The UK needs better powers for moving these guys on, or anchor them to designated sites! But we come to expect; - Rubbish dumped everywhere including nappies. - Stolen Cars around the area are dumped. - Theft. - Leaflet drops on the best printed card for hedges, driveways work. They were in Morrison car park (at least I saw some four weeks ago). Nightmare!

England has S61 & 2 of the Criminal Justice & Public Order Act. What you need to be asking is why it isn’t being enforced. ‘Anchoring’ sounds a bit internment-y, but it *had* the Caravan Sites Act 1968 that allowed for the provision of designated halting sites . It was effectively repealed by…….the Public Order Act.

>Leaflet drops on the best printed card for hedges, driveways work. I don't understand this sentence?

germansnowman

They try to make money by offering their services, e. g. trimming hedges and fixing driveways. These are advertised using leaflet drops. The leaflets are printed on surprisingly good card stock.

_fml__

Shouldn’t be surprising. Leaflets aren’t expensive, and can be taken everywhere with you. Make money from one job, buy leaflets that you can take anywhere and drop, get more work, rinse and repeat.

RainyDayStormCloud

There were still a couple of caravans when I was there on the weekend.

Psychological_Can215

This is not the first time. Last year they broke into the kids play area when it was unde construction to let their kids play. (Teaching them young).

Fraccles

What happened to the space made for them down by the recycling area?

WillVH52

They like to move around between their holy sites.

DannyCookeVids

I saw a good few cars parked on there Sunday afternoon/evening looking to be having a picnic or BBQ.. so they likely just used whatever route said cars did this time...

SithPharoke

Sunday was the June Eid festival. They had a little carnival tour thing on the other side of the main car park. Most of them left right after prayer. If they left the gate open then they would be how they got in..

Any-Rate4556

Wait until the local branch of the Reform Party hears about this... 🫠🫠

SoundandvisonUK

Oh brilliant that’s not far from me I may stroll down and say hello

SithPharoke

Looks like they have been moved on today. They were there when I left for Charmouth this morning and gone as I got back just now.

justlooking042

Ah, they'll be the ones setting up at UoR then probably.

SithPharoke

More than likely.
