not gonna lie i thought the Stanley cup trend was basically over - they're on 50% clearance at Target all the time. surprised they can still afford an Olivia Rodrigo sponsorship.
also every time i see someone talk about a Stanley Cup i think about hockey
I don't own a Stanley (nor want one) but ngl the accessories tempt me and my dead lil maximalist heart lol.
But I can use my Owala as a weapon so it'll always win.
Eh. It isn't like these are it's full brand. It is just one income stream they will survive with their other products.
Nalgene, another "water bottle" company, wasn't know for water bottles till Company lore has it that Nalge Company president Marsh Hyman, based in Rochester, NY, discovered that his son's Boy Scout troop was using Nalgene laboratory containers when camping. Since then, the company has re-packaged and marketed items for consumer sales through their line of Nalgene Outdoor products.
It’s such an oddly timed collab, I feel. The fad has died down considerably by now. I’m sure there’s still super collectors out there trying to grab up every single color or every design or whatever, like the Starbucks cup people lol. But the mainstream hype has definitely dwindled. I haven’t seen people post about their Stanleys in a while tbh. Maybe they’re hoping this revives the interest..?
I think this is just the risk of brand partnerships. Hard to strike when the iron's hot when corporate marketing teams (as well as other stakeholders associated with a launch like this) are tied down to deadlines, over-processing, other partnerships to manage, etc. I'm sure this partnership is like 6 months in the works at least
That is true, and also a very good point! This is something I could definitely see being in the works for a while.
Also tbh I feel like Olivia’s fans will still buy some too. Even if it doesn’t have the same hype as the Stanley craze from a few months ago, it’s honestly a cute little collab!
>This is something I could definitely see being in the works for a while.
It was about 4 months ago so deffo a while
https://www.reddit.com/r/OliviaRodrigo/comments/1alez9j/possible_stanley_collab/&ved=2ahUKEwi6rLb2pomHAxU8hf0HHXZXAgIQjjh6BAgbEAE&usg=AOvVaw1-FjQZSAzKtXbNspteys1N
honestly i kind of love watching them bc i’m just. absolutely floored by the concept of “pack my water bottle.” you mean… put water and ice in it?? what is this over consumption nonsense?
They infuriate and fascinate me 🤣
I sort of get the appeal of the crossbody-style bottle or tumbler holders that have a pocket to stash keys, cash/cards, a lip balm. Like that would be great if you’re running errands or walking the dog. But the people that get bumpers and tags and air pod holders and snack trays? C’mon, now 😆
i saw one where she was packing her stanley for a walk. which naturally included the stanley, that little pouch you clip to it for keys/card/cash/phone, the chapstick/sanitizer clip things, plus the loaded snack tray. like you’re gonna carry ALL of that, keeping your arm at a 90 degree angle so nothing spills? your elbow is gonna hurt bad. i mean i just carry my keys, phone, and airpods when i go on a walk but i guess i’m doing it wrong.
I watched some TikToks by a woman who pokes fun at TikTok over-consumerism and now I get the over-consumption videos like “pack my Stanley”. I watch those and re-stock videos because they are hypnotic in their bizarreness
>also every time i see someone talk about a Stanley Cup i think about hockey
I only learned about these cups' existence last year lol. When my coworkers were talking about the Stanley Cups at Target, I thought oh nice, I'd like to get one for our little Vegas Golden Knights shelf at home. And then I saw the pictures and I said, "Wait. That's not the Stanley Cup. It just says Stanley??"
It takes fads a little while to trickle down to kids, and even longer for fads to die once the kiddos are obsessed. As of last month, "Stanley culture" was STRONG among my elementary school students. They were dragging their big stupid cups all over the place. I anticipate some of my students having special Olivia Rodrigo cups once the fall arrives. God help me if Taylor Swift ever does something like this, because I'm surrounded by mini Swifties. D:
i love mine, it's huge and keeps my water frozen the way i like. i keep it on my work desk so i'm always sipping water and drink two full cups everyday! it was very expensive though, so i don't understand it being just a fad. to me one is enough for the next ten years at least lol
The 40oz quencher was great when I was trying to keep up my water supply to pump breast milk. I’ve started using my 14oz Yeti again though. No spills, tucks into the baby backpack nicely… it was a good run Stanley. He just tipped over so often!
Every other girl at my middle school has one. They haul them around from class to class and I get to hand them the absolutely useless school napkins every time they tip one industrial size jug of a cup over and spill everywhere.
