In my head I thought, "what could possibly be in the DLC, more things to wash?" Then I googled it and saw it has 40k, FF7, SpongeBob and Tomb raider DLC. That's pretty badass for a washing sim lol.
Honestly, red dead 2. I played it for over 2 years, mostly because I would play it after work and just zone out and hunt and do random shit and pretend to be an 1900s cowboy living a more simple life. And most of it was using the early days of the pandemic when most of us were low key anxious and stressed out so it was great until I realized I had to finally finish it to move onto other games.
That is an excellent way to describe it and exactly what I did when I finished the Horizon series. I was still in the mood for open world but not as big and Mirage was just that. The simplicity of the combat, since it's stealth focused was nice and exactly what I wanted coming from a more combat heavy series.
I agree, I'm actually replaying Odyssey again right now. Immortals fenyx rising was made by the same folks and is actually really fun to play!
Some others I've played when I felt the same, just wanted to turn my brain off were: Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Ghostwire Tokyo, Forspoken, which I don't think it was nearly as bad as it was made out to be at all and the traversal was really fun!
God Of War 2018 and Ragnarok if you want some good satisfying combat or Dead Space, Callisto Protocol and Days Gone (especially for the hordes) if you just want to turn your brain off and shoot shit lol.
I didn’t actually. Tbh I thought it was some tutorial program on how to navigate the Ps5 so I just deleted it right away to make room for the games I wanted to play. Sounds like I’m wrong lol
I forgot I had it after getting my Ps5. Saw folks talking about the coming sequel and took it for a whirl.
VERY good game and I only did one room of it. Utilizes things in the controller I didn't know were possible.
Not the biggest fan of puzzlers but this looks like a game my wife would enjoy. She loves puzzle games and Tetris, think this could be good for her too?
If I want to interact with others, fall guys. If I want to do things solo, vampire survivors.
I know it won't do any good since VS isn't expected to release for a few months, but just throwing it out there
I finished Tinykin last week. It’s a great little Pikmin style game with lots of exploration, simple puzzles and generally laid back gameplay. I found it a great palette cleanser between KH3 and FFXVI. Terrific music too!
Totally get this - you just want a nothing game sometimes. That being said, another vote for Power Wash Simulator lol. I also like story of seasons pioneers of olive town to just do some farming, mining or fishing.
I actually like how quick and easy I can jump into a session of XDefiant and play just the one session or two. It’s quite mindless and easily accessible fun. Haven’t even paid anything for it.
Dredge. I’m absolutely obsessed with it right now and one of the main reasons is because I can play it for 5 minutes or for 5 hours. It’s simple to learn, easy controls, simple but great storytelling, and lots to explore. Cant recommend it highly enough.
Immediately what came to mind! There is so much to explore you can easily get some good hours on there but it can literally be dropped at any time. I just finished the official storyline last night and I’m still playing to completion bc it’s so peaceful after working in retail all day :)
Peaceful is such a good word for it. Still on my first play through and doing the easy/non-jump scare version just to keep it as low stress as possible and it’s the perfect ending to a day whether I have half an hour or 2 hours.
a few months ago I played the Uncharted 4 remastered and it reminded me that it's really relaxing to play this type of game where you have to explore and there's also some action that makes you enjoy the game even more
100% agreed. I love both games but eternal was just slightly too involved imo. Especially towards the end I felt it took quite a lot of thinking while in combat, to the point where it was too much.
Exactly. Combat must be fun but after some point in Eternal, I felt it like it's a chore to fight. Every time some enemies spawned, I was like "sigh, here we go again", instead of getting excited to rip and tear some more in doom 2016. Eternal felt like a micromanagement game where you have to carefully manage your ammo.
Couldnt force myself to finish eternal even tho how incredible graphics are and how well polished and fluid the gameplay was. I love going trigger happy and get lost in the moment. Micromanaging ammo, weapon mods, grenades, chainsaw usage etc. interrupts the flow of the game a lot. I still think it's a glorious and damn well done game though. Just like how I think Baldur's Gate 3 is a magnificent art of love and passion, but I couldnt keep myself playing it around midway act 3 because how much better Divinity Original Sin 2 combat and gameplay was.
House Flipper both 1 and 2. Follow the instructions (always simple and everything is pointed) and then just mindless renovate houses.
Moving Out 1 and 2 - basically funny physics to grab objects inside houses, to the truck. Allows to deactivate time and you have zero worries or deadlines..
Buy Uncharted 4 for PS4. In the beginning of the story, Nate challenges his wife Elina that he could beat her in the PS game she likes to play on her TV. That's when you can start playing that game inside their TV. Voila, you have it
I like some sort of creative building game when i want to relax. Something like a survival builder can be relaxing, even when not in creative mode. Just mine, refund, starring building, and see where it goes
Assasins creed valhalla. I know its got a bad rep for being bloated but its a great game to just turn ur brain off and just relax while sneaking into a guarded palace slowly picking off each person. Got so much enjoyment out of it when i stopped taking it seriously
I just played infinite warefare campaign this week, honestly An amazing story ( my favourite out of all the cods since cod 4. Could be a dark horse game for you
Diablo 4 is this for me, as a father of two toddlers, when the wife and kids go to bed, I have 2 free mindless hours to just power through some dungeons and destroy demons. It’s so mindlessly satisfying and it’s a great solo experience.
Uno, I play it with my one of my friends and sure it can get hectic but it’s actually quite relaxing and even one round took us like 3+ hours (I’m not even joking) we started at like midnight and didn’t finish until about 3am
I've seen a bunch of people mention Guardians of the Galaxy as being a fun game with a good story. I just got done doing a casual playthrough and it was great. Lots of fun--not totally brainless, but not much skill required compared to other games I've enjoyed. If you liked Spider-Man, I'd say this is similar, but less challenging and involved.
