With all due respect to Nani, Rashford IMO has probably been a better individual player than Nani ever has. Maybe not as flashy or pleasing to watch but definitely more productive while also still being exciting to watch too (Will never forget Nani's 2010-11 season though, he was genuinely consistent and was playing at a high level throughout that season).
Absolutely love him he always seemed likeable, I remember a lot of the fan base wasn’t always too happy with him but looking back I think a lot of us would kill to have a winger like him again at Old Trafford,
Scored one of the best goals I’ve seen against Arsenal
Lol you know what the craziness is was that we signed him for like 3m I believe but we were all so happy cause we were like if Fergie wants him I’m sure we can make him into a Ronaldo regen lol
He’s young has time luckily we have his previous manager in ETH so I’m sure he knows what steps to take to develop him into what we all would like him to become
I see where you’re coming from but I always see Rashy as a guy that should just play the free roam role sort of thing, where as Nani was just effective on the wings
Yeah Rashy is more of a talisman indeed, but they both are pretty inconsistent but absolutely brilliant at their best, and dribble past people with mesmerizing skill
I still think Rashford's bad days are better than Nani's. Rashy's bad days are just more noticable as if he's misfiring no one can cover for him and take the pressure off of him while if Nani's misfiring, there's players like Rooney, Chica, Berba, and even sometimes Valencia there to step up and cover for him whenever things are going wrong for him.
I was actually depressed for a whole month after that game. Thought we actually had a shot at winning the UCL that season if not for the shit ref cunt sucker.
I still think that’s a yellow at best (for high boot). If we had VAR back then, you would see that it wasn’t intentional plus Arbeola acting like he took a Bruce Lee kick to the chest
We were SO on for the CL that season. It was the first time I wept during a game because of just how unfair that decision was. Then the sheer goosebumps of Sir Alex raising his arms to orchestrate the Old Trafford crowd into the most deafening roar to become the 11th man. It would have been one of the greatest moments in our history if we managed to turn that result around - and we had chances after the red too.
Former World Cup goal scoring record holder. Won 2 World Cups and played one final after having a seizure. Scored a hat trick on us in UCL semis on old Trafford. He is literally one of the best of all time you should look him up. 🇧🇷
I just assumed Sir Alex would have a driver to take him to and from games. I'd feel more pressure driving Sir Alex around than I did felt on my actual test.
My NHL team is the Detroit Red Wings. During the Nani era, we had a Russian player named Datsyuk who was just like Nani on skates. Absolutely unstoppable wizards on their day and I feel blessed to have seen them both on my teams through their ups and downs.
Man I love Rafael and Chicha sooooo much. Christ I would love to even have a young Welbeck again. Miss those days. Everything went south around the time of them leaving…
Not rewriting history. Chicha, Rafael and Nani were all effective squad players that were sold and not replaced effectively. All had been trained and won under Fergie as well and that mentality was still valuable. Our squad was tepid as fuck under LvG and stuff like this contributed IMO
True that, not everyone on a great winning side is supposed to be a all time great playing 90 min per game. Guys like those mentioned, Fletcher, Skolskjaer, Brown, O’Shea, Valencia, Silverste, Park all players that were not world class. But when called upon in a CL knockout game or a important away day vs Chelsea can give you 70 good minutes. Those are the players separating the winner of PL and the third place finish. Fred, Malacia and maybe even McSauce can develop into become one of those squad players that’s so important. We need more of those!
Rafael managed just over 100 league games in 7 seasons at Utd, just over 100 in 5 at Lyon, the guy was injury prone his entire career, Nani was a good player but inconsistent, if he was so good why did he end up at Galatasaray after Utd? Hernandez didn't wanna be a squad player hence why he went on loan to RM.
>Nani was a good player but inconsistent, if he was so good why did he end up at Galatasaray after Utd?
He went to Fenerbache, not Galatasaray. Also Nani was past his best by that stage of his career, that's why he went to Turkey. He was there for a season before going to Valencia at La Liga.
Fucking love these stories
I imagine awkward silence with SAF in the car is as bad as it gets
If a Scottish man isn’t talking there’s a fucking problem.
I swear on his day he was the best player in the world I still remember those summersaults
That goal v Chelsea
That goal vs Spurs
That goal vs Middlesbrough
That goal v Arsenal
This is the one
The first half vs Bayern