I have one and I love it. I work from home and keep it at my desk. It’s not a “real” Stanley though, I got mine from Simply Modern for half the price and put a ton of stickers on it. I’ve been thinking of getting another one so I have a spare when the main one is dirty but the collecting frenzy is insane to me
I don’t have one, but I theorize that a big part of it is the ease of which you can put it in a cup holder in the car. Like lots of the Yetis don’t fit well, but idk about other brands like hydroflask.
They don’t fit in our main cup holder up front. My husband loves his but it’s a pain in the ass in the car. I have two Stanley dupes that do and they’re nice mostly for the car.
i haven’t gotten one because i don’t need another water bottle, but the main/only draw of them for me is that they’re large and fit in a cup holder, plus the straw. but the fact it leaks from the top seems like it would make carrying it difficult, which is another reason i’ve stayed away.
I got ones of the same size but a slightly different shape at HomeGoods/Marshalls, they’re branded but not as known or expensive as Stanley’s but half the prize and durable, keep the cold/hot in and I’ve dropped them many times and they have no dent.
I’ve had my contigo for years. Never lets me down. Plus you can go on their website and replace the rubber gaskets if you need to. Mine is dented and worn and still going strong.
I have a top handle one (30 oz) that is spill proof bc the straw tucks in. Bought it a few years ago and it’s my perfect water bottle honestly, easy to carry, fits a lot of water and keeps it cold, and minimal parts so it’s easy to keep clean and doesn’t break easily. The hype is annoying bc I hate the overconsumption of it but products are actually pretty solid imo
My whole nursing class had the Stanley cups when they got popular lmao 😭 it was just hell whenever someone accidentally knocks it over during class. But rn the new rising one is the owala bottles
I don’t get the hate for water bottles being trendy. They can be used every day and are less expensive than purses and shoes.
Yes, it’s wasteful to get them in every color or to change ‘em up too often, but bottles are more practical and less wasteful than a lot of other fads. At the very least, you’re reducing plastic water bottle usage.
I find the whole Stanley thing bonkers. They’re so expensive and they will be uncool in 2 more months and they’ll end up in thrift shops where you can get every color under the sun for $5 each cause everyone has moved onto the next marketing event designed to sap them of every single dollar they have. Cute color tho.
I’m a yeti girl bc i need insulation. I’ve had 3 types for at least 12 years.
Plus, they cut ties with the nra. They should have accepted that money but you know…
Same. I’ve lost and repurchased them several times now because they’re my favorite for water and usually still cheaper than all the other options. I don’t usually like my water cold unless it’s super hot outside, though, so I don’t need the insulation.
I’m the same. I have no fucking desire to be cleaning a straw every day. It’s so stupid but it’s too much. I have a regular screw top water bottle that doesn’t spill. $9
Me either. I remember that was my strangest downvoted comment. I commented in a thread about lost and found at schools that I could *never* grab an insulated cup from the lost and found and use it because my internal ick system just wouldn’t let me. Got downvoted to hell, lol.
My work gave me one with our company branding on it, I'm kinda curious who the manufacturer is because it's it preens good. Almost too good at keep beverages hot, my tea stays scalding hot forever
I had to block the Stanley subreddit a few months ago bc the fad was so unavoidable that even Reddit kept showing me posts about it (I did actually click on the first post I saw, so it was my own fault lmao but still)
I don’t understand it. If you like the cups, then by all means, use them! But why did it become a whole ass trend? I don’t get it! I have a random water bottle that I’ve been using for like 6 years. It cost like $15 and it works fine lol.
I don’t understand why or how *cups* became like… a fashion statement 😭
This is such an annoying answer but I don’t have time to google now. But there was a partnership between Stanley and some influencer that spawned all this. It was planned out. It’s not random. Sorry I don’t have all the info but it’s worth a google. It’s really interesting to see the manipulation happen in real time.
As someone in the UK, it’s fascinating watching them be such a ‘thing’ over in the US! (Obviously we have our own fads, but interesting to see the ones that don’t really transfer.)
Yes as someone who does a lot of walking / public transport I can’t imagine having this dangling off one hand / arm all the time (as couldn’t have it in a bag)…but I guess that’s what some people like; having them almost like an accessory / handbag!
