I wonder if he would have developed into the player he became before his concussion if he had stayed here. Probably not.

denver_and_life

He had potential but if I recall Colin Campbell hated him while he was the Rangers’ coach. Overall this franchise has done a piss poor job developing talent.. in 98 years they have never had a 500 goal scorer drafted by the team.

That's a pretty high bar, no? There are only \~50 players over that level in 100 years. If that's changed to 400G, it's 100 players in 100 years, and the Rangers at least have Kovalev, Amonte, and a couple others close or over that. Kreider and Miller have a real shot at it too. We've had three HOF goalies from the 1990's through today, so maybe it's not all that bad. (Edit: Savard barely broke 200, so I don't know why 500 is brought up anyway.)

Savard was one of my favorite players. I was pissed when he was traded away from the Rangers. A damn shame that the concussions ended his career.

Colin Campbell was trash. There were so many gifted and talented players that he despised and eventually chased out of town. I heard when he was getting fired he pleaded and begged to keep his job going so far as to blame everyone else around him for his failures.

Campbell was the coach i think and didn't like him cause he was a kid and had offensive skills , and had some turnovers . I'm vagely remembering as I was like 16 .

Makes sense. Rangers try to turn every offensive player into a defense first player. It’s been great for us

Legend?

Clodumbo

That's a savvy move.

Peep those skates 👀👀. I think I had those lol

Naganosupreme

Legend for being one of many future elite players we failed to develop in house

Belladonichaze34

Did more for Boston than he did for the Rangers.
