Camel

quaza_bey

One of my fav bands, they're absolutely genius.

AliTheMemer

If pink floyd are my home, camel are my second home. Really brilliant band.

kaboom_2

This! We are not sorting the best rock bands! The question is; if PF is your most fav, which one goes next. That means your favorite type of music is psychedelic rock or progressive rock. Beatles is NOT a prog/psyc rock, although it’s one of the best bands ever. Camel IS a prog rock band. Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler is a prog rock band as well. In this genre we can name Genesis (And Steve Hackett), Steve Wilson, Queen (somewhat). I am a super PF fan, Rush is great, but Rush can’t be my second choice. So, what we do here is regardless of PF. We’re just sorting famous well-known rock bands!! My 2 cents.

AliTheMemer

Exactly! Camel, Genesis and somewhat Yes, are a must listen if you're a PF fan, and camel are the most brilliant of the bunch in my opinion.

kaboom_2

ICE is my most fav solo.

AliTheMemer

Oh boy I could talk about them for hours! I also admire the guitar work on Rhayader gows to town, La princesse perdue and chord change. Even their more poppy songs are excellent (even tho I prefer sticking to the root of the band).

Dire Straits

LuNoZzy

I recently ''discovered'' Dire Straits This word is thrown around alot, but I genuinely think Mark Knopfler is truly underrated.

[deleted]

Just because you just discovered Dire Straits doesn't mean they are "truly underrated", they were one of the biggest rock bands in the world.

realimsocrazy

How about some Supertramp love in here?

No-Communication3539

Please make Supertramp top 3

[deleted]

Hell yeah

Nimun2012

Grateful Dead

losandreas36

Oh yeah man. why I had to scroll down so far for this

PsychonautPsycho

Uncultured swine a lot of ye are! Grateful dead should have been number 2. God Damn Beatles. Lmao. Sad I had to scroll this far to see The Dead as well. ):

I want Zappa in this list.

Nuked_Rag

Squirrellybot

Rather see me some Captain Beefheart, but doubt he’d get the support over Zappa.

Spiralout1974

Tool

Yeh I reckon Tool will end up there.

Agreed Radiohead

Nuked_Rag

Agreed Radiohead x2

fractal-rock

Radiohead. Astonished that this isn't top of the list already!

Squirrellybot

Their pre-*OK computer* and post *In Rainbows* catalogue has been disappointing for me. Definitely bands with solid discographies front to back above them right now.

[deleted]

Jethro Tull

Escalus90

Alan Parsons Project

BeaverTap

Alan Parsons was the Abbey Road engineer on DSOTM. And Parsons brought in a friend, Clare Torry, to sing on Great Gig in the Sky. Also engineered on a Beatles, was it Abbey Road?

Mrlifeboat

Today is my APP awakening day. Never listened to them before I saw so many votes on here. I am now fully and completely converted…..and slightly blown away how I can go my whole life without them.

chrisalbo

Same for me, have listen to ~~I, Robot~~ I Robot recently and it’s so well done. Almost as a continued Dark Side, and in a positive way.

chrisalbo

Also is quite similar to AHM in parts
