I love James Marsden, he is exceptional in everything he's in. It's always a delight to start watching something and find out he's in it.
I think he's just more interested in comedy than "Drama", so he doesnt do the Oscar bait or action movies that male actors have to do to be super famous. But thats also what I really appreciate about him- he seems like he knows what he likes and what he does well & isnt swept up in the whole Hollywood thing.
I binge watched it all recently, and just when you're 6 seasons in and you think the show cant possibly get any better, James Marsden shows up. Honestly, genius casting.
I adore him in Enchanted. He was just so sickeningly charming in the best way. Totally believable for the character he was playing and so handsome too .
I often wonder if it was just bad luck that Hugh Jackman got cast as Wolverine. Ppl just **lost their shit** over him and I think Marsden/Cyclops got sidelined in future movies. I feel like X Men should have been a bigger platform for him than it ended up being.
Agreed with both of those. I was just watching him in dead to me and he just always has a good energy on screen. And I saw some depth I haven’t seen in his other characters even though the show is (mostly)campy. He played his dramatic scenes well (I don’t want to give anything away). And Merrit is just wonderful
Yes! Although I did go with the 'James Marsters?' first and he came out int he same time as Jason Marsden and I confused those as a young kiddo - this is the one who WASN'T DJ's boyfriend on Full House, but the Disney prince live action stand in with few lines. He's fallen more into the cartoon role, which is interesting (Disenchanted, Sonic, I think Hop? one of those bunny movies).
At the time, I thought Games of Throne's main cast will have much bigger careers after the show. They were everywhere and on their way to A lister status. However, I do love that Gwendoline Christie, Pedro Pascal and Richard Madden being the most popular of the cast these days.
I feel like every time someone is on a show for that long they just never manage to get any bigger roles afterwards. Same with the ppl from Smallville, Vampire diaries etc
I think that's why Ellen Pompeo stayed with Grey's for so long, she knew she probably wasn't going to get another such lucrative role so she may as well milk that one for all it's worth.
Well in the case of Pompeo she was in one of the most lucrative roles that exists. Being a main TV actor on a show with 10+ seasons *is* the big time. By the end she was making $5M a year in syndication plus $500K per episode, just under $20M annually with every component thrown in. And for no auditions, no variety of characters, just part of the year she shows up and slogs through a slate of episodes. To make roughly what someone like Meryl Streep pulls down in a year.
Definitely. She got almost two decades of regular, exceptionally well paying work and is effectively retiring in her mid 50s worth enough that neither her nor any of her descendants needs to work for the next 100 years. But I think at some point she realised she wasn't going to parlay that into similarly lucrative roles post-Greys so she might as well stick with it til the show ended or she was ready to retire.
I don’t think she’s retiring yet. She announced she was gonna be in this grey’s season much less because she’s actually filming for a hbo show as well (i believe). And then announced she’s actually leaving grey’s so maybe she liked the change of shows or was waiting for a safety net (being cast elsewhere) before actually leaving grey’s
It's definitely a double edged sword when people get famous on a big show, the audience immediately associates them with that character. Unless they've done other work before its really hard for them to convince people they have range.
Also, lots of them aren't very good actors, they were just perfect for that role.
Though I kinda disagree about the GoT cast- Jason Momoa obviously, Sophie Turner did a bunch of movies before taking a break to have kids, Emilia Clark has done quite a few big films and is the face of a bunch of big brands. Pretty much all the other actors were and still are famous british character actors.
That happens so often with CW shows. If it’s a teen show the actor generally comes back to a different CW show later on
Love that Jensen Ackles kind of broke CW containment after Supernatural with The Boys. The network gets a lot of flack (majority deserved even if I will consume it all regardless) but each show has like two or three people that can really just act™️ so it’s nice to see them do other projects
Yeah this is true. Looking at the stable of CW shows of years past (like Gossip Girl, Supernatural, TVD, OTH, etc) it’s interesting seeing which ones are talented and manage to break out, and which ones end up in Lifetime films and recurring arcs on different CW shows
Sometimes, I wonder if they just figure they've made enough cash and decide to invest and live on their savings and investments. With how massive that show was for a good decade, you know the main cast has got to be pretty set, and I wonder if some of them are just satisfied with what they've done.
