Hello fellow veteran! I'm really happy I made the switch. I think you'll end up thriving here. The most intense day at the office has nothing on a deployment, and you'll relate well to your clients' worst days. Plus your experiences while in will serve you in a lot of unexpected ways. Looking forward to hearing about your journey!

Thanks! Yeah I am barely at the beginning, took time off while my wife completed her nursing education, now it’s time for me to follow my passion. I am a ways out but still very excited to get started and tackle this process like no other!

We’d love to have you!

Thanks I appreciate this! I was kind of worried with age and what not, but after some research I don’t think much of it anymore!

Starting late is an unquestionable advantage for a lawyer, in my opinion, and as a defense attorney especially.

PhilosopherBarbarian

Thanks I appreciate hearing this!

Aint-no-preacher

Clients will assume you’ve been an attorney all of your adult life, so they won’t question your qualifications as much.

PhilosopherBarbarian

Oh dang, I didn’t think of that, makes sense now you say it thou!

If there's anyone who knows bearucratic bullshit and paperwork it's vets. Happy to have you as i stay up past 2 reviewing body cam footage.

PhilosopherBarbarian

I understand that for sure, in the process of VR&E, trying to advocate for myself on why I need what I am asking for. But I love researching weirdly enough, just for the fact that I can help fellow vets later with information too, it’s priceless.

CalinCalout-Esq

I love research too, i'm thinking about moving into appellate b/c of that.
