I suggest Citadel servers. I'm pretty sure they have multiple EU servers you can choose from, just not sure where exactly. Their specs are pretty good too with their cheap pricing. Best to inquire for your specific requirements.
Qonzer does Project zomboid, best hosting company I’ve ever been with and ive been with around 4 others before. You can check their trust pilot for credibility and reliability :)
I like GTX Server Hosting. Never used it for 50 tho, maybe 10 at most. Not sure it’s the cheapest, but it’s certainly not the most expensive either. it’s reliable and easy to use.
Honestly also wanna know, couple friends of mine tried to pz in pz but almost none servers were up
I've used g-portal for over a month now and no complaints. However my server is only for me and a few friends. I haven't tried it large scale.
How easy is it to add mods
Real easy. There's a basic server settings page. You just need to copy in the workshop ID and the mod name and it's all set.

Can couch for Citadel servers, they charge based on ram so the 50 player limit OP wants is not a prob

It's a chew on to add mods though
