Thank you for posting to r/pokemon! We're glad to have you here, but unfortunately we've had to remove this post per our rule on [Objective Questions](/r/pokemon/wiki/rules#wiki_3._follow_text_and_poll_post_restrictions). This rule is in place per feedback we've received from the community because objective questions tend to fill the topic listing and often leave little room for further discussion once the question has been answered. We do have a [Weekly Questions Thread](https://rpkmn.center/questions) dedicated to seeking answers for questions like yours, though! A lot of knowledgeable Pokémon fans frequent that thread, so please consider posting your question there if you're still looking for an answer, and you may get a detailed answer even faster than you would have here! You also don't need to worry about a minimum word count in that thread.

You'd just need to make sure that both emulators are using the same format for the saves. Also gotta say, I personally have used Desmume for years and never got issues when running Gen 5.

Yeah I played almost every DS pokemon game on Desmume with no issue. I've also taken many of my desmume files and put it on a flashcart that you can play directly on the DS. OP, there is the actual game file, and then there is the save file, and you'll need both. Different emulators might use different types of files for either of these. What I have found is that if you literally just rename the file to the format you need then it should run without issue (i.e. if the save file is called "white.sav", rename it to "white.sv1" or whatever the new file type is. That being said I wasn't transferring between emulators necessarily so I don't know if that'd work between wholly different ones. My recommendation though is MAKE A COPY OF THAT ORIGINAL SAVE FILE and do the editing on that one so you don't risk losing your save.

Can't say the same. Games run so slow on Desmume for me, and there's no game speed option to fix it.