I don’t understand why everyone is walking around with these large water bottles. Are you really going to die if you don’t drink water for 1-2 hrs? Why the fucking fuck lol
I’m in a pretty high up position at my work, and I recently started getting corporate branded Stanley cups for free, so they’re just about to plummet in popularity.
I can't wrap my mind around the fact that people are just raw dogging their straws out here. I can't imagine how dirty it gets when your walkin around malls and such
there's caps you can buy on amazon for like a dollar. are you under the impression that people don't wash their cups when they get home? Is it not the same thing going around a mall with a starbucks drink or whatever else requires a straw?
I loveeeee mine. It stays cold for 12 hours. I need ice cold water when I go to bed and it's been a game changer. I wouldn't collect them though. I drink a lot more water now too, so to each their own.
I'd have tons of water bottles in my room and that was wasteful as fuck. It would be warm by the morning and I wouldn't finish them. No room in the fridge for half drunk water bottles. Now I can use my fridge filter. Nobody is superior because they refuse to buy a stanley lmao
I also take medication in the morning. Having them with room temp water makes me want to gag. It's improved my life.
No but I did see an IG post where a mother told her young child “if you want to buy another Stanley cup, you have to throw away one of the cups we have at home”
Like…what
The only people I have seen talking about Stanley Cups are Americans. Haven't seen anyone else talking about them. Stop being so sensitive, you're getting upset over nothing.
I realise I follow people's opinions too much because I was SOOO excited until I read this thread like ok ig we moved on from Stanley's before I even got my first 😭
The culture around these is so strange. Like I don't get attaching so many accessories to a water bottle to essentially turn it into a handbag. Just have a handbag! Who wants to lift a 10 lb weight to their face every time they want to drink something??
Cute but seems a bit late in the game as the hype around them seems to be dying down. I'm a loyal Hydroflask girlie anyway, bought one in 2014 and it's still going strong with a small dent in the bottom.
Absolutely fine if you don’t like Stanley cups, but you don’t need to make not liking Stanley cups apart of your personality. I think some people need to be reminded that hating on something popular doesn’t make you interesting.
backlash against fads, especially ones that are young women/femme coded, always make me roll my eyes.
people are allowed to like things! and spend money on things that make them happy!
if someone's hobby is collecting water bottles, then good for them.
edit: individual consumer choices will not save our planet!
[collecting them like Funko Pops is so wasteful though](https://www.wired.com/story/stanley-cup-quencher-environment/). overconsumption is bad no matter what gender it's associated with.
> Heiges argues that, despite Stanley’s emphasis on waste reduction and recyclability, **the company still operates within the framework of linear consumption by continuing to work toward the primary goal of selling more bottles**. In a linear model, or a “make-use-dispose” model, products ultimately end up as waste.
But what exactly is it that makes collectors so happy about these cups? Do you enjoy the superior way it holds liquids? Great. Buy one. Buy a backup for when you’re washing the other one. If you have 27 and most never come out of the package and you buy all sorts of accessories to clip onto your water holder then you’re 100% hoarding trash because your peers are. That should be criticised just like all other “collectible” garbage. Environmental waste doesn’t get a pass because it’s pink and sparkly.
"let people enjoy things!!" i shriek as i throw old tire after old tire into the ocean. "people are allowed to like things and buy things and have fun!!" i holler as i shoot funko pops out of a cannon directly into a landfill. people can do whatever they want, and i am also allowed to take issue with people thoughtlessly throwing their money into wasteful overconsumption and gooning for corporations that wouldn't piss on the earth if it was on fire
edit: "individual consumer choices will not save the planet!!" i yell, instantly absolving me of all personal responsibility to not be a braindead, wasteful consumer with no consideration for whether or not my money is going to a corporation that is actively destroying the planet as we speak as i pour gallons of sunscreen directly onto the great barrier reef
> "let people enjoy things!!" i shriek as i throw old tire after old tire into the ocean. "people are allowed to like things and buy things and have fun!!" i holler as i shoot funko pops out of a cannon directly into a landfill.
I cackled at this
But also yes. People act like being against something like this is tantamount to bullying little girls and slapping their cups out of their hands in public. I'm very capable of thinking something completely sucks and also going about my day.
the statement “let people enjoy/like things” is massively overused and wrong. it just tells people they can’t be critical of anything, and usually shows up when overconsumption and capitalism is brought up. it’s fine to be a hater, good and healthy even.
edit: what an absentminded, selfish comment to make! try again!!
