Really hope we start Rashford up front and garnacho on the left vs city. Won’t have much coming off the bench but our other attackers are just so lacklustre
Garnacho is a super sub. It would be better if sancho scores or assists in the next couple games and has a good start vs city, then garnacho comes on for a goal and/or assist
Nah man I’ve had enough of watching sancho and martial for the majority of the game especially sancho. Garnacho should be getting more than 20 minutes, none of this super sub nonsense. You start your best players.
Let’s get that one point against Chelsea, play the reserves against Fulham, and get that week’s rest for the FA cup final.
But knowing us, that ain’t happening is it lmao
As if that matters to the playing staff.
The chance of finishing 3rd in terms of pride is enough incentive imo. I’d choose to rest everyone but I can see why he’d go for it.
Agree, but players have finally have had 2 weeks with no midweek games. Don't think they'll struggle to be at 100% for the city game if key players play 140min of football over 10 days leading up to it (assuming we can take off players vs Fulham or Chelsea at 45-60min)
They're obviously exhausted but they're also in incredible condition. 2 games in 14 days leaves them with a lot of gas in the tank for the last 3 games.
That's why i added a question mark I was unsure of this. I remember some Van Gaal year we were worried about playing a cl qualifier and we didnt finish 4th since, it was either 5th 6th 2nd so i didnt know it changed.
He absolutely had the right to challenge the ball regardless of whether he got the ball it was loose, he did get the ball and clipped Eriksen with the follow through which is also usually fine.. It was the type fo challenge the player decided to go with that was the problem he didn't need to go studs up.
Youre getting mad at the wrong thing.
Absolutely love it when United managers shit on Liverpool irrespective of their results. Many moons ago when Ole was managing Cardiff, he was asked about Liverpool's dominance in the league and he nonchalantly replied, "couldn't care less".
And now Ten Hag.
Gotta love being a United fan sometimes.
I actually do care about what happened to Liverpool because it was great. The official that Klopp ran down the touchline to shout in his face, well that came back to haunt Klopp as that same official was the ref at Anfield today and made a hilarious offside call to rule out their goal😂. Justice served.
Van Dijk was in an offside position but the ball is played to him by Konsa. The only way he's offside is if the ref believes it wasn't an intentional touch by Konsa. The VAR asked to referees to watch the screen and that's all she wrote for Liverpool's season, poetry.
Based on the rules, I disagree.
The controversial part of this offside is whether the Villa defender intentionally played the ball. The laws on that are below: https://www.theifab.com/news/law-11-offside-deliberate-play-guidelines-clarified/
>‘Deliberate play’ is when a player has control of the ball with the possibility of:
>
> * passing the ball to a team-mate; or
> * gaining possession of the ball; or
> * clearing the ball (e.g. by kicking or heading it).
>
> If the pass, attempt to gain possession or clearance by the player in control of the ball is inaccurate or unsuccessful, this does not negate the fact that the player ‘deliberately played’ the ball.
>
> The following criteria should be used, as appropriate, as indicators that a player was in control of the ball and, as a result, ‘deliberately played’ the ball:
>
> * The ball travelled from distance and the player had a clear view of it
> * The ball was not moving quickly
> * The direction of the ball was not unexpected
> * The player had time to coordinate their body movement, i.e. it was not a case of instinctive stretching or jumping, or a movement that achieved limited contact/control
> * A ball moving on the ground is easier to play than a ball in the air
I swear there’s a liverpool player just in front of VVD that touches the ball before it gets to him. I could be wrong as I didn’t watch the game though, but my feed cut to the goals at anfield when it happened.
No you're correct. Diaz heads the ball back the opposite direction to Van Dijk who is ahead of him. Then Konsa cuts out the header playing it to Van Dijk. Personally I don't think you should get an advantage by being offside so I agree with the ref and he found a way to rule it out.
Oh thanks for clarifying, the in game replay didn’t show Konsa’s touch. I’d hate for it to be overturned if we scored such a crucial goal, but I agree with the ruling.
I trust this man. We need to give him time. Years if it takes. This was just his first season with so much disruption. When he gets a basic core of players he wants and coaches them we will start to see his playstyle very clearly. Not to forget we will start to win without always clenching our ass. Even if there are players with mentality issues i trust him to identify them and remove them from the squad like he did with ronaldo.
