Ninja Steel for sure.
Had potential with the original premise and the Brody and Levi plotline was great in the first season. But even then that stops about halfway through s1 and only comes back for that finale. Outside of those plot focused episodes Brody doesn't really have a personality and some of the episodes have questionable morals but besides that there's nothing really *bad* to complain about, but nothing outstanding either
They wore ninja gear for stealth a few times and we can regularly see them training or at least talking about ninja training. It's something š¤·š¾āāļø
Yeah, I think PR actually tried harder than the Sentai. But not by much.
There was barely anything ninja about Nininger, they're mostly elemental attacks and using gear that's ninja themed.
Most of Neo Saban. I know a lot of people dislike them, but I don't. They got the job done and sold toys but I wasn't chomping at the bit for more. And they each had one thing that made me smile.
Samurai was a lot of this generation's first Power Rangers. I thank it for that.
Megaforce had a couple good stories and I love Orion as a character
Dino Charge had endearing characters. And has my favorite opening of the era
Ninja Steel addressed relationships but also I kinda dig the foam ninja suits
I'm going to include Beast Morphers because Saban studios name is still in the credits, I love the story, the connection to RPM and the characters. But also for going back and adapting Go-Busters
Zeo
Good start, having followed up on the Finale of MMPR, and has some fun episodes(Tommy and Tanya singing everything theyāre saying). Unfortunately thereās some set-ups that ultimately go nowhere, such as an implied romance between Adam and Tanya(opting instead for a dear John letter to Tommy), or Billy mysteriously disappearing every now and then, followed by his underwhelming exit from the series.
It also just sort ofā¦. Ends. āGood as Goldā was probably the most lackluster ending of a Power Rangers season Iāve ever seen, to the point that I forgot that it was the finale for a while. Overall, while hyped up as the next big step for Power Rangers, it felt kind of Superfluous
To me, Zeo had the most potential out of any season. The Rangers having potentially the strongest force in the entire universe against an empire that made Rita and Zeds cower in fear of it. Its so much lost potential.
Then the disappearance of the Zeo powers with no explanation except they do work under water?! Theyāre the strongest power but donāt work under water?! Anyways Rocky should be the only one who has access because he didnāt go with them in Turbo.
Finding out what David Yost had to put up with behind the scenes really puts Zeo into perspective. He got demoted from being a ranger for just existing.
Youre not wrong about the first part. Tho I will say I think billy getting demoted had more to do with billys character vs every other guy ranger. Out of all of them who are they going to keep around without powers. Billy at least had his brains which kept him relevant thru out the whole series. Tommy lost his green powers and he was gone till he got new ones. Whatre they gonna do with a depowered rocky or adam
I agree, I was in the Jason camp of him being the best red but I wasnāt fully on board with Zeo until Jason came back but the whole taking away the gold ranger powers at the end was stupid and it just dropped off with no explanation on what happened to the Zeo crystals and to this day there is so much controversy surrounding them. How did Tommy get the red Zeo transformation and no one else did. Technically shouldnāt Rocky be the only one with the Zeo powers because he didnāt go with them on the adventure because he was in the hospital?
IMO Lightspeed, there's a lot to like. Carter Grayson is perhaps my favorite Red Ranger, but everyone else is just ok. Titanium Ranger is really cool, especially since he is original to PR. They try to give the other Rangers archs like Chad fell in love with a Mermaid, and that just didn't really resonate with me. Dina went through a phase where she wanted to be famous, neglecting her ranger duties at one point. The villains are a mixed bag, and the demons aren't incompetent apart from maybe Viper. The Batlings are straight up silly, and somehow, a group of them destroyed the aqua base. Everything was just ok to me. Even the team ups were nothing too special, I really searched in my mind what sets Lightspeed apart from other seasons, and i really can't think of much. Maybe their helmet desights are unique to the fact they extend over the mouth. They aren't really even the first team that are comprised of working adults cause Lost Galaxy did it first.