You can understand that corporations are responsible for a huge chunk of pollution and carbon emissions and still want to be more eco-friendly on an individual level. Those two are not mutually exclusive. Individual consumer decisions ARE important
This screams desperate for younger clients. I like Olivia but this design screams middle school for me.
Also as a European I never understood why Stanley cup was so popular. There were already even better cups being sold why this one is famous.
This brand was ruined for me by the overconsumption tik tok craze. I ended up donating my jug I bought a few years ago. I don’t want to be associated with the delusion. Shame because they had some quality products. The amount of colors/collaborations/special editions they come out with now is insane.
Can someone explain to me this craze of adult sippy cups? Why are people lugging around these ridiculous things like they don’t know when they might see water again? I sincerely don’t understand it.
I am a massive Canucks fan (NHL) and every day this trend gets me at least once. I have made an idiot of myself so many times saying things like “I don’t think you can the Stanley Cup in pink” and “oh I thought it was bad luck to drink from the Cup if you didn’t win it”.
my husband loved his green stanley for work but only used it once for making hot chocolate in winter and has not touched it since ☠️ it really died down

not gonna lie i thought the Stanley cup trend was basically over - they're on 50% clearance at Target all the time. surprised they can still afford an Olivia Rodrigo sponsorship. also every time i see someone talk about a Stanley Cup i think about hockey
This is their attempt to stop the “uncool” downfall they were headed towards. Even with Olivia they will be there sooner than later I think
Can't wait for all the 'little joys' and companion accessories ending up in landfills in perfectly usable condition 😍
Nah, I'll wait for the Katy Perry 'Sexy Confident' collab with stupid plastic donuts and lollipops and stuff to stick on.
I don't own a Stanley (nor want one) but ngl the accessories tempt me and my dead lil maximalist heart lol. But I can use my Owala as a weapon so it'll always win.
It’s weird bc this collab got teased months ago, but it’s only coming out now!

I need to fix my TikTok algorithm because I get an obnoxious amount of “pack my Stanley with me” videos on my FYP.
honestly i kind of love watching them bc i’m just. absolutely floored by the concept of “pack my water bottle.” you mean… put water and ice in it?? what is this over consumption nonsense?
They infuriate and fascinate me 🤣 I sort of get the appeal of the crossbody-style bottle or tumbler holders that have a pocket to stash keys, cash/cards, a lip balm. Like that would be great if you’re running errands or walking the dog. But the people that get bumpers and tags and air pod holders and snack trays? C’mon, now 😆
Wjaaaat this is insane
I hope you have Instagram 😆 https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8ke89lAmQb/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
It’s not even regular ice they got special ice molds for them!
isn’t the point of them they keep your drink cold all day?? why do you need special ice!!!
The little snack trays get me
i saw one where she was packing her stanley for a walk. which naturally included the stanley, that little pouch you clip to it for keys/card/cash/phone, the chapstick/sanitizer clip things, plus the loaded snack tray. like you’re gonna carry ALL of that, keeping your arm at a 90 degree angle so nothing spills? your elbow is gonna hurt bad. i mean i just carry my keys, phone, and airpods when i go on a walk but i guess i’m doing it wrong.
I saw that one! Was it the “hot girl walk” one? Which is somehow different from a normal walk.
I watched some TikToks by a woman who pokes fun at TikTok over-consumerism and now I get the over-consumption videos like “pack my Stanley”. I watch those and re-stock videos because they are hypnotic in their bizarreness
DepressionDotGov! Love her
They should’ve done this months earlier.
That’s probably when talks started.
They probably made the deal at the height of popularity. Now they are ready to sell, the popularity has died down. Although I bet these will sell
Yeah this collab got leaked last year.
As a HS teacher I can confirm that 80% of the girls here have one.
>also every time i see someone talk about a Stanley Cup i think about hockey I only learned about these cups' existence last year lol. The only one that matters. ![gif](giphy|kdRpyreqK8Ovax7HMT|downsized)
I think hockey too. And I'm not a hockey fan. Plus, these look like awkward sippy cups for adults. Does anyone who owns one *actually* like them?
I like mine. It’s convenient at work or while driving because of the handle. I wouldn’t use it to walk around with though.
Yeah, driving makes sense for sure. I don't have a car, so I was thinking more walking around with it.
i love mine, it's huge and keeps my water frozen the way i like. i keep it on my work desk so i'm always sipping water and drink two full cups everyday! it was very expensive though, so i don't understand it being just a fad. to me one is enough for the next ten years at least lol

that's what I don't get, you can't really shove them in a bag like you can a standard water bottle
Yeah I like mine. It lasts most of the day, fits in car cup holders, and is dishwasher safe. I’ll still be using it long after it becomes uncool.