That goal against arsenal clipped it between 2 players and bang
rashford is our nani and i mean that in a good way, Unreal on his day but hit and miss. But SO glad hes in our squad

He was prime Ronaldo some days and prime Obertan others
Had to remind me of Obertan that’s a memory I had erased lol
Haha how could you forget?
Lol you know what the craziness is was that we signed him for like 3m I believe but we were all so happy cause we were like if Fergie wants him I’m sure we can make him into a Ronaldo regen lol
We all gave up when he dribbled the ball out under no pressure
At least not Bebe.. lol
Mention … and you get my downvote 👊 Only upvote will be a post of the Porto goal, I gotta be honest
You don't like Obertan?
I love my French Megamind. What other name was mentioned?
One of the greatest players to ever wear the hallowed shirt - Cristiano Ronaldo
…ooookayyy. Who again?
My hope for Antony is to be as good as him. If he is then perfect.
He’s young has time luckily we have his previous manager in ETH so I’m sure he knows what steps to take to develop him into what we all would like him to become
Rashford is very much a winger like him honestly
I see where you’re coming from but I always see Rashy as a guy that should just play the free roam role sort of thing, where as Nani was just effective on the wings

Yeah Rashford is overall better I agree
Don't think i have moved on from that horror red card against Real in the UCL.
It's my fault for entering a Nani thread but now I'm annoyed for the rest of the night
cakir the absolute knobhead
I was actually depressed for a whole month after that game. Thought we actually had a shot at winning the UCL that season if not for the shit ref cunt sucker.

Good job kids are crying now
So obviously a bought ref. We always got shit decisions in Europe.

Best Portuguese winger in Manchester United History?
Yeah, with Bebe #2.
Dalot at winger clears Bebe imo
Certainly the most likeable
Ronaldo was practically a winger for us in his first seasons and was much better than Nani.
Ronaldo? Never heard of him mate.
You’ve never heard of Ronaldo? Brazilian legend
Former World Cup goal scoring record holder. Won 2 World Cups and played one final after having a seizure. Scored a hat trick on us in UCL semis on old Trafford. He is literally one of the best of all time you should look him up. 🇧🇷
Ronaldo is Brazilian my brother
/r/woooosh
I think I'd remember if El Fenomeno played for us mate
Mate, Ronald de Boer never played for United, and he isn't even Portuguese XD
I just assumed Sir Alex would have a driver to take him to and from games. I'd feel more pressure driving Sir Alex around than I did felt on my actual test.
Nani has one of those faces, regardless of the story, you will laugh a little😭
Portuguese Ronaldo
Nani was simply put, brilliant. Seeing him play was a joy to watch. I’ll never forget THAT game vs Arsenal
My NHL team is the Detroit Red Wings. During the Nani era, we had a Russian player named Datsyuk who was just like Nani on skates. Absolutely unstoppable wizards on their day and I feel blessed to have seen them both on my teams through their ups and downs.
He really wasn’t brilliant lol
He was
He wasn't. It's incredible how low some of the fans standards are.
Good memories, enjoyable moments no doubt.
I loved seeing him on the wing. His dribbling and crossing was generally great
Hahaha this is so wholesome
[удалено]
Never should have sold him 😑
Agreed, and Chicha and Rafael
Man I love Rafael and Chicha sooooo much. Christ I would love to even have a young Welbeck again. Miss those days. Everything went south around the time of them leaving…
Let's not rewrite history. Chica was terrible towards the end and Rafa has terrible fitness.
Not rewriting history. Chicha, Rafael and Nani were all effective squad players that were sold and not replaced effectively. All had been trained and won under Fergie as well and that mentality was still valuable. Our squad was tepid as fuck under LvG and stuff like this contributed IMO

Hahaha that's brilliant. I love Nani, not a not take but on his day he was an unreal baller
My fav United player ever :)
i love this man
The best goal I've seen live was still by Nani. Vs Middlesbrough
Lmao great story. That miss cost us big at the end of the season tho'
rashford is our nani and i mean that in a good way, Unreal on his day but hit and miss. But SO glad hes in our squad
Not weird at all that at 33 I’m laugh crying at this story.