I really wished I liked LSR more. I rewatched pretty much the whole season, got a little sidetracked by life before I finished it.
I loved the villains. The demon's designs are maybe second only to the Machine Empire for me.
The concept is just too dry for me to really like it. Definitely not the worst season, just heavily overrated for my taste.
The network hastily ordered more episodes mid season when it became a smash hit, so season one is *long*. Itās why Green Rangerās power depletion keeps coming and going; they were running out of Sentai footage but they also wanted to extend the season and bring the most popular character back.
It doesnāt help that they recycled a lot of plot lines in MMPR (e.g., putties as Power Rangers, Triniās kid friend is in trouble, a Ranger gets trapped inside a monster, Triniās adult mentor friend is in trouble, Pudgy Pig, creepy ass Mr. Ticklesneezer gnome shows up, plant-based monster, Billy finds true love, Rangers go back in time, Rangers are turned into kids, THE DARK DIMENSION! Kimberly turns/acts evil, Kimberly is trapped away from the initial battle, Tommy is preoccupied during initial battle, medley of previous monsters come back for a remix rematch, The Rangers temporarily lose control of their Power Coins or Zords)
MMPR is so often remembered because it a) was the first, b) had colossal popularity when it originally aired, and c) had 60, 52, and 33 (total 145!) episodes across three seasons and a feature length film. Aiy-Yi-Yi-Yi-Yiii, thatās a lot of āItās Morphin Time!ā They canāt all be winners. But as a whole is more fondly remembered then āmeh,ā even if the episode plots get rehashed and reused. IMO, the multipart episodes are the standouts with more exciting and unique storytelling.
Mystic force, it doesnāt overly suck and has bad elements but never goes to the realm of terrible. But it doesnāt ever do anything really good either. It like the rangers in the season, just exists in the background.
It worked for two parts and then got boring at the last part. And it also kind of highlighted why mystic force was kind of mediocreā¦itās the only really good episode and it does that by going against what mystic force has been doing writing wise. Focusing on the rangers themselves as the core front and no focus on the other mystical characters, just the rangers as they fight their way through a undead grave to talk to the tribunal.
Honestly? Mystic Force. Maybe I'm jaded by watching magiranger and how it was just better. But, like, the big reveals you kinda saw coming from a mile away and, idk why but, despite fighting to save and unite the normal and magical worlds, in the grand scheme of rangers, it doesn't feel like it mattered all that much. Like, you would think magical creatures and humans living in harmony would be worth bringing up now and then but I don't recall rangers ever doing it. Heck they didn't even get a proper tribute EP in super megaforce and when that shit show doesn't really tribute you.... well idk what to call that. A blessing or a curse
But..... Forever red ....
Nah I agree with you FTMP.
During the second episode, black ranger leaves his cave/room holding a fuckin teddy bear, mind you, this dude is old enough to have sex with women.
This is a show where super-powered frienda with the power of robot animals fight an Incel God to try and save the environment; I really don't expect maturity in here, it's welcomed for sure, but not a requirement.
If I could have changed it, I would have just given him one of the popular zord toys of the time.
It would have killed many stones with one bird.
Teddy Bear is not childish, it's literally baby-like.
That's my only issue.
Megaforce
Yup, I said it.
It never became abysmal for me, and it may just be nostalgia blinding but I find a good bit of it still entertaining to watch, but the bad really creeps it's way in during the mutant arc, and then again near the end of Super.
Ninja steel is only that suits the is not good but not bad,its in the middle.
Samurai and megaforce being the 2 only bad seasons.
Rest for me is good seasons.(giving credits to might morphin, its the og,so should have some hits and miss, but its good, its just fucking long, dino thunder i would say is more like ninja steel, but i dont think is okay to put these two in the same category just because i think dt is not soo good as others think it is)
Mystic force, I havenāt finished it. Iāve seen the first 10 episodes and I just canāt get into nor want to rush it. Iāll definitely finish it, but itās very meh
Operation Overdrive is more meh in recent years. It's not the worst. I think what helped that season was the anniversary team-up episode with the Retro Rangers.