I have one and I love it. I work from home and keep it at my desk. It’s not a “real” Stanley though, I got mine from Simply Modern for half the price and put a ton of stickers on it. I’ve been thinking of getting another one so I have a spare when the main one is dirty but the collecting frenzy is insane to me
I own a knock off one and I use it a lot around my house. I wouldn't take it out though, it's too heavy when filled.
You’re a person of culture to me for thinking of the Stanley Cup first (I’m Canadian)
it doesn't help the first round of craze for these was around the time of the last Stanley cup lol i thought it was some promo for it
Well they made so much money during the peak that they can afford to reinvest in marketing
they are trying to revive it
Stanley is a long running established brand even before the cups went viral
I just don't get how Stanley is so popular but if you knock them over, they spill. That's a dealbreaker for me.
I don’t have one, but I theorize that a big part of it is the ease of which you can put it in a cup holder in the car. Like lots of the Yetis don’t fit well, but idk about other brands like hydroflask.
My son’s Owala doesn’t fit into the cup holder in the back, and it drives me crazy. Luckily they’re spill proof, but still.
My partner’s Owala doesn’t fit our back cup holder either and it drives me crazy, too!
There might be like an 'adapter' you can buy. Just something that fits in the cup holder with a bigger spot on the top for the owala
[there is!!](https://a.co/d/0cLChhkz) i just bought some because my hydroflask doesn’t fit in my cup holders either
They don’t fit in our main cup holder up front. My husband loves his but it’s a pain in the ass in the car. I have two Stanley dupes that do and they’re nice mostly for the car.

Hydrapeak tumblers are usually under $20 at TJ Maxx.
My wife got one just because she loves having super cold ice water. And the ice will last in there nearly two days it’s nuts.
Hydro flask came out with some after Stanley😂 but theirs don’t spill! 10/10 recommend and I think they’re cuter
Contigo is fantastic. No spill and fits in the car. I don’t get Stanley.
I’ve had my contigo for years. Never lets me down. Plus you can go on their website and replace the rubber gaskets if you need to. Mine is dented and worn and still going strong.
I have a top handle one (30 oz) that is spill proof bc the straw tucks in. The hype is annoying bc I hate the overconsumption of it but products are actually pretty solid imo
I have the same one and I love it. I had the one in the picture and didn’t love it, but the flip top straw with the top handle is perfect
What cup doesn’t though? I think it’s a bit apples and oranges to compare them to a water bottle
Apparently Stanley does have competitors with very similar cups that are leak-proof.
I’ve knocked down my simply modern cup from target a couple times and it’s never leaked! It has a straw too
Esp with kids 😬
My favorite reusable cups are the ones that 1. don't leak and 2. are actually easy to clean.
My whole nursing class had the Stanley cups when they got popular lmao 😭 it was just hell whenever someone accidentally knocks it over during class. But rn the new rising one is the owala bottles
I swear if I start seeing Owalas everywhere 😩 God damn why are water bottles a trend
They are everywhere where I live 🤷🏻♀️ $20 each at Costco and keeps ice frozen in them for my kids in their non AC school. Works for me.
Nalgene, Hydroflask, now Stanley all had their moments as the It Water Bottle. It's wild.
Don’t forget Camelback, Swell and Yeti!
I’m a yeti girl bc i need insulation. I’ve had 3 types for at least 12 years. Plus, they cut ties with the nra. They should have accepted that money but you know…
It's not like there's exclusivity to insulation though. Plenty of brands (even no name) offer it. I have an owala one, stays cold for over 12 hours
That brand is newer, so yay for probably cheaper ones but it wasn’t around like 10-12 years ago.
Nalgene has been a bedrock in the hiking community since 2003 or so.
It’s been me and my Nalgene against the world since 2010. They’re indestructible. I also got a hydroflask in 2019–still love that girl.
I use mine every single day and have no plans on stopping.
Same. I’ve lost and repurchased them several times now because they’re my favorite for water and usually still cheaper than all the other options. I don’t usually like my water cold unless it’s super hot outside, though, so I don’t need the insulation.
