For Arthur I tend to pick historical/mythological names. I figure if Arthur named his last horse Boadicea he probably gave them all similar names over the years.
I've been replaying on PC, but by replying I mean staying in Chapter 2 as Arthur, playing with various mods & the Rampage Trainer.
I'm playing with a 'Young Arthur' mod making him look more like in the old photo with Dutch & Hosea. I downloaded a custom Missouri Fox-Trotter for Arthur; naturally I named her Boadicea.
My Arthur mostly brings in recurring bounties out New Austin & West Elizabeth... with glistening Navy revolvers.
Arthur has different journal entries for the points of interest in the parts of the map that the invisible sniper keeps Arthur from exploring without mods. I like to think I'm in my 'Happy Ever After' Arthur playthrough, and it has been hard earned on his part.
I come from a long list of dead horses:
-Thunder
- Angus
- Grace
- Tennessee
- Beth
- Humberto
- Pasquale
- Oracio
- Armando
- Apollo
- Altaïr
- Jasmine
-Little Creek

Normally I name Arthur’s horses after historical or biblical characters, but this play through I’ve gone with alcohols. A dark bay Turkoman named Stout is what he’s currently riding.
Online my horse is Barb.
I kept the shire Hosea gave me at the beginning of C2 and named it Jolene. I doubt the horse cares it's a feminine name. But it's what my wife named out black truck and I thought it was cute
Arthur's horses, I name after mythical creatures:
Chimera
Leviathan
Scylla
Etc
John's horses, I give Biblical names:
Abel
Shadrach
Solomon
Etc
My online horses, I've given names from literature or plays that would have been out at the time:
Mercutio
Mephistopheles
Etc
I use mythological/historical names. My first playthrough I had one horse the entire time named sleipnir. Then, on my current playthrough my horses were Odysseus, then Aerion, then Zenobia.
My current horse is called Dutch because I found it by the way side, and it provided me with a plan to move on. Also, it keeps murdering innocent bystanders.
My second horse is called Mary because Arthur is a sentimental romantic.
My third horse is called Dakota because… Well, it’s fitting.
I do generals that fought pre-1899, but accurate to where they come from, Like I named an Arabian Khalid Al-Walid (after this guy) :[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khalid\_ibn\_al-Walid](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khalid_ibn_al-Walid) I named a Turkoman Xerxes, and a Morgan Ulysses S. GRant
I named my current one redemption. I have a reason. It was a red chestnut Arabian and I was thinking of a name for it. My thought process was "It's red. Im playing red dead rn. Hmmm red dead? Nahh. Redemption."
I always kept the black shire horse you get at the start and called it after characters from Greek mythology (mostly just Trojan War). Ajax was my favourite, I'd call my back up shire horses (the grey and brown ones I nicked) Achilles, Patroclus, Hector, Telamon.

That’s what I do too lol, though mine have been a bit more biblical.
Isaac is my current horse lol
That’s what I do too! I have a cleopatra and a Sobek
I named the horse you get from the Adler Ranch (female) Boudicca before I knew about Boadicea. Almost a coincidence lol.

I'm assuming John didn't forget about Meshach and Abednego. One cannot simply have Shadrach without Meshach and Abednego.
I named my thoroughbred from Strawberry Frost. It just seemed fitting. Plus a Skyrim reference I guess.
I use mythological/historical names. My first playthrough I had one horse the entire time named sleipnir. Then, on my current playthrough my horses were Odysseus, then Aerion, then Zenobia.
