Funnily enough in the mainline Pokemon games the mechanics are closer to the real life inspiration than the lore. Seviper is slow and frail, it's only gimmick are poison fang and poison tail that deal damage and can poison, but Zangoose will beat seviper either before it even gets poisoned, or gets poisoned and then annihilates Seviper with STAB Facade with a boost from toxic boost

Why is Zangoose so popular to raid
None spawned for me yesterday, so I did the raid to guarantee one to add to the dex.

Toxic boost doesn't boost speed, it increases the damage of physical moves.
Which never made sense to me as they made them region locked? How would two mortal enemies fight if they can’t even meet?
Maybe the sevipers already won in one region and wiped out all the Zangoose there, and vice versa in the other region?
