She could’ve easily been his cash cow if he wanted to peddle her on reality shows and exploit her in whatever ways some current celebrities do with their kids. He picked the quiet, private life for her and she seems to have a much better shot at normalcy. I’m truly happy for both of them

AnnaNicole’s story is so sad and when the some truth about it all came out the last few years I felt terrible about all the jokes that were made about her. How she was treated and what she went through— she didn’t have a chance!

YES! I cannot even begin to express how happy I am that this is the FIRST time I’ve seen any pics of her or heard anything about her since that awful circus show that the media turned her paternity case into. If Birkhead wasn’t a good father, we undoubtedly would have had a Dannielynn show on TLC.
They generally always get pics yearly at the derby since they go together and he sometimes occasionally posts like once or twice a year pic. Def not anything for publicity and they seem to have a loving parent/child relationship
It's even sweeter because Anna Nicole and Larry Birkhead met at the Kentucky Derby years and years ago. He was working for one of the Louisville TV stations and they hit it off if I remember correctly! I feel like I read somewhere that they've made it a tradition to attend in remembrance of her.
I met him at a kroger just outside louisville before derby years ago. We were both buying hamburger buns and were in the checkout line. He was very nice. It only dawned on me who he was after I left.
He brings her out every year to be photographed at the Derby and has done some media over the years. Just enough to satisfy the public’s curiosity about her without being harassed or threatened subject of paparazzi

I agree on that. I was just responding to OP's (EVERY) and just wanted to make that distinction. Birkhead did not fall into the trashy exploitative very unreal reality TV.

A damn mess. They tried to make Larry look like a weirdo, a clout chaser. Knowing damn well he had a full on relationship with her. AND took his child out the country and tried to parentally alienate him. That man didn’t deserve that. At all, and in the end she died, and that absolutely devastated him. Now he’s raising their daughter as a single dad, when ironically SHE tried to live as a single mom and take the baby from him.
He actually mentioned in an IG comment once that Howard has been in her life. Howard may truly care about her and maybe even thought he might have been her father at one time so that’s very respectful of him
My dad was a drug addict but I knew he loved me, but…yea he wasn’t able to be the dad he shoulda been.
My brother is completely hands off with his girls. He’s mean, abusive, controlling, out of pocket. He shows no affection at all. He’s such a fucked up person
For real. As the whole case unfolded, I genuinely worried about his motivations. Like he could have just been in it for the (at the time, potential) money. We didn't know anything about him.
I feel like it turned out to be the absolute best-case scenario. Not saying that either of the other possibilities would have been bad. We can't know. But hard to believe they would have done better!

Agreed! One of the things that many privileged parents don't do is introduce regularity to their children. The children may end up traveling to exotic places at any time, staying at five star resorts, experiencing different cultures. That's great!
But.
One of the strengths of having a stable, loving family upbringing is finding a place, a pattern, a regular destination and/or event that is special and is something that a person can think about regularly as they get older, as they come upon adulthood and want to remember how many wonderful memories they have about that place or event.
For me, that place was a lovely beach town in New England, a place that my father's side of the family has been visiting for almost a century. My family didn't like to travel, so it was close by but still had that luster that made it a gem of a vacation spot. Even after I hit my teens and started to travel worldwide, I'd still look at the town as being a sanctuary where I could go when I needed to surround myself with wonderful memories.
I live close to the town now and only visit it when I want to do something special. My favorite salon is there. Two of my favorite restaurants are there. And the beach. Oh.....the beach. And the areas where you remember the tide pools forming, sitting in areas where you're not sure there's a brook or just the tide going out...and the guy who we paid for parking when we went to one of the beaches. This is a community that has - thankfully - stood up to the test of time and greedy developers changing it. It is the very same town that I visited when I was 10 years old...and I'm quickly approaching 50.
Oops. All this to say that Larry seems to know what should be important to his beautiful daughter. Famewhore parents should take note!
It made me happy to see Anna’s smile on her daughter, who looks healthy and happy and at peace with her dad. I wish she could have been here to see it but I’m glad that this part of her lives on♥️
She would be so happy that Dannielynn graduated from high school! I can’t remember how far Anna Nicole got but I don’t think she finished high school due to her career taking off. Larry has done such a fantastic job of giving her an actual childhood before she goes off to adulthood
I just love these two. What a happy ending to such a terrible string of events. Larry has been an amazingly attentive father and really seems to have broken the cycle in Dannielynn’s family. I’m so glad they have each other ♥️
I think Anna Nicole was married by the time she was the age that Dannielynn is now. Happy that she’s getting the chance to figure herself out without public scrutiny!

