“Gosh dang it elekie, I told you to control yourself. You shocked another human and now you have to wear these rubber bands for the rest of time, why can’t you be like your family”
Why would dinosaurs be represented by the name "drago"? As far as I'm aware, fossil pokemon representing dinosaurs don't typically have the dragon type (only exception being tyrantrum)
Tbh I disagree. While the Middle ages were called the dark ages it wasn't because of the same factors as the other ages. All of the other four had their main motif based what the age is most known for, be it developmental or environmental. Ice age due to the Glacial Period, Bronze Age due to the advancements of using Bronze, Stone age for when humans used stone tools, and Age of Electricity/Modern Age for the Industrial advancements.
Meanwhile the Dark ages don't really fit with that as it was coined that for the supposed decline in culture and science. What the middle ages are more known for were of the concept of Kings, Knights, and most importantly their 'Epics'. While Dragons themselves weren't specifically conceptualized during that time, we mostly associate them with that time period due to the amount of art, stories, and plays that feature Dragons during that time period. Plus the dark ages is not really used for the middle ages by scholars anymore due to a number of reasons (mainly that its not exactly true).
Stories about Knights fighting Dragons are one of the many things the middle ages are known for.
Also yeah ice age and stone age occured at the same time but they both are commonly known for the two aformentioned elements (IE the freezing of the Earth and the beginning of stone tools). Plus technically speaking there isn't one Ice Age, so far Earth has had 5 "Ice Ages"
Like I said, mainly because the Dark Ages is an outdated term. It could still work but the Dark ages could also apply to effectively any period if you want (hell thats how the Dark Ages were even called the Dark Ages in the first place) though going by this idea the Middle Ages could also be represented by fairy types as fairy tales were also very common during that time.
I really like them from a lore point of view, it shows how different population interacted with pokemon, in Hoenn/Sinnoh they were considered like positive dieties while in Galar people were scared of them and sealed them away
I dont like how you can clearly tell the new regis were not created the same time as the older ones. I think if they want to expand on older concepts the design philosophy should make it look like it fits.
Drago and Leki dont feel like I could see them in gen 3 or even gen 4, which is jarring if they are apart of a group that came out around that time.
Probably my biggest complaint with generations that introduce third evolutions. Most of them feel overdesigned and/or making subtleties of the previous two stage line glaringly obvious with the new mon (looking at you bishogun)
I will never forgive drago and eleki for breaking the "Regis are weak to fighting" pattern. We could have had Regidark instead and everything would have been perfect.
Would Regiwater for an “Exploration Age” or “Discovery Age” be appropriate? Regigrass for the age where humans arose from apes? Regifire for the Mesozoic era?

What about Regigigas though?
all ages. Rated E for everyone
Brilliant
Not the Bronze Age apparently
Pangea. before the ice age, when the continents were together. he was the one to part them.
Maybe thats actually regidrago? Dinosaurs?
no regidrago is medieval ages because of the dragon myths shared around that time
I know, but it _could_ also be sauruses
regi"drago" not regi"saurus"
Middle-aged. Slow and I can just hear it screaming "You kids get off my lawn"
“Gosh dang it elekie, I told you to control yourself. You shocked another human and now you have to wear these rubber bands for the rest of time, why can’t you be like your family”
Old Age
He created the rest of the Regis. According to the dex they are like his children as well, so that's cute.
I'd say something like the primordial age
The gigachad age. Where everything is gray-scale and chad
I would say renaissance personally, part of a golden era of pokemon.
Mesozoic era when?
[удалено]
I like this theory more tbh
The middle ages can be represented by a future dark type regi, as to the "dark ages" of europe
Or poison typing, for environmental reasons
Why would dinosaurs be represented by the name "drago"? As far as I'm aware, fossil pokemon representing dinosaurs don't typically have the dragon type (only exception being tyrantrum)
[удалено]
Oh I forgot about the gen 8 fossils, fair point
Regigigas
Dragon age
Inquisition?
This guy gets it
Nobody expects the Dragon Age Inquisition
I clicked show more hoping that it said Dragon Age, was disappointed
There was no dragon age...
You seem pretty sure of that, but Lance has a pocket full of Dragonites that would like to have a word with you.
And I have a sylveon with thier names on it.
*iron head aerodactle*
Arctovish go brrrrrr.
Yes cause arcrovish in gen 1
Lapras says hi then.
You didn’t get the reference
There was a reference?
Yes
Yeah you're right. I didn't get it...

