She is such a beauty they made her a real life perfect mannequin ❤️ Definitely one of my favorite movies as a kid in the 80s. Also made me realize Kim was a special actresss, and would be a huge star!
I rewatched the other day on Prime! It’s so silly but I adore it (just need to acknowledge that the casual homophobia and sexual harassment did not age well but 🤷♀️)
Sometimes after I shower I comb my wet hair all flat and off to the side and I imagine I look like James Spader in that movie.
I also like to say “panties?” in the funny voice quite regularly to my wife. lol I even said it this morning as she was searching through the clean laundry.
And yeah, a lot of parts didn’t age too well. Although, I gotta give credit to representing intersectionality in an accepting way.
Absolutely love Kim and as far as SATC goes, I could do entirely without Charlotte start to end, but not Samantha. Her comedic timing was the heart of it for me.
Although Kristin Davis seems lovely, the character grated like a continuous record scratch.
I thought Kristin had great comedic timing as well. I read that she was being strongly considered for the role of Monica on Friends and now I can’t unsee it. Her method of acting is very similar to theirs.
That is really interesting to visualize Davis in place of Cox. I consider myself a real pop culture trend barometer — even after predicting both Friends and the Kardashian shows would never see a second season 😬
Forgive me for delving too deeply. I felt like Charlotte’s Pollyanna sweetness and naïveté(?) morphed into making her the simpleminded Rose from Golden Girls, who the street savvy friend group eye-rolled over, but needed to protect. To me Charlotte started as the fiercely traditional woman with stubborn positivity to being written as vacuous and unintelligent, for the laughs. Obviously I’m overthinking this, as not an actual fan of that show lol

SJP had and still does have one of the best agents in town and she mean girl bonded with MPK who took over SATC when Starr left. Kim never stood a chance, IMO. I'm just glad Kim wasn't in the reboot save for that tiny cameo. Kim's better than that shite.
AJLT is such a shit show, I’m happy Kim didn’t sign on -except for her 2 min cameo . I love them both (SJP and KC), both driving forces and intregal characters to this show.Egos.

Eh, that's like saying there's no power imbalance when an older rich guy dates an 18 year old so can't be abusive.
SJP was vile to Kim and used her executive producer power to bully her professionally and personally for years while working together and all because Kim dared ask early on in SATC that four of them get equal pay.