I agree. I think he saw Nicole’s state and knew that claiming her child as his would give him stake in the settlement. Nicole was not in good mind at the time and was easily influenced. Dollar signs
After her son died she was in such a bad way that she became easily influenced. Those last few years and especially months of her life was just one terrible thing after another. I only hope that wherever she went she’s at peace and it’s good to see her daughter thriving.

I’m not sure Anna was even fully aware of what she was doing. Maybe she was, which would be so sad but would still be one of her enablers manipulating her. She wasn’t well for a long time
Yea..i agree, sadly. Nicole loved Danny so much and she proved the kind of mother she was through him. With dannelynn, she was not well and was being enabled by those around her. It wasn’t funny anymore and Larry was her saving grace. Given the chance, Nicole would have been just as loving but the cards weren’t dealt that way.
I always rooted for Larry, mostly because i had watched the Anna Nicole show and saw how Howard was such a hanger-on. Larry was a cute guy and Howard was a sad puppy dog that followed her around and had issues of his own (watch the Christmas special on YouTube, it’s a shit show that is testament to who Howard was). I think Howard just didn’t want Larry around and nicole wasn’t hard to influence at that point. I’m sure nicole is happy with the outcome too, wherever she is.
I'm sure he's had some help, but it seems he has done a great job raising her. I'm impressed that outside of this annual event, he's managed to keep her out of the spotlight. Especially considering the absolute circus the paternity suit was.

And it's crazy because Anna Nicole's estate didn't even have money, the "dads" were just banking on the estate winning the endless appeals over her ex-husband's inheritance (which they didn't).
I think he met Anna the first time at a party, then he met her again a second time at the Kentucky Derby the next year and that’s when they started their relationship
It’s so stupidly almost funny how much of a shitshow the paternity suit was because she ended up being his spitting image. If they’d had the luxury of a couple years’ time it would’ve become quite obvious he’s her father.

Absolutely. One thing to celebrate is that she has had a consistent upbringing and a loving, devoted father, or at least, that's what it looks like. Anna Nicole had a father that was absent until he found out that she was a hot Playboy ticket...and then sexually assaulted her. It's so sad but the idea that her daughter won't have to go through such dysfunction is reassuring.
I didn’t want to be mean and be the first one to say it, because it really does seem like the man has been a wonderful and loving father who gave a stable home and upbringing to someone who really could’ve ended up down a bad path… but it looks like a Keith Urban wig.

This is so real and sweet. I have such a soft spot for Anna Nicole, I’m so glad her daughter is living a nice little life with her doting dad.
I got really into Anna Nicole Smith and her life before she passed…was my first pop culture fixation as a kid and I’ve always just been really touched about how dedicated he is to raising his daughter in a healthy way as well as preserving Anna’s memory.
Same! Ive always hoped for the best for that kid, I was a kid when Anna Nicole died and I remember being shocked asf because at the time and even now, I thought she was the prettiest woman in the world. Anna Nicoles life was so sad before she died and I cant even imagine what she had to been going through

It's almost haunting how much some of these kids of celebrities who died when they were very young resemble their dead parent.
Jade Goody's son looks exactly like what she would look like as an older teen.
I see it more now in her facial expressions, jawline and browline. I have a theory we always think she looks more like her mom because we only ever see her photographed next to her mom, but when you compare their side profiles side-by-side she’s his twin.
We also have no idea what her dad would look like at her age…she’s already older than he ever was, which is sad to think about.
I think Frances looks like both her parents depending on angle and facial expression. Same with Maya Thurman Hawke who looks like her dad as a teenager but also her mum.
She looks so normal, and I mean that as a compliment. And happy. The nails, makeup, hair, slightly wrinkled dress are all what a normal (ie non celebrity) 17 year old would wear. He’s not exploring her or her mother, just living life. I’m so happy for them, and pleased the general public is rooting for them at a respectable distance.
I was scrolling hoping to find an ONTD comment! I remember following the whole custody battle for her daughter on there, it's absolutely blowing my mind that she's 17 now!
This whole saga & tragedy ended up having such a nice ending. Which is so rare.
I like that we only see her once a year. A small glimpse into a seemingly happy and loved young woman.