Nalgene dominated for years and years though. I wouldn't call it a moment
Stanley has been around just as long, TBF
I didn’t know Nalgene had one
I don’t think they have an insulated bottle - just the plastic or stainless steel varieties that’ve been around for ages.
I still have my Nalgene water bottle from 2017 😂
I love a good insulated large drinking cup. And I would never buy a used one, I’m weird like that. However I’ve never bought that particular brand.
I was a part of the Hydro Flask generation lol and mine is still going strong after all these years.
At least you can properly close a hydro flask. I can’t deal with cups with open straws that leak everywhere.
I’m the same. I have no fucking desire to be cleaning a straw every day. It’s so stupid but it’s too much. I have a regular screw top water bottle that doesn’t spill. $9
Right? And now I have a straw that I have to clean. WTF how is that useful of convenient?
My hydro flask is about 7 years old, beat to shit, still holds a seal and keeps everything cold! 💜
Hydroflask ftw. That bitch keeps my stuff cold for so long. No spills, and a handy protein powder compartment.
I had to block the Stanley subreddit a few months ago bc the fad was so unavoidable that even Reddit kept showing me posts about it (I did actually click on the first post I saw, so it was my own fault lmao but still) I don’t understand it.
Oh my god they sell accessories for them now too. It really turns my stomach.
I saw a few in John Lewis and just thought “45 fucking pounds and it’s not even leakproof”. What’s the bloody point!
Yes as someone who does a lot of walking / public transport I can’t imagine having this dangling off one hand / arm all the time (as couldn’t have it in a bag)…but I guess that’s what some people like; having them almost like an accessory / handbag!
I just bought a fake one in B&M for £4.50 and to be fair I am really enjoying it. I could never justify buying a branded one though.
In real life, a lot of people at my workout classes have moved onto the Owala.
I LOVE my Owala
I love my Owala. The free sip spout reigns supreme.
I got a Zulu recently for the gym. Stanley is great for WFH but was too much for gym. Bought my Zulu for $10
Yeah I’m not even seeing resale value with these. They’ll all be in a landfill in 3 years.
I can't imagine how dirty it gets when your walkin around malls and such
That’s why I don’t do straw. Contigo is the way.
there's caps you can buy on amazon for like a dollar. are you under the impression that people don't wash their cups when they get home? Is it not the same thing going around a mall with a starbucks drink or whatever else requires a straw?
I don’t understand this comment lol raw dogging a straw? How else are you supposed to drink from a straw? Pls don’t tell me there are straw condoms.
Nobody is superior because they refuse to buy a stanley lmao I also take medication in the morning. Having them with room temp water makes me want to gag. It's improved my life.

saying that to someone who said it helps her to take her medication is wild
I bought the cheaper Owala version as sign of defiance against the Stanley gang.
the tweens are gonna eat this up
These things are a massive example of overconsumption.
did you see that girl on tiktok with a whole wall of stanleys . absolutely ridiculous
No but I did see an IG post where a mother told her young child “if you want to buy another Stanley cup, you have to throw away one of the cups we have at home” Like…what
Kill me. — A retail worker who has to find these things for online orders amid everyone hiding/stealing them
My French ass not fathoming how a popstar is going to collab with a liquid container. Capitalism is gonna capitalise I guess
Americans seem to be the only ones obsessed with these things. I don't get it at all.
White American culture is consumerism with a dash of weird Christian based hangups.
A very big dash
I’m American and I don’t care about them ugly cups
yes, americans are the only people in the whole world who have latched on to something useless to obsess about.
The only people I have seen talking about Stanley Cups are Americans. Haven't seen anyone else talking about them. Stop being so sensitive, you're getting upset over nothing.
Did you actually report me to Reddit cares bc of this lol? I’m not upset I just thought it was a stupid comment 🤷🏼♀️
just what the world needed..
As crazy as the Stanley cup thing has gotten/been, I’m all for people staying hydrated especially with this sickening heat.
more mass consumerism 😍
I can’t deny that I want it I’m sorry guys I’m such a consumer
I don’t own any Stanley’s so I can justify this being my one purchase lol
exactlyyyyyyyy
I realise I follow people's opinions too much because I was SOOO excited until I read this thread like ok ig we moved on from Stanley's before I even got my first 😭
Everyone you know under the age of 26 is gonna be insufferable about this
The culture around these is so strange.