I know Peter Dinklage did a movie this past year, and Emilia Clarke had that rom com, but I'd honestly love to see something with Lena Headey in it. And Nikolaj Coster-Waldau? 🥵 Pleaaaase
I wish her music career had taken off, her pop songs were all really fun. I feel like her label really didn’t try. It’s a shame that she didn’t have a major label backing her during the Heartstrings era.
It’s such a fun song, I love that it managed to end up on an episode of Gossip Girl too. She had an unreleased song called Body Control which was also really good.
My god, if we got a Penn/Leighton reunion in a full season of You...
I would die of happiness. They’re the best two anyways, and they’re still friends!!! She was his first guest on his podcast 😍😍😍
I’m always so excited to see Lee Pace! He was so perfect recently in Bodies Bodies Bodies. *I feel like another actor in that role could’ve been insufferable.
But I just want this man to make pies.
I think that this is a major factor. There is a Glass ceiling for lgbtqai+ people in the Entertainment industry. Most people who are at the top are straight and cis, in an industry that has legions of queer people.
Luke Evans and Wentworth Miller don't have that much of a career either
He played an amazing Neal Caffrey in White Collar and was absolutely believable as a straight man. It's sad if it's really his sexuality that is affecting his ability to get roles because his personal life shouldn't have any bearing on how good he is for a role. So many handsome stars are married and it doesn't hurt their appeal. That man is beyond beautiful and who he loves doesn't change that.
This is another reason I hate it when people try to force actors out the closet because they think they’re “queerbaiting” - it can ruin their career :/
ohh the throwback... i was obsessed with chuck back in the day. where the HELL is yvonne strahovski these days? after she landed dexter i figured she would blow up... but then dexter went sideways in terms of story so maybe that didn't help.
edit: just wiki'd my crush from 10-yrs ago and see she's been in handmaid's tale. too heavy for me, i love her so ty but no.
Also I hate to say it but I wonder if his being gay impacted his perceived viability as the leading man type. He has that perfect chiselled Henry Cavill look but I wonder if studios were reluctant to cast him as a romantic lead because the fantasy that he's attainable to straight women isn't there. I hope I am wrong though!
Quite possible. I went to a prestigious drama school & the gay male actors are still told by teachers and agents that they shouldn't come out publicly, because it will make them less employable. It can work if you're a character actor, but it's definitely still not seen as desirable in a leading man.
Exactly, Henry has a very distinctive nose which gives him a bit of character, but Matt is an uncanny valley sort of good looking. More like an elf than a human.
He’s in Doom Patrol with Brendan Fraser, Diane Guerrero, and April Bowlby. Granted his role and Brendan’s is primarily voice acting, they do show up sometimes.
i liked her in shiva baby :) yeah really expected her to stay as big as she was on glee, she’s mesmerizing to watch. i need to see her indie movies (im pretty sure she chose to go that route and have a smaller career bc she’s more into being an artsy gal than a big celeb, which is understandable post-glee)
Was that movie good? I heard it was a flop and all I remember was her and Alex Pettyfer dating and me thinking it was a PR relationship but it was actually real, and he was apparently not so good to her
I thought Dane DeHaan was gonna have a big career after appearing in Chronicle, The Place Beyond the Pines and Kill Your Darlings but then The Amazing Spider Man 2, A Cure for Wellness and Valerian happened. He’s gonna be in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer next year so maybe his role in the movie will have people talking about him again.
Nick Robinson, I know he’s been in a few things, but it felt like he was being set up to be an IT guy, like a Tom Holland, but then he wasn’t. Maybe I imagined that.
He definitely wants to be seen as older. But him in Maid was absolutely shocking. He was so fucking good in it him playing an abusive drunk was completely unexpected. He should have been nominated for an Emmy. He just completely shocked me and was unrecognizable to me.
I think it’s because he ended up going to college honestly. Also he didn’t want to keep playing a teenager, but those are the roles he’s offered I think
A favourite in Tudors and GoT. Also in the hunger games movie. Recently lead actress in a mini series City of Angels. And a role in the critically acclaimed The Professor and the Madman. AND she was on Elementary for a couple of years. She has had a fruitful career with steady work since the age of 25.
I wouldn’t mind seeing her in more though since I love her in every role she takes on.