A proper striker would make their own chances with just one touch into a little space with a shooting angle and smash it like:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD0W-OM7h5M
We get around 3 of them from Antony each game. 1 or 2 from Bruno and maybe the odd Eriksen effort so we're not shy of getting those types of chances, but I take your point that we don't seem to have anybody capable of putting them in at the moment. Kane probably scores upwards of 25 goals in this team, and if we can keep Rashford firing next year as well as Antony fine-tuning his right foot and finishing with his left, we'll have a title-contending front 3 there for the next 3 or 4 years.
I feel the situation is the opposite where we keep shooting from outside the box, with the ball not even being on target, instead of actually developing our attacks properly
Antony? He shoots when he’s not supposed to shoot, and try to pass when he’s supposed to shoot.
Bruno’s the exception.
But what about the left side? How many times have you seen Sancho forcing the overlap of Shaw instead of taking a shot like what he did in Tottenham?
.. You're arguing that they try to walk it in, then arguing when I disagreed o Antony by pointing out he shoots when he has no right to shoot...
Uh, alright.
So when you say the whole team tries to walk it in what you're actually saying is that Sancho could do with shooting more. Because Rashford sure as shit isn't shy of shooting when he plays, Garnacho is certainly not shy of shooting when he comes on as a sub, Bruno and Antony love a shot, Casemiro will shoot even from further out, Eriksen will potshot when he can and Fred when he plays tries to shoot from the edge of the box all the time. Martial and Weighorst will both also still shoot when they have a sight of goal.
Really need that scoring option up front next season. Need the damn sale to go through quick so we can load up on a ST, rotational CM x2, and a rotational CB
Wow everybody has their opinion i guess. But yours is truly something. Feel sorry for ya buddy.
Edit: as a comment below pointed out, i now realise you are referring to ole's quote when at Cardiff.
I was busy Jinxing Liverpool so didn't see our game. Worth it.
But I heard Sancho played better in the second half. It's always the same with him and Antony, flashes. I know both are young but consistency needs to come now.
I have to ask this, is there anything that can come good out of using Twitter? I don't use it much, but in the little time i spent there, and my god it is a cesspool!
We still have problems with chance creation, despite the improvements in ball progression from the back to the midfield.
We lacked movements and pace to create some clear cut chances up front until Garnacho came on. Both Sancho and Anthony weren’t able to beat their markers and chose to drift inwards and our fullbacks are not overlapping enough.
The coaching staff and players should both take responsibilities.
I really wonder what Casemiro as a striker would look like lmao. Maybe in a friendly give him a run out, he seems to have a real eye for goal and is a clinical finisher. Obviously this doesn’t translate the same
It looked like he was just over emotional at being subbed off, maybe pissed at ten Haag or at himself for not playing well. Either way it's not something to be annoyed about from a fan perspective, passion is good.
Making a mountain out of a mole hill really.
Players sometimes fight with managers, kick bottles, refuse to handshake etc.
He shook his head and walked off.
Its honestly not even worth discussing.
Good on Erik to light a fire under our whole offense's ass.
I’m not even sure who our striker is. Somebody’s ass is on fire, but who?
Casemiro is gonna come in as a striker according to Dave lol
Really hope we start Rashford up front and garnacho on the left vs city. Won’t have much coming off the bench but our other attackers are just so lacklustre
Garnacho is a super sub. It would be better if sancho scores or assists in the next couple games and has a good start vs city, then garnacho comes on for a goal and/or assist
Nah man I’ve had enough of watching sancho and martial for the majority of the game especially sancho. Garnacho should be getting more than 20 minutes, none of this super sub nonsense. You start your best players.
Only problem is he’s been half as effective every time he’s started this season
Still twice as effective as Sancho then
Garnacho gets easily pushed off against bigger fresh bodies.
And Sancho doesn’t even try to win 50/50 battles, so not seeing the downside here
Sancho was fine yesterday, the narrative is now in full swing against him though and it isn't going to stop
Anybody who actually understands the game knows Garnacho is best off the bench…they just need someone to hate even after a win
Give up on Sancho man, its not happening and deep down you know it
Bro, would you look at that? So far I am correct
I am willing to wait till the season is over to say anything like that
Bang bang
Also owners/potential owners/board - "we need a striker next season"
Let’s get that one point against Chelsea, play the reserves against Fulham, and get that week’s rest for the FA cup final. But knowing us, that ain’t happening is it lmao
We will go full strength or close to full strength. No Doubt.
