SEC just greenlit the truth social spac merger (which is somehow worth $10 billion). He owns over 50% so he will get a huge cash infusion there. I suspect he's trying to delaying paying til then.
Given I haven't seen the merger documents, but thats what dictates the terms. There is no 6 month legal requirement. My last ipo allowed employees to sell 30% after 30 days. Since it's a spac, he could be selling his shares directly to the holdings company.

no, this is actually serious. No matter how rich you are, or say you are, 450mill in cash is a very difficult amount of money to come up with in 30 days. Add to that the fact it´s for financial fraud verdict, that closes most if not all legitimate doors for getting it on credit. Add to that the fact that all aspects of his business life is under watch and scrutiny so getting some shady deals would not go unnoticed, the only option left is liquidating some of his assets.
Then of course there are the 4 criminal trials that are underway, first one starting in less then a month.
Like him or hate him, it´s just a fact at this point that he is fucked, royally.