I once saw an interview with Matthew Lillard where he recounted that Wes Craven told him on the set of Scream: "You are going to win an Oscar one day". The interview was quite recent and he actually seemed a little bitter that his career hadn't taken off more.
For real! He has so much charm and is so committed to every role he does. He's not afraid to go balls to the wall for his characters, and that's something I genuinely respect in an actor. He may be older now, but I think there's still time for him. Here's hoping someone gets him the role that lands him the Oscar.
Mena had terrible agents that were more interested in sexually assaulting her as a 16 year old girl than getting her roles after American pie (read her biography for details)
I think Mena Suvari was just a teenage typecast because of her looks. When she grew older, it didn't really work anymore and she didn't fit other roles that well.
This show is so underrated! I wish they would bring it back. The cast was great.
Her show Trophy Wife was also so good. She’s been involved in some really great projects tbh. She was really good in The Comeback as well.
I loved that show! There are too many shows that are only a season or two that are criminally underrated. Either they didn’t hit at the right time or the marketing wasn’t accurate or visible enough (I’m still salty about Dont Trust the B in Apt 23)
I think she is just one of the most beautiful women on the planet. I think I learned i could be attracted to both men & women after watching smallville between her and Tom. Just pretty people to look at!
I honestly though that Hailee Steinfeld would be bigger than she is rn, especially since she's genuinely talented at what she does. But she's also still super young so one right career move could take her to new heights.
Hailee Steinfeld is everywhere! She’s the voice of Spider-Gwen in Into the Spiderverse which was massively popular, the voice of Vi in Arcane which people loved, she’s Kate Bishop in Hawkeye and future projects, and Dickinson was a huge show for Apple
^i ^love ^her
I agree about Hailee. She’s definitely working, but she’s not someone with a lot of buzz surrounding her. I have always been surprised that she isn’t more popular considering she’s pretty, can sing, and it a great actress.
she was amazing in Dickinson!!! always great at angsty young unlikeable characters, i liked the edge of seventeen too. hope marvel will show her range? and i love her couple singles as shower bops. also she’s 💅🏼 & is my celeb crush so im just waiting for her to be an it girl so everyone sees what i see
I thought Dakota Fanning would have a bigger career. I thought she would end up being some young Oscar winner or something. I feel like I haven’t really seen her in anything since twilight.
I don't think Dylan was as into acting for a while. I know they both went to college, but it seems like after Cole was right back into acting while Dylan opened his mead brand and I think he's done some comic books or something. It's only in the last couple years that Dylan has picked it back up. I also haven't seen his latest projects so no clue if he's good enough to get out of like B/C level roles.
Remember when the internet was obsessed with Joseph Quinn for a hot second because of stranger things? I thought he’d be getting roles left and right after all the hype with him but I haven’t heard a peep since the new season came out
Hopefully he has a few things lined up
I mean the season didn’t end THAT long ago. It takes time to film stuff. The next big thing will be the quiet place series which I’m looking forward to.
I thought it was a series too, now I’m reading it’s a movie. I wonder what it’s gonna be? I’d much rather a series that delivers what “*Fear the Walking Dead*” was supposed to in regards to the beginning of an apocalyptic event.
i don't think anyone expected him to blow up the way he did; i assume we'll see more of him after a quiet place.
and like not to be a conspiracy theorist, i also think his open schedule has a lot to do with season 5, regardless of what the duffers say.
In my opinion, Ashley Benson could have made it had she not gotten so caught up in the sauce and prioritized the party scene.
Ashley Tisdale met her husband and quickly became comfortable with his lifestyle. He is a musician/producer and I am not convinced that they are short on cash at all - her Instagram is like a interior designers magazine!
Sophia Bush has never really followed Hollywood's rules, and this likely has stalled some potential projects; she's an activist, and has called out abusive behavior she's experienced on set multiple times.