Cyberpunk 2077, I started it last week and already have 70+ hours in. I literally lose track of time playing this game , just so much to do and get lost in.
Power wash simulator
Literally this. I have well over 500 hours in it for just relaxing.
I tried this for a laugh on game pass because well, free. I now have it on PS because I saw a sale that included all the dlc.
In my head I thought, "what could possibly be in the DLC, more things to wash?" Then I googled it and saw it has 40k, FF7, SpongeBob and Tomb raider DLC. That's pretty badass for a washing sim lol.
Doesn’t make sense. Shouldn’t be fun or addictive but it is.
Holy Hell I just watched a review of it. Never heard of it and wow it looks like some Zen shit
Really relaxing. I put a lot of hours into this. And that \*ping!\* sound became so damn satisfying
Yep. This is not my normal type of game. I never thought I would love it. I love it. It's so chill.
This game is so fun in VR.
Powerwash simulator
Dave the Diver came to mind immediately for some reason.
Ooh watching the trailer makes me think this could be it. Thanks for the suggestion!
There’s also a DLC featuring Godzilla, and the best part is, it’s free! But you can only play it after completing chapter 5
Such a great choice. Really enjoyed this game.
I was up until 2 am playing it last night. Great game and no brainpower needed lol
I agree with this one too. Relaxing music and entertaining challenges.
Stardew Valley!
I second Stardew Valley. Most relaxing game I've played.
Ever tried Story of Seasons ? Same principle, minus the combat in the mines! also quite good
Talos Principle 1 and 2 Powerwash Simulator Pac-Man 256 Katamari Damacy 1&2 Reroll Astro's Playroom Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga Batman Arkham 1-3
Dead Island 2.. It helped me a lot to rewind and goof around.
Firewatch
GTA V, just roam around and drive, shoot, do missions, whatever you like
Honestly, red dead 2.
Assassins creed games tbh or when I’m trying to do something more intense, snow runner
Mirage is smaller scale, focused on stealth, and you can pick it up for like $20. Pretty good palette cleanser.
That is an excellent way to describe it and exactly what I did when I finished the Horizon series. I was still in the mood for open world but not as big and Mirage was just that. The simplicity of the combat, since it's stealth focused was nice and exactly what I wanted coming from a more combat heavy series.
Yeah I considered replaying the Ezio collection for the comfort of familiarity. Good suggestion!
For me lately it’s been assassins creed mirage. Nice story, fun stealth combat, not too much brain power. Its help shut off my brain when I need it.
It's rather short, but: Donut County
This game is under rated af. Another thumbs up from me too, fun game.
Tony hawk 1+2
God of War trilogy is my go to, has been for years.
Their brain will turn on again when they get to the Aphrodite boss fight and other similar boss fights 😂
Dredge, select “passive mode” in the settings menu and enjoy
Did you play Astro’s Playroom?
I didn’t actually. Tbh I thought it was some tutorial program on how to navigate the Ps5 so I just deleted it right away to make room for the games I wanted to play. Sounds like I’m wrong lol
Give it a shot, it was really fun…and absolutely good for the brain chillin after a work day
It’s basically the Playstation version of Mario lol
You missed something nice just for lack of curiosity
I forgot I had it after getting my Ps5. Saw folks talking about the coming sequel and took it for a whirl. VERY good game and I only did one room of it. Utilizes things in the controller I didn't know were possible.
I recommend Lumines
Not the biggest fan of puzzlers but this looks like a game my wife would enjoy. She loves puzzle games and Tetris, think this could be good for her too?
It's tetris + rhythm, so probably the best fit for her.
Absolutely!
If I want to interact with others, fall guys. If I want to do things solo, vampire survivors. I know it won't do any good since VS isn't expected to release for a few months, but just throwing it out there
Binding of Isaac
Red Dead Redemption 2 = chill
Tiny Tina's Adventures in Wonderland. It's silly and fun.
I finished Tinykin last week. It’s a great little Pikmin style game with lots of exploration, simple puzzles and generally laid back gameplay. I found it a great palette cleanser between KH3 and FFXVI. Terrific music too!
I recently started replaying mad max. Perfect for just mindless driving and exploring with some combat and a decent story added in.
Totally get this - you just want a nothing game sometimes. That being said, another vote for Power Wash Simulator lol. I also like story of seasons pioneers of olive town to just do some farming, mining or fishing.
Diablo
Chivalry 2 is what youre describing
Diablo
I actually like how quick and easy I can jump into a session of XDefiant and play just the one session or two. It’s quite mindless and easily accessible fun. Haven’t even paid anything for it.

Doom Eternal… I literally just sit on my couch and rip and tear
Personally, I felt Eternal’s mechanics were too involved. I feel Doom 2016 allows one to veg out more as it’s more streamlined.
100% agreed. I love both games but eternal was just slightly too involved imo. Especially towards the end I felt it took quite a lot of thinking while in combat, to the point where it was too much.

Try any incremental game on Roblox. Im currently afk in Lumberjack Heroes on Fortnite (incremental game). Incremental game
Diablo 4. Kill demon.
Cyberpunk 2077, I started it last week and already have 70+ hours in. I literally lose track of time playing this game , just so much to do and get lost in.
Crash bandicoot N Sane trilogy
The last of us part 2 Super fun and engaging combat, and you can switch your brain off for the "story"
Factorio for sure!
