What do you mean for your amp? Like to install a stereo amp? I wouldn’t tap into any of the stock wires. You should definitely run a thicker gauge wire with an inline fuse directly to the amp then find a ground near where the amp. Gauge and fuse size would all depend on how many watts the amp is.
I have two 12s and one 18. Looking to run three Walmarts amps in parallel in the trunk. What you see here is for the 37 inch curved dash monitor. Need to find the switch that goes off with the keys...hurry I hear footsteps.
You need to run separate power from the battery for your amps. You should do more research on installing your amps before you go any further or buy anything else. You can find the ignition signal wire in the harness for the radio. You will need to find the pinout for your car model/year to find it for sure.
Usually that's where people tap into power for the head unit instead of the constant 12v. So the radio turns on with the ignition. Head units sometimes have a signal wire to send to the amps to serve the same purpose, power off the amps when the head unit is off.
You need dedicated power of whatever size cable the manufacturer recommends.
You also need to fuse it as close to the battery as possible.
There is no specific wire for an amp you need to work it out from the manual or using a multimeter.
You should always use a meter to be sure.
Then, follow the manual for each wire and "buzz it out"
The switch that goes off with the keys...like the ignition switch for your blue remote wire? Yeah that's fine to hook right at the ignition. Power you need to run direct from the battery, ground is just to ground. RCA you can run from the stereo, or there's a converter that can turn your inline speaker to RCA right in the trunk, and then your speaker level goes to the speakers too.
You will need to change the alternator amperage, get a higher amperage fuse and put in 6 gauge wire to the 180 fuse. Use a lot of fises at the battery to prevent fire. See too many automobiles go Up in Smoke!
As I used to be the neighbor hood kid who’s would wire stereos and amps I learned the hard way by starting a small fire in my trunk . You run power directly to the battery with an inline fuse then your ground to the frame or chassis of the car on an unpainted metal surface.
If you're this deep in a rebuild, I firmly believe you know how to wire an Amp big dog. Unless you just tore things apart with reckless abandon, in which case, Godspeed
Just make a separate car that has a full interior and then make a new car that already has a amp in it the first two cars are still important because trial and error makes a good vehicle
First things first, hook up a battery to make it easier to find the power wire. Make sure you use your bare fingers that are a little damp, this helps locate said wire.
I recommend tapping into a handful of thick looking wires to get a steady average power flow for your amp. Also dont forget to connect it to ground! Very common oversight!
You want a 0 gauge wire with inline fuse running from your battery, down the side of the car it is closest to, then into a junction terminal with one input, and 3 outputs. I’d try to keep everything 0 gauge since you’re gonna run 3 amps. You may need a beefier battery. Then, you’ll hook rca for sub into head unit, and run those wires down the opposite side of the car so your power can’t interfere with your audio signal. Depending on the wattage you’re going for, you may be fine running 0 gauge to distribution terminal and 4 gauge from there to amp. 3 subs could be enough power to dim your lights when they hit. If they do that, expect to need a 1-2 F capacitor between your battery and junction terminal.
Yes.
The blue one
No. No. No. it’s the red one!
Goddammit mcguiver I trusted you
Why?! I’m totally color blind!! It’s on my resume.
I thought it was all of them?
Roger, grab that cat.
I have dark grey, medium grey, light grey
Motherfucker...
Idk if people think you are kidding but that was my first thought as well.

I think he’s joking. I hope he is at least
Ya know I thought this might be a joke post but just in case I wanted to give some honest advice lol
Isn’t there a control wire that comes out of the radio that is specific to this situation for turning an amp on and off?
Usually that's where people tap into power for the head unit instead of the constant 12v. So the radio turns on with the ignition. Head units sometimes have a signal wire to send to the amps to serve the same purpose, power off the amps when the head unit is off.