After the treatment of all the women on set of one tree hill, I understand why Sophia isn’t bigger. I think she has said that she’s very selective about the roles she takes
I'm pretty sure, Ashley Tisdale is fine career wise. She was in multiple HUGE Disney show/movies. I think people sometimes forget she voiced Candace in Phineas & Ferb too 😅. Doubt she's hurting for money.
mena massoud. i really thought that his career was gonna blow up after playing the live action aladdin because (in my opinion) he was really good. but he said that he couldn’t get auditions afterwards and that made me sad a little
I LOVED him in Aladdin. I thought he was great comedically and I find him really charming and attractive. I was really hoping he was gonna blow up. I keep seeing him show up on my firestick in one of those Hallmark style romcoms.
Mena's issue, from someone who's also Egyptian/MENA seems to be that he doesn't look as ambiguous/odd/striking as Rami Malek and doesn't have that tall/hunky vibe Marwan Kenzari (that played Jafar) has that drives Western women crazy
He'd do great in a series rather than movies tbh. There were rumours he'd be cast as a Star Wars character but so far no confirmation :/
He’d be great in a Star Wars role! But yeah I think you are right. I also think there’s still not that many roles for brown middle eastern men so if there is one, it probably goes to Rami Malek ( or more recently Riz Ahmed) instead.
theo james for sure! i was so obsessed with him in divergent and then he kinda fell off but i think with the time traveller’s wife and the white lotus, he’s gonna have a comeback soon.
I say this every time I see something similar- I genuinely thought Sophia Bush had the potential to become a fantastic rom-com lead after One Tree Hill.
But then we stopped having rom-coms in the cinema, and Mark Schwahn being a pig probably ruined that for us too.
They can’t act and I think they’re handsome-adjacent, especially Cole. There’s something about their faces that makes them fall just short of hot, and considering they can’t act, they need to reach fully hot to really make it.
Most of the cast from LOST I’m surprised didn’t have bigger careers after the end of the show. The only actors that seems to have really broken out are Daniel Dae-Kim and Evangeline Lily. Lily is really only through the MCU but not as popular to other female actors that are part of the MCU. The fact that the likes of Josh Holloway, Matthew Fox, and Jorge Garcia haven’t really had noteworthy careers post-LOST is astounding. Heck, some of the actors from Game of Thrones seem to be adjacent to big projects.
Celebs who I thought would have bigger careers:
* Josh Hartnett once upon a time, he seems happy now doing smaller roles and being a family guy though
* Carey Mulligan, I swear she was big for a hot second and then I never heard about her again after she got married to one of the Mumford and Sons
* Ashlee Simpson, I liked her music way more then Jessica’s
* Frankie Muniz, talk about a one hit wonder
Many of us tend to assume celebrities all want to be A-List but I think many might just be happy to have steady work, just like how not everyone at work wants to be an exec.
Carey Mulligan will very much stay in films, she's cemented her status as a drama/period film actress, chosen for serious Oscar bait movies, I don't think that will change anytime soon.
I think with people like Carey Mulligan it’s a little too soon to call. She was in that great Promising Young Woman film right before the pandemic. I can imagine the pandemic plus family life may have just meant laying low for a little while. She’s also more serious actress than movie star so I can see her choosing smaller films that get less hype. Like she’s in “She Said” that is literally out right now but it’s not a movie that is on a lot of people’s radar.
I think Josh Hartnet actively shied away from becoming a huge star. BTW He was amazing in the Penny Dreadful series. Some of the best acting I have seen is on that show from him and especially from Eve Greene
Leon Thomas III. He was great in Victorious and he's super talented. He still makes a ton of good music (he was just on SZAs album). I don't know why he doesn't have hits on his own.
Mines Zac Efron I know he's not had a bad career, but he's so typecast based on his looks. He's done some incredible indie films and is such a good actor, I wish he hadn't done Baywatch I think that ruined things for him. Everyone thinks that how he looks all the time that buff so those are the only types of roles he gets cast in
How about Joseph Gordon Levitt? He's a weird one because he DID blow up and work for many years in thr industry. But just when it felt like he was on his way to A-list status he practically disappeared overnight - right around the time Inception came out. I used to get really excited anytime his name was slapped on something.
Logan Lerman I love him in everything he does,he is so cute and seems so likable. Really would love to see him in a dark comedy.
I saw him recently in Bullet Train, which was an odd role IMO. One I think might do well is Dempsey Byrke he is in Disney’s new Willow series,he is super cute has a Val Kilmer meets Jaime Campbell Bowers style. He seems charming as well in interviews.
