Bruno has been lowkey, kinda shit lately, missed 2 cutback chances here and also 2 against Newport.
and that through ball to Antony was shit, as much as people like to hate on him.
He wasn't great in this match, and he missed a sitter that he should have scored on the first touch. But credit to him, for Rashford and Mainoo's goals he makes runs that open up Wolves' defense and gives the goalscorers a better shot.
He did but he was also shit for a lot of the match. He missed a lot of short passes that derailed our build-up (and the square pass towards the end that would have been a huge chance), missed a couple chances himself badly, missed some long passing opporunities that could have created big chances. As a Bruno stan, he has been in poor form recently and to say he "wasn't great" last match is a big understatement. He was shit.
He also misses those chances on the cut back near the edge of the box CONSTANTLY. Like he almost never even puts it on target. It's baffling.
Again, I love Bruno. But i think he just lacks that extra bit of consitency the very very best players have. Needs to be putting shots on target more often, needs to be better at retaining the ball more and giving away stupid/simple passes less.
I said the same thing, albeit less eloquently, and got downvoted to hell lol. His overall game this season has not been good enough. He needs to tighten up.
> I said the same thing, albeit less eloquently, and got downvoted to hell lol.
welcome to the club pal, can't bring up anything negative after a win.
Until Antony came on, I genuinely thought Bruno was the worst player on the pitch and I would have subbed him for Mount at half time if he was available.
Don't even, our fan base has a way of clinging to a certain player and worship him as an untouchable. They did it with Rashford first but lately and especially since his current incident the changed the sentiment but Bruno has for sometime been the new cult hero, valid criticism will never be entertained by fanbase.
P.S He is not captain material and should be rotated with Mount once he is fit, so that he stays on his toes.
He's been shit for a while but no one wants to admit it, he's so detrimental to our play. The chances he creates do not justify the loss of control with him on the pitch.
He's very well off on the right during this period of his career, it forces him to be more creative and develop his game more instead of constantly taking on his man on the left (which I love, but it can make a player one dimensional). Also he's somehow better on his left than Antony so it works doubly better for us that he goes both ways
You can still moan about him being wasteful even if he is performing better than others, and especially because of his age.
The lad needs to get his head up more often, and not dribble or shoot directly into a defender so often.
Yes and how does that happen? More reps, more games and him failing first and learning. These players aren’t factory made. They need to overcome hurdles to get there
It’s not constructive in any way. Most of the comments on the thread were childish and moronic. Instead of getting behind a young player, it’s incredibly toxic. A young player who scored a brace today btw.
I feel like garnacho’s season has been somewhat going under the radar because mainoo has been so exceptional. With hojlund coming along I hope better days are ahead.
I'm surprised/encouraged that we created so many chances because Bruno's final ball was really far off his usual level that day. And he's normally our only source of creating anything
It has to be said that despite lacking the shooting boots on the day,Bruno was splendid in the build up of most attacks.Instrumental to our way of playing.
Yeah definitely, I just thought his final pass was uncharacteristically off compared to usual as well. On a few of those chances he'd normally play someone in but mistimed the pass. His creation stats or risky passes/giveaways are most of the discussion here but his build up play and "passes before the assist" are always so important for us.
It's just the type of stuff that doesn't show up as much in the highlights but you can see a few good disguised passes to Rashford in this video or even the dummy that led to Rashford's goal
Exactly this! All the times Rashford and Shaw broke forward in the left, the pass to them came from Bruno without a moment wasted on needless touches.
Also Bruno has always been more than stats even(I sense the irony saying this as he is one of the best midfielders overall stat wise)
Presses like a mad man too.
So important now that he is being played in his proper #10
Nah go re-watch the extended highlights.
Even though he missed a couple shots and one assist with the left foot in the 2nd half I still found him crucial.
Nobody can progress the ball as swiftly as him in this team.
Most of you are unfairly nit picking on our best player
He's not out best player anymore though, and his stats cover for how poor his all round game is at the moment. Just too many loose touches and bad decisions. That might sound like I'm nitpicking but he's playing in midfield, as an 8, where these things are crucial to controlling the game. He's still playing like a 10. The chances he creates, which aren't exactly high quality anyway, just don't offset the lack of control he brings.
Was that the left footed cross that he overhit? That and the pass at the end of the game were the type of things I was referring to that seemed off the other day
The passing was really crisp and the off the ball movement and positioning when we're in possession was miles better
Ten Hag has slowly solved most of the problems we have had.
Or perhaps we just needed our first team fit to play the way he wanted us to
Sorry for the late post yall. Here's [individual highlight of our wonderboy Kobbie Mainoo](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/comments/1ahzm75/individual_highlight_kobbie_mainoo_vs/). Hopefully we smash West Ham tomorrow!
I think we are playing a style that makes the team run it’s ass up and down the pitch and we get vulnerable last 20, our bench needs major strengthening it’s weak sauce
The difference in our play between this game and the 1-0 is very promising. We barely scraped that game whereas we dominated this one until the penalty. Lots of positives, there's clear progress.
4 goals could have been more. Hope we keep this up