The range is ninja steel- mystic force. Samurai is in there along with ninja storm and kinda zero but thatās kinda the most meh of the whole series in my opinion.
i think it has to be beast morphers. the whole concept of cyber tech rangers with robots fighting a virus sounds super cool. they had a really strong start but the season overall just felt so meh. nothing outstanding aside from a few moments. nothing terrible either. i felt like i kinda lost attention throughout the series until something cool finally happened.
it seemed promising and they didnāt do anything wrong with this season. but it was just so safe. the whole tech/government theme felt underplayed. the music was still just average neo saban production. the characters were alright, but there was really nobody to love besides steel. the acting was fine, but no stellar performances from what i recall
Dino Super Charge and the second season of Beast Morphers, I donāt think Beast Morphers S1 was as good as everyone was making it out to be but it was definitely unique and was far more entertaining the last season which was Ninja Steel. I feel like Beast Morphers S2 (at least for me) was pretty lackluster and overall they couldāve done a way better job. Itās not bad, it just once again couldāve been better. I have the same opinion for Dino Super Charge (except I think Dino Charge is extremely good and itās one of my favorite seasons)
For it is a toss-up between Jungle Fury and Ninja Steel. I do like Jungle Fury slightly more, but only due to how much I like the white rhino (geki chopper) helmet
Operation Overdrive, for me personally. It came out at the time when I was āoutgrowingā Power Rangers, but still had an interest in the series. I remember liking the twist around the Red Ranger and the crossover episode with some of the past rangers from mighty morphin and the Disney era up to that point. But overall, itās a season that I donāt hate, but I donāt have as much fondness for compared to the rest of the Disney Era.
Yeah Iād say beast morphers or samurai. Both pretty plain and vanilla but definitely have their moments and are by no means bad. Samurai was my sons first so itās got a special place plus Shinkenger was awesome.
People saying Ninja Steel. At least Ninja Steel did a good job at being terrible, but Operation Overdrive just sucked at bad or good. Had everything to make it an A1 PR show, but misses the mark. Had a fantastic goated crossover, brought nothing else after that. Had a great battlizer, doesn't get enough screentime.
Whole show was MEH.
Iām sure this is a hot take but wildforce what kinda meh for me, other than the red or yellow rangers no one else got a chance to shine. How even forever red is one of the greatest ranger media ever and I stand by it.
Turbo. It felt rushed, and the new rangers, while good in Space, just felt, meh. And I don't really get why they needed Justin, or a young kid. There were plenty of other teenagers the Rangers were friends with that could've been another ranger..
Ninja Storm and Mystic Force are the ones that really fit this for me. They have good and bad elements to them and they're both just okay as okay can be.
Iād say Jungle Fury. Personally I enjoy it quite a bit because itās very martial arts focused, but itās pretty mid as far as story and writing goes imo
I mean the lack of them doing anything relating to being ninjas...
If Naruto can get a pass, so can Ninja Steel
Very true.
Most of Neo Saban. I know a lot of people dislike them, but I don't. They got the job done and sold toys but I wasn't chomping at the bit for more. And they each had one thing that made me smile. But also for going back and adapting Go-Busters
Beasts Morphers to me was an interesting take on go busters as I very much enjoyed that season
Deff agree, Beast Morphers was the one I actually watched week to week. The other Neo Saban shows, Id binge watch and skip through episodes.
Zeo Good start, having followed up on the Finale of MMPR, and has some fun episodes(Tommy and Tanya singing everything theyāre saying). Then the disappearance of the Zeo powers with no explanation except they do work under water?! Theyāre the strongest power but donāt work under water?! Anyways Rocky should be the only one who has access because he didnāt go with them in Turbo.