Halston Sage, she has consistent work at least and was really good on Prodigal Son. But she’s no where near as big as I thought she would of become a few years ago.
Amanda ended up doing more than I thought she would. I always thought she would’ve peaked at Mean Girls but she’s doing alright IMO.
I forgot all about Kate tbh!
frankie muniz !! i thought bc of his success in malcolm in the middle he'd have tones of roles offered to him. haven't heard much about him (or any other MITM cast members excluding bryan cranston) since the late 2000ʼs.
2nd this - I just watched Big Fat Liar with my daughter yesterday and my husband asked wtf happened to Frankie Muniz because he seemingly disappeared.
Last I heard he was in a race car driving accident that left him brain damaged to the point where he couldn't remember his entire childhood or something.
Janette McCurdy. I was always confused why she hadn't done much in her young adulthood and I really liked her as an actress...
But now I understand why 😥
SZA’s clearly having her big breakthrough right now and I didn’t expect it from her at all.
Normani I expected to be huge but she/her team seemed to have missed their window unfortunately.
Ansel Elgort. He was EVERYWHERE a few years back and not even the accusations seemed to affect his career, so I don't know how he doesn't have a career like, let's say, Timothee.
(Do I think he should have a bigger career? No. Am I surprised he doesn't? Definitely.)
Cassandra Steele from Degrassi. She has the IT factor to me. I really thought she would have her big break in the Disney movie Raya, but she was recast. I also really liked her in the LA Complex, but I think the show was ahead of its time and not properly advertised.

Yes! Him on 30 rock opposite Tina Fey is just sooo good

James Marsden is so slept on it’s not even funny. I love him ❤️
He was ridiculously charming in Enchanted and Hairspray.
I adore him in Enchanted. He was just so sickeningly charming in the best way. Totally believable for the character he was playing and so handsome too .
My husband swears that if James Marsden had a different last name (like if he shortened it to Mars), he would have a way bigger career
I always get him confused with James Marsters, since their names are so similar!
My dad gets excited because he thinks Spike is in something, and then he’s highly disappointed when I correct him.
I often wonder if it was just bad luck that Hugh Jackman got cast as Wolverine. Ppl just **lost their shit** over him and I think Marsden/Cyclops got sidelined in future movies. I feel like X Men should have been a bigger platform for him than it ended up being.
he was amazing in 27 dresses. he has perfect charisma and seems to bounce well off of the actresses he plays opposite.
I love him in Hairspray and Dead To Me!!!

I have loved him since Sugar and Spice.
Everyone says he's too good looking
I’ve always thought his looks were far from generic

I feel like Anya Taylor-Joy has a similar weird-but-beautiful look and has taken all the roles.
Sometimes, I wonder if they just figure they've made enough cash and decide to invest and live on their savings and investments. With how massive that show was for a good decade, you know the main cast has got to be pretty set, and I wonder if some of them are just satisfied with what they've done. Bella Ramsey’s been in a few things too, and is starring in The Last of Us.
i’ve always thought Leighton Meester would have a big career after GG.
I wish her music career had taken off, her pop songs were all really fun. I feel like her label really didn’t try. It’s a shame that she didn’t have a major label backing her during the Heartstrings era.
I cannot help but shamelessly bop to “your love’s a drug” by her every now and then. It’s on my “cheesiest songs” playlist that I wholeheartedly love.
It’s such a fun song, I love that it managed to end up on an episode of Gossip Girl too. She had an unreleased song called Body Control which was also really good.
Yep! Her and Penn were the most talented ones in that cast! Someone needs to develop a “You” type of vehicle for her to star in 👌👌👌
I’d love it if she starred in You herself 😭😭😭
My god, if we got a Penn/Leighton reunion in a full season of You... I would die of happiness. They’re the best two anyways, and they’re still friends!!! She was his first guest on his podcast 😍😍😍
She deserves it 💕
Same. However, I’m glad she’s gone the more independent route regarding acting. She’s in one of my favorite movies, Life Partners.
Same!!
She was in a couple of episodes of The Orville and was excellent, it was awesome to see her
I’m surprised Matt Bomer isn’t a giant star especially with how freaking handsome he is!
