Fun fact nasturtium is actually Tropaeolum. The family of water cress had a similar taste and appearance so it was inappropriately named and we still use it today!
The nasturtiums received their common name because they produce an oil similar to that of watercress (Nasturtium officinale).
As said, nasturtiums. The leaves are edible, with a peppery taste. They're reliable self-seeders so it's not surprising that they've taken care of themselves for 3 years.
The seeds are also edible.
Nasturtiums are one of the best children’s my first garden plants because every part is edible, no toxic sap, no thorns, fast growing, large seeds, cheap, and is an annual ( not a tree !).
It’s nasturtium, looking lovely!
They’re perfectly edible too, taste a little spicy. A café near where I live garnishes plates with them.
Peppery leaves and flowers Delicious right off he plant and rinsed

Every part of the plant is edible from the roots through to the seeds 👍
How do you prepare the leaves? I’ve always only eaten the flowers
I’ve always just eaten the young leaves fresh in a salad. The larger leaves tend to be too bitter and that doesn’t really go away with cooking.
The flowers are also edible, I put them in scones, on salads, on everything savory.

The seedpods are called poor man’s capers and are used as a caper substitute in dishes
Obsessed
Nasturtiums, awesome. Leaves and flowers are edible!
Delicious spicy flower
My favorite!
I'd say the flowers taste more gasoline-y than peppery. So don't take a big bite of one without trying a tiny piece first. Many regrets.
Love these unfortunately so do the critters in my backyard and hedgerow.
They look nice and I hope they smell nice.
You can pickle the seeds. They end up like oversized capers.
I was really looking forward to eating some of these that we had in our front yard. Apparently the local wildlife beat me to it...
I have purple ones if these, they grow everywhere in my back garden now