There was a certain amount of moaning about Garnacho in this game but when you see the chances he created the lad was denied two assists
Yeah Bruno/Case wasted a lot of chance this game.
He's very well off on the right during this period of his career, it forces him to be more creative and develop his game more instead of constantly taking on his man on the left (which I love, but it can make a player one dimensional). Incredible that our fanbase can moan and crap on a 19 year old who’s outperforming all our other “experienced” attackers
You can still moan about him being wasteful even if he is performing better than others, and especially because of his age. The lad needs to get his head up more often, and not dribble or shoot directly into a defender so often.
Yes and how does that happen? More reps, more games and him failing first and learning. These players aren’t factory made. They need to overcome hurdles to get there
Yep, and you can still criticise someone for what they need to work on. That's what criticism is.
It’s not constructive in any way. Most of the comments on the thread were childish and moronic. Instead of getting behind a young player, it’s incredibly toxic. A young player who scored a brace today btw.
Yep he did well, and kept his head up.
I feel like garnacho’s season has been somewhat going under the radar because mainoo has been so exceptional. With hojlund coming along I hope better days are ahead.
No exaggeration, that's 8 easy goals there.
"2 xG" 😄
A couple of these were offside so doesn't count for xG

We must be watching a different Bruno, he's the exact opposite of splendid. He's wasteful.

This video doesn’t even include the chance at the end of the first half where Bruno fluffed the ball that would’ve given us a tap in
Was that the left footed cross that he overhit? That and the pass at the end of the game were the type of things I was referring to that seemed off the other day
Yh exactly. Could’ve killed off the game with that end of half chance but was very unlike Bruno
Case should've had two goals from Bruno fk's

You are doing the lords work mate one of the best contributors on this sub Reddit
🐐thank you!
Hojlund’s control between the legs for the assist was underrated
Should have scored 7 minimums.
I'm cautiously encouraged by the number of chances and the 8 goals we've scored in the last 2 games. But we need to stop switching off defensively.
I think we are playing a style that makes the team run it’s ass up and down the pitch and we get vulnerable last 20, our bench needs major strengthening it’s weak sauce
somebody get benni mccarthy on the phone
Commentary said 'should have been 3-0' atleast 5 times.
We really need to be more clinical Infront of goal. Wasting chances almost came back to bite us
The difference in our play between this game and the 1-0 is very promising. We barely scraped that game whereas we dominated this one until the penalty. Lots of positives, there's clear progress.
Really pissy how literally everyone on the RW is begging for the ball.
I was so excited for antony when he scored against arsenal. Now i just hate him.
When we have attacking free kicks, almost always our attackers are offside when the ball's kicked. I really don't understand our set play tactics.