If we secure top 4 vs Chelsea, I will be very surprised to see us go full strength vs Fulham
If there's a chance of securing 3rd that's an extra 2 mil in prize money.
do we need the 2 mil tho?
Could be the difference in securing De Jong!! /s
Don't jump the gun. We still have to get Sneider over the line
We need to give de gea another pay rise Edit: it was a joke ffs
Bruh we've got 1 billion in debt. We need all the money we can get.

PL has direct qualification for all 4 spots
Not a thing any more. Straight into the groups if we finish 3rd or 4th
The 4th teams from the big leagues (England, Spain, Italy, Germany) go straight to group stage.
Denying city the treble is worth infinite. 2 million doesn’t mean shit
As if that matters to the playing staff. The chance of finishing 3rd in terms of pride is enough incentive imo. I’d choose to rest everyone but I can see why he’d go for it.
Wouldn’t have to play the playoffs either right?
You clearly don't know big Erik
Would love to see Jones get a game vs Fulham. Butland Mengi Maguire Jones Malacia McTominay Maino Iqbal Pellistri Elanga Wout/
if we do (which we likely will), it’s a big mistake.
> play the reserves against Fulham Why ? Isn't third place still for the taking?
Winning the FA cup is far more important than 3rd over 4th
Agree, but players have finally have had 2 weeks with no midweek games. Don't think they'll struggle to be at 100% for the city game if key players play 140min of football over 10 days leading up to it (assuming we can take off players vs Fulham or Chelsea at 45-60min) They're obviously exhausted but they're also in incredible condition. 2 games in 14 days leaves them with a lot of gas in the tank for the last 3 games.
There's always a risk of a player getting hurt tho.
Can't argue with that.
or a straight red...
Case looks at a player funny
immediate 6 game ban.
Would put my mortgage on PGMOL getting Casemiro suspended for the FA cup
Casemiro, run away!
Or accumulating yellows Case, Shaw and Bruno definitely do not need to play against Fulham
but if you finish 4th you are not qualified to champions league, you play a qualifier no?
Nah not for a while now.
The 4th teams from the big leagues (England, Spain, Italy, Germany) go straight to group stage.
ah ok thx didn't know
It's been almost a decade since they changed the rules mate
That's why i added a question mark I was unsure of this. I remember some Van Gaal year we were worried about playing a cl qualifier and we didnt finish 4th since, it was either 5th 6th 2nd so i didnt know it changed.
Fa cup >>>>> 3rd place
Our biannual draw against Chelsea incoming
Yeah. But knowing Lampard we’re gonna smash them 4-0
We haven't scored 4 goals in a premier league game this season. Most likely a 1-0 (got 7 of those)
[Repeat? ](https://youtu.be/IMt3qwBkyn0)
We were terrible this game, conceding chance after chance. But the counter attack was devastating.
In United fashion it will be a loss to Chelsea, followed by an exhausting draw 0-0 to Fulham.
Pellistri time to shine!
Lmao at thinking that Man Utd can't get a point at a place where it's been a fortress this season
I think the "that ain't happening" was for the resting players bit, but I'm not OP
We need form at this point, not rest.
We need both. The team reliably drops off into the second half. I have a hard time believing that ISN'T fatigue.
You best believe Bruno playing every single game still lol.
We still have a chance to get 3rd place. No surprise if the boss still goes full throttle.
it’s written in the stars that we will draw with Chelsea
Ten Hagggg 😭❤❤❤
Fuck Liverpool, like my boss said!
Should have called out the challenge on Eriksen too.
The commentators literally annoyed me by saying " but but he has all the right to challenge the ball since he got the ball so wrong decision from ref"
Yhyh sorry worded it wrong. Meant that it's fine for him to challenge the ball but can't complain if the decision was against him
Yeah getting the ball matters less in this instance because that follow through doesn't happen if you don't do the jump studs up
ETH will make it his no1 priority to recruit a top class striker in the summer. Poor man is nearly as frustrated as we are...
i would guess he's probably more frustrated than us
Absolutely love it when United managers shit on Liverpool irrespective of their results. Many moons ago when Ole was managing Cardiff, he was asked about Liverpool's dominance in the league and he nonchalantly replied, "couldn't care less". And now Ten Hag. Gotta love being a United fan sometimes.
Defense has been good. Attack has been bad for a whie. But A win is a win, right?
David Brooks you legend. Keep going mate.