You are probably going to need a capacitor
Currently extracting flux from my solder gun
A flux capacitor you say?
You will need to change the alternator amperage, get a higher amperage fuse and put in 6 gauge wire to the 180 fuse. Use a lot of fises at the battery to prevent fire. See too many automobiles go Up in Smoke!
Yea that one I think
Nah I think the other one. Could be wrong though
Hopefully Mrs. Hispaniccheeses had a good day at work. She’s gonna be pissed when she sees this poorly planned project
I have it in the backyard. She only knows where the front door is... luckily
Looks like Jesus took the wheel… and the rest of the dash too
That goddamned theif
Cut the thickest bundle you can find and hot glue directly to the terminal on your amp.
There was an ongoing joke in my old workshop that "solder is just really hot hot-glue"
As I used to be the neighbor hood kid who’s would wire stereos and amps I learned the hard way by starting a small fire in my trunk . You run power directly to the battery with an inline fuse then your ground to the frame or chassis of the car on an unpainted metal surface.
That one. No not that one, the other. Yeah, yeah, that one.
This one?
No. Splice that one and you’ll be in deep yogurt. The one next to it.
What that one there?
I'd be more worried about batman standing on the roof of your car in the third pic.
He has no help to give just stopping by to see the woofers
Ideally you should run the heavy gauge cable straight to the battery itself on a fuse
Is this an Accord by any chance? Like 98-02? Edit. Wait no, that's 94-97 right? CD5
Those 80s-90s japanese all plastic shift knobs and rubber boots go hard.
It's an early 90s Legacy.
If you're this deep in a rebuild, I firmly believe you know how to wire an Amp big dog. Unless you just tore things apart with reckless abandon, in which case, Godspeed
The thinner ones give more power. Like how pressure washers have thin hoses sometimes. Tap into the thinnest wire u can find for a better sound
nah bro for the most power you need the ones to the spark plugs, those have the good juice in them.
Have to keep disassembling until you get the the firewall. Almost there
Just make a separate car that has a full interior and then make a new car that already has a amp in it the first two cars are still important because trial and error makes a good vehicle
jump on the couch and when she comes home blame vandals
Solder it to the frame
this guy solders
that one
Battery to capacitor to amp to ground and the. Hook up the head unit to the amp to the speakers
You see that yellow one? That one
The one on the right
To ensure the most power, splice all the red ones together to power the amp.
Get a multimeter. Turn the key to run and find one with power
Oh buddy what the fuck are you doing. There’s no reason to tear apart your entire dash to run amp wiring
Yellow with black tracer
The smallest one you can find
Aww honey
I truly am a music lover, but would never rip my car apart like this for an amp! Cheers to you for the balls and dedication!
The 32nd one in from the left
A big fat red one, into a switch, into your amp, via a fuse. If that needs explaining, get someone else in.
🗿
Mmmm pasta
Try the mainframe
How many taps do you have?
Run a new wire
This is so funny
It’s the green one in the middle,, duh!!
One of them over there
That one right there!
You only need to run a wire from the battery my man …
Red one
Good time to replace the evaporator
First things first, hook up a battery to make it easier to find the power wire. Make sure you use your bare fingers that are a little damp, this helps locate said wire.
That one
Not the red one
Take the power directly from the battery
Direct from battery with inline fuse.
Just pick the thickest one that will be fine
Corolla?
IT’S CALLED GOOGLE
The one that's got copper in the middle with insulation covering it on the outside
one happy one sad
That one. ☝️
I recommend tapping into a handful of thick looking wires to get a steady average power flow for your amp. Also dont forget to connect it to ground! Very common oversight!
The hot wire of course.
Bro took apart the whole dash looking for acc wire
Uh, the wire you want is under the hood.
All of them just to be safe
My brother in Christ, why are you worried about an amp.
The answer is 5, and the red and blue one.
Are you shitting me? For real? Get a new battery and eire it directly to the battery.
*That* one.
There are 2 wires. The big one beside the battery & the yellow wire to turn it on when the radio comes on.
Eenie meanie minie moe

Directly weld the battery posts to the amps terminals
I run mine to the coil. All you sucker's running 12 volts, I'm running 20 thousand.
Heater core?
That one right there next to the other wire
Lol
Lol
