"..and mail it to them in a garbagggeee bagggg" made me fall in love with that band after looking them up from the back of the American Hardcore book based off the name alone. Drums are ace on that one too.
I get it too but I love em. When I was in highschool my younger brother said he sounds like SpongeBob which I thought was hilarious. Dude is a legit nutcase. I read an article about him years ago and he legally changed his name to a number or something and his neighbors all thought he was a nuisance because he'd have really charged signs in his yard.
That's what it was!! I knew I wasn't imagining that haha. Mine too, I had gotten into Minor Threat, Black Flag and Hüsker Dü by that point but they were the first of the 80's punk bands that actually challenged me.
yup. same. everyone I knew was into some skatepunk stuff, and pretty generic hardcore. and that was all fine, but it didn't quite *hit the spot* for me. Crucifucks did. early Butthole Surfers. Christian Deaths first album. I like my shit a little noisy and weird.
Sam McPheeters did an amazing interview with Doc Dart a while back. What an interesting fellow. Its well worth the read.

My very first thought. The songwriter/vocalist was "visited" by the secret service because of that song and I believe he was "strongly encouraged" to never release or play that song again ever, any time, for any reason and that a violation of that order would land him a 5 year prison sentence.
They released it anyway a number of years later and it turned out that the secret service was full of shit and just bluffing because it was fine and nothing happened.
Yeah, they were contacted by the FBI/Secret Service about that song. [I recently saw an old TV interview with them (and Jello Biafra and 2 Live Crew).](https://youtu.be/dXkzWkx-TUs?si=MIYsZ9jVvz4nw9eL) Phil Donahue Show. Wild
The live version of Franco UnAmerican by NOFX.
We all know George Bush is an imbecile.
He loves Dick but hates homosexuals.
I'm sick and tired of the embarrassment.

Secret Service Freedom Fighting USA by World/Inferno Friendship Society isn't about killing a president, but rather recalls a time when singer Jack Terricloth called in a death threat on Ronald Reagan as a teenager, lol.

Drummer went on to be in Sonic Youth
Hellll yeah. I love pulling that fun fact out to friends who like Sonic Youth but aren't super into hardcore. Steve Shelly rules.
people can say what they want about his vocals, that's purely subjective and I get it. but the band itself was tight as fuck.
I get it too but I love em. When I was in highschool my younger brother said he sounds like SpongeBob which I thought was hilarious. Dude is a legit nutcase. I read an article about him years ago and he legally changed his name to a number or something and his neighbors all thought he was a nuisance because he'd have really charged signs in his yard.
lol yeah. his name is "26" bonkers dude made bonkers music, and when I heard it, it flipped my notion of what punk is on its ass.
That's what it was!! I knew I wasn't imagining that haha. Mine too, I had gotten into Minor Threat, Black Flag and Hüsker Dü by that point but they were the first of the 80's punk bands that actually challenged me.

Pretty sure that was about killing the pope? I could be wrong.
Hm. I always saw it as Kennedy. “And the Governor’s car is not far behind/He’s not the one I had in mind” seems like such a Connelly reference.
Hmmm. You might be right. I didn’t think to realize a governor wouldn’t really be accompanying a Pope, but rather a pres.