I think he doesn't get leading man roles because he's openly gay but as a straight woman I would watch that man do anything
I feel that way about Lee Pace. He’s perfection and should have a massive career.
I’m always so excited to see Lee Pace! He was so perfect recently in Bodies Bodies Bodies. *I feel like another actor in that role could’ve been insufferable. But I just want this man to make pies.
OMG, him in The FAll - just beautiful all around.
I think that this is a major factor. There is a Glass ceiling for lgbtqai+ people in the Entertainment industry. Most people who are at the top are straight and cis, in an industry that has legions of queer people. Luke Evans and Wentworth Miller don't have that much of a career either

Just watched a show called Chuck with him, lord have mercy he is so handsome

She played a HUGE role in Handmaids Tale
*plays* She is the centerpiece of that powerhouse show.
Where is Yvonne Strahovski?? She and Elizabeth Moss have acting each other off the screen for the last few years.
I used to love White Collar. The show was so good! Can't believe that I barely see him in anything after that.
I think he's almost too handsome to be super famous, every feature is perfect & symmetrical which makes it oddly hard to remember his face.
Maybe. But then again when they were looking for Christian Grey for fifty shades of grey, a lot of people wanted Matt Bomer for the role.
I think he would have been prefect for Christian Grey!
Maybe but Luke Evans is publically out but still got cast as Gaston and a very believable Gaston and that's Disney
Luke Evans is also gay but he still getting good leading roles left and right.
Yeah, this is how I feel. He is so pretty he barely looks real, you know? He's like someone put Henry Cavill in a prettyboy filter.
The most beautiful man alive, and I will die on that hill.
Dianna Agron. I didn’t think she’d be mega famous but I did think she’d have a steady career post Glee. Naya Riveria too before she passed.
i liked her in shiva baby :) yeah really expected her to stay as big as she was on glee, she’s mesmerizing to watch. i need to see her indie movies (im pretty sure she chose to go that route and have a smaller career bc she’s more into being an artsy gal than a big celeb, which is understandable post-glee)
I soo agree, I really liked her in I am number four
Was that movie good? I heard it was a flop and all I remember was her and Alex Pettyfer dating and me thinking it was a PR relationship but it was actually real, and he was apparently not so good to her
I thought Dane DeHaan was gonna have a big career after appearing in Chronicle, The Place Beyond the Pines and Kill Your Darlings but then The Amazing Spider Man 2, A Cure for Wellness and Valerian happened. He’s gonna be in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer next year so maybe his role in the movie will have people talking about him again.

Idk who this is so I looked him up and there is literally nothing on earth that can convince me this person is 36 human years old
Lmaooo unfortunately that is the perfect description. I genuinely thought he’d be the new Leo once upon a time.
I remember being obsessed w him when the 5th wave came out!!! This just made me nostalgic
Natalie Dormer!!!
Her work on Elementary alone made me a fan. Good to see she's still working but I Need More Natalie!
i need to see more of her she’s so charming
In terms of bigger careers: Skeet Ulrich/ Alicia Sliverstone/ Matthew Lillard/ Mena Suvari/ Malin Ackerman (just to name a few)
That’s really sad 😞
The man’s not dead. It could still happen.
He's fantastic in Good Girls. I'd love to see him get more recognition. Seems like. A great guy too - pretty sure he's on Reddit too right?
Mena had terrible agents that were more interested in sexually assaulting her as a 16 year old girl than getting her roles after American pie (read her biography for details)
Matthew and Alicia for sure!!
At least Matthew gets to voice Shaggy now. They churn out a ton of direct to DVD/stream content
I think Mena Suvari was just a teenage typecast because of her looks. When she grew older, it didn't really work anymore and she didn't fit other roles that well.
Wow I completely forgot about Malin Akerman. Is she still acting?
About Malin Åkerman, she’s done a few stuff here in Sweden but idk if she’s done stuff recently internationally
She was just in the show Dollface with Kat dennings, Brenda song and shay Mitchell
This show is so underrated! I wish they would bring it back. The cast was great. Her show Trophy Wife was also so good. She’s been involved in some really great projects tbh. She was really good in The Comeback as well.
She also did a pretty funny show called Trophy Wife that was just one season but it was so well cast.