I always love to see the updates we’ve gotten on her recently. She’s grown to be such a beautiful young lady. Looks so much like her mama. Her father clearly loves his daughter and has raised her with all of that love and happiness.
And I am so glad that the glimpses we do get are so far and few between. After everything that girl deserves a nice normal life. She and her father do.

I think I remember it also being a way for Larry to control potential media and paparazzi for Dannielynn. They do a public event on their terms and the media will respect their privacy. I was a teenager when Anna Nicole passed but there was so much coverage over who Dannielynn’s dad was. Larry was proactively protecting her privacy, if I remember correctly.
At first I wasn’t sure about him or anyone in that girls life. But seeing how he has raised Dannielynn gives me such respect for him. He seems like a great father and this is the best outcome I think anyone could have expected for Anna Nicole’s daughter. She’s her absolute spitting image, it’s incredible

Yea..i agree, sadly. Nicole loved Danny so much and she proved the kind of mother she was through him. With dannelynn, she was not well and was being enabled by those around her. It wasn’t funny anymore and Larry was her saving grace. Given the chance, Nicole would have been just as loving but the cards weren’t dealt that way.
I always rooted for Larry, mostly because i had watched the Anna Nicole show and saw how Howard was such a hanger-on. Larry was a cute guy and Howard was a sad puppy dog that followed her around and had issues of his own (watch the Christmas special on YouTube, it’s a shit show that is testament to who Howard was). I think Howard just didn’t want Larry around and nicole wasn’t hard to influence at that point. I’m sure nicole is happy with the outcome too, wherever she is.
I'm sure he's had some help, but it seems he has done a great job raising her. I'm impressed that outside of this annual event, he's managed to keep her out of the spotlight. Especially considering the absolute circus the paternity suit was.

Absolutely. One thing to celebrate is that she has had a consistent upbringing and a loving, devoted father, or at least, that's what it looks like. Anna Nicole had a father that was absent until he found out that she was a hot Playboy ticket...and then sexually assaulted her. It's so sad but the idea that her daughter won't have to go through such dysfunction is reassuring.

I got really into Anna Nicole Smith and her life before she passed…was my first pop culture fixation as a kid and I’ve always just been really touched about how dedicated he is to raising his daughter in a healthy way as well as preserving Anna’s memory.

It's almost haunting how much some of these kids of celebrities who died when they were very young resemble their dead parent. Jade Goody's son looks exactly like what she would look like as an older teen.

I see it more now in her facial expressions, jawline and browline. I have a theory we always think she looks more like her mom because we only ever see her photographed next to her mom, but when you compare their side profiles side-by-side she’s his twin. We also have no idea what her dad would look like at her age…she’s already older than he ever was, which is sad to think about.
I think Frances looks like both her parents depending on angle and facial expression. Same with Maya Thurman Hawke who looks like her dad as a teenager but also her mum.

She looks so normal, and I mean that as a compliment. And happy. The nails, makeup, hair, slightly wrinkled dress are all what a normal (ie non celebrity) 17 year old would wear. He’s not exploring her or her mother, just living life. I’m so happy for them, and pleased the general public is rooting for them at a respectable distance.

I always love to see the updates we’ve gotten on her recently. She’s grown to be such a beautiful young lady. Looks so much like her mama. Larry met Anna Nicole at the Kentucky Derby. It has become a tradition for him and Dannielynn to attend yearly now.
I think I remember it also being a way for Larry to control potential media and paparazzi for Dannielynn. They do a public event on their terms and the media will respect their privacy. I was a teenager when Anna Nicole passed but there was so much coverage over who Dannielynn’s dad was. Larry was proactively protecting her privacy, if I remember correctly.
At first I wasn’t sure about him or anyone in that girls life. But seeing how he has raised Dannielynn gives me such respect for him. He seems like a great father and this is the best outcome I think anyone could have expected for Anna Nicole’s daughter. She’s her absolute spitting image, it’s incredible
