I mean, think about it, we have a guy that is facing 91 criminal counts, was recently convicted of sexual assault (that is in every sense of the word rape), convicted of egregious fraud (along with his family, and companies), continuously slanders defendants, enemies, allies, people he doesn't know, people he does know... Everyone. Continuously incites his followers to violence, etc.
And he gets his own social media site, that he is banning anyone that doesn't worship him from, while other social media sites are being attacked, by his fans, for just countering lies.
And he gets to not only run free, but hold rallies, and is cental to every single media news site's 24 hour cycle.
Everything he says is posted, written about, video taped, etc.
I have NEVER wished someone would die.... But him, yeah, I would probably breathe a sigh of relief if he did.

It’s nice to see each new prosecution of trump learning/adapting from the previous trials and having their motions fine-tuned and ready to go.
By the time we get to one of the Major League trials, handling trump’s stochastic terrorism should be fairly automatic and efficient (within the constraints of our constitution). And no longer taboo (Unprecedented!! Novel application of the law!!) because no one’s ever had to shut the filthy mouth of an ex-president rapist/fraudster/criminal like this before.
Watching our legal system adapt to this unprecedented domestic threat reminds me of how the human body inoculated with an adequate vaccine, is able create antibodies to neutralize the threat of a novel coronavirus. I just hope the “anti-vaxxers” of the Supreme Court don’t allow the malignant virus of trumpism to succeed in destroying our nation.
You mean the "business fraud case", headline writer. Hush money isn't illegal. Concealing the payments as business expenses is like trying to deduct sex worker payments on your income taxes. That's never been legal.

That would the New York civil business fraud case. So I should have probably said the New York criminal business fraud case. Of course when you're committing multiple frauds in multiple jurisdictions things can get really confusing. There's still the possibility of him facing more criminal charges in New York.
Yeah, hiding the damaging info was a huge motive. But to me, I'm over here paying my fair share into the system and he can just structure $130k in sex worker payments in a way he doesn't have to pay taxes. Screw him for that.

What should be the consequences of violating the gag order though? I don't think trump cares unless it's a summary judgment or something to that magnitude.

If the judge grants the gag order and trump appeals it, the trial will still proceed while the appeal is reviewed. If anything, it would pause the gag order during the appeal, but not the trial.

Shutting down trumps motions should now be much quicker since there is existing precedent.
