality hits hard pag naghahanap ka na ng work and most of what you learned sa degree mo won't help you in landing a job. So try to find real world experiences, maghanap ka ng internships (better if paid haha) kahit hindi related sa course mo.
Prioritize your mental health. Hindi ko pinipilit sarili ko na mag-acads when I'm anxious or anything like that. But I make sure na I start doing my reqs agad kahit minimal work lang. Small or big, progress is still progress.
I'm only in sr. High school... Pero napag-iisipan ko din toh... Like Di ko din alam kung ano ba dapat ko aabutin... I have dreams and aspirations, things that I like to work hard on; pero the horrors and hardships of the big or real world is really pressuring. I doubt my skills or if may mararatnan ako in the future.
Off-handedly, nag jo-joke ako sa mga friends ko pag nag cha-chat kami online, saying things like "magiging server nalang ako sa computer shop, or taga-hugas ng pinggan in this town diner", tho, low-key feel ko ganun din abot ng skill cap from time-to-time. Så college, still don't know what course to get (currently in HUMSS), much less yung trabaho na kukunin ko.
Edit: living in a majorly impoverished country sucks...
why is this me in a few years??? I'm thinking of shifting to IE kahit di ko super bet at mahina ako sa math pero gusto ko don kase practical? (since wala naman akong dream course) nakakatakot naman yung thought na kahit magaral ka nang sobra pag di ka magaling wala talaga :((((