Regidarko
Regidonnie
Regishadow
Regimeanie
Regicide

Because the motif is what the period is what it's commonly known for

Separating the continents / splitting Pangea, basically
The ‘new Regis’ really bug me; they don’t fit the design philosophy of the originals *at all* and they make no sense lore-wise either
Their names alone bother me far more than anything else about them. But I also agree.
I really like them from a lore point of view, it shows how different population interacted with pokemon, in Hoenn/Sinnoh they were considered like positive dieties while in Galar people were scared of them and sealed them away
Werent they locked away in other regions too?
They were sealed as they went into a dormant state iirc, but before they helped society and stopped natural disasters
The ones in hoenn and sinnoh were also locked away.
I have learned 0 lore from them in game - same with the legendary 4 in Pokemon SV
The sv legendary 4 have some pretty good lore you can learn if you take the history classes at the academy.
Weird because the stone age and ice age happened at the same time.

Same reason I cant handle Enamorus being slightly overdesigned, also why isn’t she winter to fit the other 3???
Right
Probably my biggest complaint with generations that introduce third evolutions. Most of them feel overdesigned and/or making subtleties of the previous two stage line glaringly obvious with the new mon (looking at you bishogun)
Electavire, magmortar, rhypherior and evem Magnezone come to mind.
You mean magnezone?
Ah yes
Poison type atomic age
Nah nah, mustard gas regi
Regigigas with slow start: middle aged
Sure let's just completely switch gears from sculpture materials to historical eras. That's a perfectly normal step that definitely makes sense.
This ‘theory’ never made sense to begin with. The ice age is completely different to the stone and iron ages.
What do you mean? Clearly humans made tools out of ice and snow and nothing else before the stone age. That’s why we never find any of them.
I got downvoted a lot when I made a post about this last time.
Thank you. Finally someone with some sense.
Early Modern, Steam Regi?
I still hope for Regifauna, Regiheat and Regiaqua.
It irrationally bothers me that “middle” ages isn’t in the middle.
I feel like Registeel is better suited for the future, considering it has a metallic, smooth, and satisfying finish to it.
Ah yes, when I think of the middle ages the first thing that comes to mind is DRAGONS.
to represent the 2020s there's Regiturd, the Poison type regi made by Regigigas out of poo
[удалено]
It doesn't really make sense with the current lore
wynaut? regidrago looks like dinasaurs from psat and eleki is most electricity (modern times)
But we know they were both created by Regigigas in the past
True, maybe they’ll retcon it
I will never forgive drago and eleki for breaking the "Regis are weak to fighting" pattern. We could have had Regidark instead and everything would have been perfect.
End the electric for modern age or age of information of however I may call it
ah regieleki, strokes reference
I still think Regidrago and Regieleki are bad additions
Maybe a Regifire for the current age with the global warming and crisis?
Dark age incoming
They should do a dark type one with apocalyptic theme
Regigas either all or the beginning
Y’all crazy theory… Regidrago & Regieleki were actually a hints for Scarlet & Violet- said someone maybe
peradox regi will be space age
Sooooooooo will we have a new Regi in 2323? ( Space Age)
Shiny registeel is Bronze Age
🙏🏻
Where's the ww2-ww1 regi? Would be epic if it were a poison type
wtf is a middle age?
You could have the industrial age be a fire golem.
Need a dark type for, well the dark age lmao
Ün Ün Ün
And Regigigas is before all of them
Ün Ün Ün
Now for the dark age
Would Regiwater for an “Exploration Age” or “Discovery Age” be appropriate? Regigrass for the age where humans arose from apes? Regifire for the Mesozoic era?
A friend of mine brainstormed Dead Regis versions Regimelt Regirust Regirubble And a new reggi, Reggimortis!
[удалено]
That was basically what we were going for ^^ Regimortis would be a tombstone/mausoleum reggi
Stone Age still superior