It is very likely that a second season of Power Rangers Zero was planned but the decreasing ratings prevented it from happening.
Finding out what David Yost had to put up with behind the scenes really puts Zeo into perspective. He got demoted from being a ranger for just existing.
Youre not wrong about the first part. Tho I will say I think billy getting demoted had more to do with billys character vs every other guy ranger. Totally disagree. Lightspeed is so good man
That's cool. What do you like about it? Is there anything you think it does better other seasons? Maybe I overlooked some of its good qualities.
I personally feel people underplay the demons as characters, all had great voice actors and Bansheera becoming an absolute lunatic was great
It's my personal favorite
Wtf? Lightspeed is like top 3 seasons
Honestly, samurai
I think thats just all of the Neo Saban era accept Dino Charge and Mega force, both for very different reasonsā¦
Oh definitely, dino charge and super charge were great but megaforce and super shitaforce... let's not talk about them
What about Ninja Steel (including Super Ninja Steel)?
I mean it's not completely terrible, there are some redeeming qualities like dimensions in danger, I for one really enjoy both finales aswell
MMPR S1. Some pretty good moments, sure. But most of the episodes are forgettable and unimportant.

I remember Dark Wish being a pretty dang good 3-parter.

Focusing on the rangers themselves as the core front and no focus on the other mystical characters, just the rangers as they fight their way through a undead grave to talk to the tribunal.
Season 3 of MMPR... it just very awkward in my childhood eyes...
I will have to watch it again but right now my answer is Ninja Steel
Imma say Beast Morphers All other seasons I feel pretty stronggly about, but BM just didn't do much for me
For me it was Lightspeed Rescue and every single one from Neo Saban until Cosmic Fury. Disney Era was superior IMO
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Holey crap!!!!!!!! I did not know that. Wow, that's a lot of wasted potential.
Yeah. The peaks of the season are the crossovers, both Time Force and 4ever Red. Itās not bad, but not one Iād go back for a whole season rewatch.
Exactly. I go back and watch Forever Red occasionally but I don't need to watch the entire season to enjoy it.
But..... Forever red .... Nah I agree with you FTMP. During the second episode, black ranger leaves his cave/room holding a fuckin teddy bear, mind you, this dude is old enough to have sex with women.
Honestly, that's kind of cute, and is a trope really, of the big guy, that is actually pretty kind.
I get that, but wasn't there more mature ways to show that?
This is a show where super-powered frienda with the power of robot animals fight an Incel God to try and save the environment; I really don't expect maturity in here, it's welcomed for sure, but not a requirement.
If I could have changed it, I would have just given him one of the popular zord toys of the time. It would have killed many stones with one bird. Teddy Bear is not childish, it's literally baby-like. That's my only issue.
Jungle Fury is the actual best one. I know everyone will tell you RPM. Ron is fine and all but Jungle Fury is what you want. The Time Force.
Megaforce Yup, I said it. It never became abysmal for me, and it may just be nostalgia blinding but I find a good bit of it still entertaining to watch, but the bad really creeps it's way in during the mutant arc, and then again near the end of Super.
Ninja steel it does its job but nothing really special about it
Lightspeed Rescue
Lightspeed Rescue

Beast Morphers
Lightspeed rescue for sure.
Season 1 of Turbo
Wild Force, it was tooo much preachy for me
Turbo, MMPR season 2, or operation overdrive
Wild Force does some interesting things but the way the scripts were written was kind of blah, and many of the performances were flat.
Honestly? I'm going to go with Jungle Fury.
Iād say Jungle Fury. Personally I enjoy it quite a bit because itās very martial arts focused, but itās pretty mid as far as story and writing goes imo

spd?!? you heretic.
I never knew having an incorrect opinion was possible.
You're not a chronically online as I am, you'll find incorrect opinions way more often.
Bro just say you dont like power ramgers at this point