I loved that show! There are too many shows that are only a season or two that are criminally underrated. Either they didn’t hit at the right time or the marketing wasn’t accurate or visible enough (I’m still salty about Dont Trust the B in Apt 23)
I remember thinking Kristen Kruek was going to be the next *it* it girl.
I remember seeing her in all those neutrogena adds plastered in seventeen magazine.
I think she is just one of the most beautiful women on the planet. I think I learned i could be attracted to both men & women after watching smallville between her and Tom. Just pretty people to look at!
I lover her!! I just started rewatching Smallville btw
I honestly though that Hailee Steinfeld would be bigger than she is rn, especially since she's genuinely talented at what she does. But she's also still super young so one right career move could take her to new heights.
Hailee Steinfeld is everywhere! She’s the voice of Spider-Gwen in Into the Spiderverse which was massively popular, the voice of Vi in Arcane which people loved, she’s Kate Bishop in Hawkeye and future projects, and Dickinson was a huge show for Apple ^i ^love ^her
She was AMAZING in True Grit.
She got a leading role in Marvel. Onward and upward
Elle has kind of ended up having the grown up career everyone thought Dakota would have
I kind of pictured Dakota to have a Natalie Portman kind of career.
She was in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. She had a small role. And did a series called The Alienist. That's the only things I remember she was in.
Judy Greer deserves better than supporting girlfriend/funny friend roles
Totalllly agree with you. Shes hilarious. Loved her in Married and Arrested Development.
Mischa Barton bc of how popular she got during the early 2000's
She got a bad reputation for being toxic on set. She was a huge drama queen and toxic on DWTS. She isn't a huge star because she's a known asshole.

I’ve always said this but no one listened 😭
Remember when the internet was obsessed with Joseph Quinn for a hot second because of stranger things? I thought he’d be getting roles left and right after all the hype with him but I haven’t heard a peep since the new season came out Hopefully he has a few things lined up
He signed with CAA quickly, which is most unknown actor’s dream. He’s also rumored for a role in the MCU.
Hopefully he got himself a stylist. The clothes were killing me, especially next to Jamie Campbell Bower.
I think he did! On his IG hes got partnerships with Dior and Gucci now. Mans moving up quickly 😵💫
He’s supposed to be in *A quiet place: Day One* opposite Lupita Nyongo.
I thought Ashley Tisdale, Ashley Benson, and Sophia Bush would have become bigger than they did.
Sophia Bush had a main role on Chicago PD and then when she decided to leave signed a huge deal with (I believe) CBS to produce various shows
I so agree!!
I'm pretty sure, Ashley Tisdale is fine career wise. She was in multiple HUGE Disney show/movies. I think people sometimes forget she voiced Candace in Phineas & Ferb too 😅. Doubt she's hurting for money.
It's not that I think Ashley is hurting for money but I figured she would do bigger stuff than Phineas and Ferb after leaving High School Musical.
mena massoud. i really thought that his career was gonna blow up after playing the live action aladdin because (in my opinion) he was really good. but he said that he couldn’t get auditions afterwards and that made me sad a little
I LOVED him in Aladdin. I thought he was great comedically and I find him really charming and attractive. I was really hoping he was gonna blow up. I keep seeing him show up on my firestick in one of those Hallmark style romcoms.
Mena's issue, from someone who's also Egyptian/MENA seems to be that he doesn't look as ambiguous/odd/striking as Rami Malek and doesn't have that tall/hunky vibe Marwan Kenzari (that played Jafar) has that drives Western women crazy He'd do great in a series rather than movies tbh. There were rumours he'd be cast as a Star Wars character but so far no confirmation :/
He’d be great in a Star Wars role! But yeah I think you are right. I also think there’s still not that many roles for brown middle eastern men so if there is one, it probably goes to Rami Malek ( or more recently Riz Ahmed) instead.
theo james for sure! i was so obsessed with him in divergent and then he kinda fell off but i think with the time traveller’s wife and the white lotus, he’s gonna have a comeback soon.
loved him in white lotus, gave a great performance. i'm with you, hope to see him in more movies/shows sooon!
I say this every time I see something similar- I genuinely thought Sophia Bush had the potential to become a fantastic rom-com lead after One Tree Hill. But then we stopped having rom-coms in the cinema, and Mark Schwahn being a pig probably ruined that for us too.
