They are about to enter this weird drought in terms of legends. All the 80s and 90s guys, with rare exceptions, are too broken down to make an appearance. And they didn't build up a ton of new characters during the early 2000s. Santino would get a huge reaction but I can't think of many others that A) Are alive, B) Can wrestle and C) Aren't already with the company (Carlito).
My cousin and I have this same conversation every year and the list keeps getting smaller and smaller and it really makes me sad. I've been calling for X-Pac to get the nod year after year because he deserves it, he's legitimately a pioneer and is one of the most underrated guys of all-time.
We can also look to the current crop of agents and trainers for surprises. You've got Hurricane, Kenny from the Spirit Squad, Matt Bloom (Pick a Gimmick), Tyler Breeze.
Why would they make something like this, and distribute it weeks beforehand? I also have to believe that if they did, it wouldn’t be such a shitty, color coded mess.

Rhodes coming up short and having to win the Chamber this year to get to Roman would be a nice wrinkle in what’s essentially the same lead in as last year. LA is likely going to win the US Title at mania, Cody vs Roman 2 happens regardless of whether Cody wins or not, Priest has the brief case, Uso vs Uso is almost guaranteed at mania, etc
No one else really makes sense to push into the title scene even if we believe Punk vs Rollins was going to happen regardless of the Rumble
I could see Punk losing to Rollins like Cody lost last year since Punk never cared about winning in a Wrestlemania main event, just felt like he deserved to be in one
I think LA Knight is the perfect guy to sneak in there and win the title at mania, if they get the title off Rollins before WM (to Drew I'd assume). I'm pretty skeptical that they would just make Punk the champ right off the bat. I also don't see him losing at WM this year. The feud really doesn't need the title- Knight winning it woul add another monster moment to the show, with guys you already have under contract. Give orton the US title match.
