I dont see how anyone could say its a fair price. Since the recent price gouging, my feed has had a lot more candidates complaining about their Indeed experience as well so seems like its a lose/lose for both sides.

Acceptable_Duck_8589

No good competition in the space? I am likely being optimistic, seems like a behemoth of a company to go up against.

Roughrep

Yeah and Randstad fucking screwed Monster. I swear that company would destroy the price of gold if they bought all of it.

tikirawker

I don't follow Randstad or monster. What's the story?

TheNomadRecruiter

Definitely. Monster used to be my go-to tool 8-9 years ago, now it's twice the price and littered with crappy resumes(Tons of fake ones)

I only advertise if I *really* need to, I focus on sourcing a use any usual ad spend and invest that into sourcing tech.

starlight_775

+1 to this. The return on a quality sourcing tool has far outweighed the poor candidates that come in via job boards anyway.

CrazyRichFeen

Yes, they're overpriced.

WellfoundHQ

Not sure the stage of your company, but posting jobs on Wellfound is free and will continue to be free (we are predominantly a startup job board). We have upsells of course (gotta pay the bills), which aim to make hiring easier and faster, but most of our companies are on the free plan and do just fine.

Yeah, the cost of posting jobs on Indeed is really going up, and you are not alone in feeling this. It's getting pretty pricey, and the days of posting for free seem to be disappearing. I totally get what you are saying about it being almost a necessity as a recruiter, though. Indeed has such a big reach. But there are a few other options that you can try, for example LinkedIn, especially for professional roles. It’s not cheap either, but sometimes you can get more targeted results. Glassdoor and ZipRecruiter are also worth checking out. They provide various pricing plans and can sometimes be a bit more affordable. There are also niche[ job boards ](https://recruitcrm.io/blogs/online-job-boards/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=reddit+organic+syndication&utm_campaign=011-Answer)depending on the industry you are recruiting for. These can sometimes provide better candidates at a lower cost. And don’t forget about social media platforms like Facebook Jobs. They can be effective and more budget-friendly too. Hope this helps! Good luck outreaching :)