True I think Sophia was born 10 years to late had OTH been in the 90s she would of been rom com queen in the 2000s
Aaron Paul

That’s nasty! He did cheat on his ex btw. Cole did take off though but more for Gen-z I think
I love how factually you stated they can’t act. It’s true.
They can’t act and I think they’re handsome-adjacent, especially Cole. There’s something about their faces that makes them fall just short of hot, and considering they can’t act, they need to reach fully hot to really make it.
Never realized how good looking Dylan is until these pics.
In terms of bigger careers — Logan Lerman In terms of blowing up — Dylan O’Brian finger crossed

He had a short but hilariously campy run on Riverdale a couple years ago.
Matthew Fox had a lengthy career before Lost.
Jorge Garcia was a regular on Hawaii Five 0 for several seasons! Him and Kim overlapped for a few also which warmed my cold Lost heart
Celebs who I thought would have bigger careers: * Josh Hartnett once upon a time, he seems happy now doing smaller roles and being a family guy though * Carey Mulligan, I swear she was big for a hot second and then I never heard about her again after she got married to one of the Mumford and Sons * Ashlee Simpson, I liked her music way more then Jessica’s * Frankie Muniz, talk about a one hit wonder Many of us tend to assume celebrities all want to be A-List but I think many might just be happy to have steady work, just like how not everyone at work wants to be an exec.
One of the Mumford and sons 💀 I absolutely love Marcus Mumford, but this is genuinely hilarious 😂😂
Lol is he the main Mumford?
Yes, he’s the lead singer and technically the only “Mumford” in Mumford and Sons 😂
Yeah Carey Mulligan is more on the Meryl Streep path than the Julia Roberts path. She will definitely win an oscar one day.
Lucy Hale. She was "the star" of Pretty Little Liars and had a singing career. She definitely seemed like she was going to be huge a la Blake Lively.
Cant belueve dylan ended up being the hotter one
I was always team Zack/Dylan hehe
Mines Zac Efron I know he's not had a bad career, but he's so typecast based on his looks. He's done some incredible indie films and is such a good actor, I wish he hadn't done Baywatch I think that ruined things for him. Everyone thinks that how he looks all the time that buff so those are the only types of roles he gets cast in
I thought he did a great job playing Ted Bundy
How about Joseph Gordon Levitt? He's a weird one because he DID blow up and work for many years in thr industry. But just when it felt like he was on his way to A-list status he practically disappeared overnight - right around the time Inception came out. I used to get really excited anytime his name was slapped on something.
It seems like he’s focusing a lot of his energy on Hit Record, plus it really does seem like he’s the type that stepped away for his wife and family.
Oh my god, I haven’t heard about her since my Big Time Rush fangirl days, when she was dating James Maslow
They are a cute couple

Amanda Seyfried was nominated for an Oscar in 2021 and won an Emmy this year!
Amanda ended up doing more than I thought she would. I always thought she would’ve peaked at Mean Girls but she’s doing alright IMO. I forgot all about Kate tbh!
Josh Holloway
frankie muniz !! i thought bc of his success in malcolm in the middle he'd have tones of roles offered to him. haven't heard much about him (or any other MITM cast members excluding bryan cranston) since the late 2000ʼs.
I thought Vera Farmiga was going to be huge after Up in the Air + The Departed
Taylor Lautner.
I don't think he's a good actor
Janette McCurdy. I was always confused why she hadn't done much in her young adulthood and I really liked her as an actress... But now I understand why 😥
Honestly, it’s sad. I’m glad she was able to write and tell her story, and hope it helped with her healing.
I just don’t think hes boyishly handsome anymore so he grew out of his niche and he isnt as talented as timothee
Mena Suvari and Thora Birch should have had bigger careers than they do. They have both been working steadily, but not in any huge stand out roles.
[удалено]
Cassandra Steele from Degrassi. She has the IT factor to me. I really thought she would have her big break in the Disney movie Raya, but she was recast. I also really liked her in the LA Complex, but I think the show was ahead of its time and not properly advertised.
I hope that the success of Dahmer leads to Evan Peters starring in more mainstream stuff that’s not made by Ryan Murphy

This is random but have you seen their acting on Big daddy 😭
