Your mindset conveys a deep sense of understanding, unlike the people that profess their love out of pity an wonder why people don't reciprocate. It doesn't seem like this particular set back made you callous as it tends to do to other people in a similar situation. I might be missing something but I love this piece an I'm interested in reading more :)
I understand nothing! But writing helps explore it. There are so many different types of love but the best ones are the ones where we understand our partners are who they are. It's the accepting component and the shielding parts that are hard. Thank you for your feedback!
Love to me is as natural as breathing, I do it cause I should. I grew up having love withheld as a punishment so I do so without considering what people think of me. Love extends your understanding and nourishes those closest to you plus if you scare people off by the love you show, they're showing you what their idea of love is.
There are so many love poems that go all wishy-washy and generic, this one feels like it gets it. Battling between feelings of hope that you can reach the other person, while in the back of your head sort of knowing they can never change. That's how I understand this poem at least. Can't really find much to complain about, it's a really well thought-out piece \^\^
This is very mournful and sad. It doesn't deliberately hit every single stage of grief, but by the end it feels as if we've definitely been on that awful rollercoaster, all the worse because it's not officially dead. Hope is still there, but functioning more as a curse that occasionally makes us feel a little bit better, for a little while.