“Maybe we should put Casemiro as a striker!” That’s quite the indictment of our forward options, outside of Rashford…
I actually do care about what happened to Liverpool because it was great. The official that Klopp ran down the touchline to shout in his face, well that came back to haunt Klopp as that same official was the ref at Anfield today and made a hilarious offside call to rule out their goal😂. lol what are you disagreeing with? You just said what the rule was, same as the guy you replied to
Either I replied to the wrong post or they edited their post after I replied. Lol

Man city can clinch title against Chelsea. We could clinch CL against them too. Chelsea is becoming the bitch to be slapped around
If Arsenal lose today then city will already have the title by tomorrow, I prefer the second option 😁
Congratulations
Get this man some strikers
I trust this man. We need to give him time. Years if it takes. This was just his first season with so much disruption. If we relegate Liverpool to the Champions League Division 2, I think Madrid will go for Klopp, and I think he'll go too.
Hopefully that means Liverpool's golden era came to an end. If that's the case the damage is limited.
Hope Klopp thinks his Liverpool stint is time to come to an end
Godwilling!
More chance me starting up front against City in the cup final.
Win the next game, rest up against Fulham!
Or even draw, what a relief that is considering it's the big Chels.
Its annoying. Nobody wants to shoot. Everybody wants to walk the ball into the net.
On the contrary, we had 13 shots from the edge of the box and further out.
We don't even get in good positions to shoot though.
A proper striker would make their own chances with just one touch into a little space with a shooting angle and smash it like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD0W-OM7h5M

School boy stuff
I feel the situation is the opposite where we keep shooting from outside the box, with the ball not even being on target, instead of actually developing our attacks properly
I miss rashford lol. He will shoot no matter how little of space he gets
Bruno and Antony shoot on sight at any given oppurtinity what are you talking about? Lol
Antony? He shoots when he’s not supposed to shoot, and try to pass when he’s supposed to shoot. Bruno’s the exception. But what about the left side? How many times have you seen Sancho forcing the overlap of Shaw instead of taking a shot like what he did in Tottenham?

Martial and Weighorst will both also still shoot when they have a sight of goal.
Sort of seems still a bit of the cuff at the moment, shoot when we should pass etc I think a proper 9 up front would do wonders.
Really need that scoring option up front next season. Need the damn sale to go through quick so we can load up on a ST, rotational CM x2, and a rotational CB
That’s a mentality that we need. We don’t need other teams doing to determine our fate. Love ETH ❤️
Levy adding an extra few million on Kane's price tag.
It's not easy to score but our finishing is also poor.
Love ETH. He is expertly iterating to the board that he needs a striker in the summer.
>we didn't kill off the game The boss said this many times already. Sigh, our attacks are pathetic. One Kane is not enough really.
haha Ten Hag is giving Ole vibes... COULDN'T CARE LESS
Wow everybody has their opinion i guess. But yours is truly something. Feel sorry for ya buddy. Edit: as a comment below pointed out, i now realise you are referring to ole's quote when at Cardiff.
They're probably referring to Ole's quote about Liverpool when he was Cardiff manager but those downvoting obviously missed the joke.
Oh shit that has completely gone over my head lol. I get it now. Smh

Stop stealing from Twitter
Actually pathetic seeing people try this, karma is everything.
It is and that's the fun about it , you can see how sad people make themselves and have laugh about it and move on
As someone who deleted Twitter and would of never of seen this, thanks lmao

At what point will we get that champions league spot secured? At least a win against Chelsea?
A point in the next two games should do the job.
It’s pretty much secured already then?
No, we actually have to not fuck this up if Liverpool win. Nothing is a guarantee yet.
[удалено]
apparently he came back to the bench after walking down the tunnel
Maybe guy has to pee
It looked like he was just over emotional at being subbed off, maybe pissed at ten Haag or at himself for not playing well. Either way it's not something to be annoyed about from a fan perspective, passion is good.
He didn't score or assist sure, but his hold up play was strong.
Making a mountain out of a mole hill really. Players sometimes fight with managers, kick bottles, refuse to handshake etc. He shook his head and walked off. Its honestly not even worth discussing.
Sometimes you just need to take a shit?
We still sort of need him for 3 more games so not for now I guess..
Media couldn't milk money from Martial so it's okay. Will never be a headline nor meme.
[удалено]
I think Erik is being measured in his first season. He's going to be a lot harder of this squad come next season and boy do they need it
"The only criticism is we didn't kill off the game, " that seems to be the criticism every week