People were fighting over Target Exclusives, and teens are already begging for those. The scalping of these will probably be crazy
oh yes world need another color of these cups that became the joke of rueusability
it’s so cute! i already have the light purple stanley so i can’t even convince myself i need this though 😔
It just got gems stuck to it babe you can diy this
i think it’s vinyl but you’re right!
Just bedazzle it
Someone's gonna get trampled in a Target for this.
I’ve never been interested in owning a Stanley but this one is so cute I might actually cave in lmao
Big dumb cup
get in there, josh!
![gif](giphy|Se0ESSVU53ljxYIchN|downsized)
![gif](giphy|AgPt9udT567spxbSHf) Get your bag Olivia, It’s cute and I want one.
They look so bulky and unpractical to carry around.
![gif](giphy|Se0ESSVU53ljxYIchN|downsized)
Oh no
She’s too late 😭 Now the craze is those Owala water bottles… capitalism is a disease
stanley’s are so nerdy to me. she’s supposed to be the anti cheerleader who’s a cheerleader but too cool to be a cheerleader lolol
Absolutely fine if you don’t like Stanley cups, but you don’t need to make not liking Stanley cups apart of your personality. I think some people need to be reminded that hating on something popular doesn’t make you interesting.
I thought and hoped the Stanley craze was over
Wow, what guts she has.
so this is in fact the cutest thing ever
Stanley cups are stupid
![gif](giphy|bN4Gf6GEs9OtW)
I already have a sippy cup, when does the new blankie come out?
People saying that Olivia was an attempt to make Stanley’s “ cool again but I don’t actually know anybody target age who thinks she’s “ cool”
backlash against fads, especially ones that are young women/femme coded, always make me roll my eyes. people are allowed to like things! and spend money on things that make them happy! if someone's hobby is collecting water bottles, then good for them. edit: individual consumer choices will not save our planet!
"people are allowed to like things and buy things and have fun!!" i holler as i shoot funko pops out of a cannon directly into a landfill. people can do whatever they want, and i am also allowed to take issue with people thoughtlessly throwing their money into wasteful overconsumption and gooning for corporations that wouldn't piss on the earth if it was on fire edit: "individual consumer choices will not save the planet!!" i yell, instantly absolving me of all personal responsibility to not be a braindead, wasteful consumer with no consideration for whether or not my money is going to a corporation that is actively destroying the planet as we speak as i pour gallons of sunscreen directly onto the great barrier reef
> "let people enjoy things!!" i shriek as i throw old tire after old tire into the ocean. "people are allowed to like things and buy things and have fun!!" i holler as i shoot funko pops out of a cannon directly into a landfill. I cackled at this But also yes. People act like being against something like this is tantamount to bullying little girls and slapping their cups out of their hands in public. I'm very capable of thinking something completely sucks and also going about my day.
it makes me roll my eyes when people classify overconsumption as femme-coded and therefore beyond criticism
plus you have to ask, is the product genuinely femme-coded, or is it just marketed heavily towards women?
the statement “let people enjoy/like things” is massively overused and wrong. it just tells people they can’t be critical of anything, and usually shows up when overconsumption and capitalism is brought up. it’s fine to be a hater, good and healthy even. edit: what an absentminded, selfish comment to make! try again!!
damn I must be healthy as fuck then
> it’s fine to be a hater I feel so validated right now.
You can understand that corporations are responsible for a huge chunk of pollution and carbon emissions and still want to be more eco-friendly on an individual level. Those two are not mutually exclusive. Individual consumer decisions ARE important
being a hater is also very femme coded🙄 i'm a hater first, woman second
I admit I def don’t understand it, but all the NLOG “I don’t use a Stanley” is way more annoying
There’s something off about her lips in this pic and I can’t figure out what
NOT THE LEAD CUPS! NooOoOOo not the forever chemicals!!!
Wake up babe, new mass consumerism nightmare dropped!
These cups contain lead, save yourself
Better than single use plastic water bottles 🤷♀️ (and cuter 💜)
I am a massive Canucks fan (NHL) and every day this trend gets me at least once. I have made an idiot of myself so many times saying things like “I don’t think you can the Stanley Cup in pink” and “oh I thought it was bad luck to drink from the Cup if you didn’t win it”.
I thought Stanley was an actual person till I saw the comments
I got a Stanley and truly hated it
my husband loved his green stanley for work but only used it once for making hot chocolate in winter and has not touched it since ☠️ it really died down
Even though they're ugly and I hate the shape I still kinda want one? Lmao the power of branding and trends
