It’s honestly been so hard acclimating with him because he’s a puppy. It seems to be getting easier. Was hoping to foster him until I can find a forever home. He’s so sweet i’m already so attached.
I’m sure you’re already so attached, he looks so sweet. But I could also imagine it’s difficult acclimating him, do you have other dogs?
I get that taking on a dog is a huge responsibility. For now just “foster” him and see how it goes. If he just turns out to be a great fit for you, then even better! But if it’s not right and you have to find him a forever home, then I’m sure you’ll make sure good people take him. With that face though, deciding to give him away might not even be possible hahaha!

I don’t know how old you think he is but since he still has puppy energy and likely will chew more as he settles, I highly recommend bark box super chewer, some of the only toys that lasted through my dog’s velociraptor stage. I’d get the all toys box. And only let her have one new toy at a time and by time I might need something new to let her destroy the new box would come. So over all it saved money and was really cute stuff. I’ve stopped the boxes now and she has a lot of toys that she keeps longer and at 3yo she will randomly destroy another one but the stock pile helps. There’s a few she likes more and just cuddles and carries around- her stuffed challah she loves to snuggle, her champagne glass she likes to greet guests at the door with (it’s also a tug toy, but it’s hilarious that that’s her greet people at door toy).
It seemed silly because my previous dogs didn’t go through so many toys (but were likely to steal shoes, empty trash cans, eat homework, chew furniture- most of this in the puppy or velociraptor stage of 4 months to 2ish years, some beyond that) whereas my pibble doesn’t destroy things but will go through moments where she kills 4 toys in a day, mostly during the velociraptor stage. Like my pibble was just born respecting other peoples things but not always her own. So the monthly box was perfect for keeping her busy. Plus the toys are cute so it’s always fun when a spa themed box shows up or fast food or something. Or the champagne glass for New Year’s Eve. And they listen to preferences- need super chewer but dog only likes plush style toys, they’ll send things that fit your dog.
He looks so calm and trusting already. Dogs are great judges of character, you must be a heck of a good person.
My only experience with pitties is they can really hurt you with that furry rebar they call a tail when it starts swinging happily.
He looks so hopeful. All he wants is a stable home, some basic structure to help him make sense of the world, and a family. He isn't sure yet, but he's cautiously optimistic. He wants to be a good boy, if someone will just teach him how.
Also, he's down to cuddle anytime you like.

You’re a saint for rescuing this adorable boy. For the life of me I can’t understand abandoning a pet. Some get lose but we have witnessed people dumping animals in my parents area (very wooded farm area). My parents and the neighbors keep them. Don’t have room or extra money but the area is compassionate farmers and retirees. They make it work. I admire people like you and them who rescue them and give them a wonderful life after all that pain
Be careful. Ours ate everything for weeks until he felt more food secure. 2 trips to the ER for eating part of a wooden spoon, Mon -Wed out of my pill divider, paper towels, basically everything he thought looked good. And outside he ate wood chips and poop. He loved poop. He looks similar to your dog, we think he’s a BullBoxer. Keep a close eye on him! He’s a good looking dog. Ours is so mellow and kind. His name is Memphis, he’s 4.

That’s a good point. It’s been over a week. He’s familiarized with the apartment and neighbors. Crazy how just 1 week can be so life changing.
