So bruno is playing the full 90 then

eClipseLJ

First on the XI sheet as always.

rahulchandar1992

Starting Xl + Team sheet = Xl sheet?

waywarddd

You’re being downvoted but I can’t say I’ve ever heard XI sheet either!

eClipseLJ

Typed the latter first and changed only half of it to the first bit, cheers :D

selotipkusut

Bruno is a doubt... to miss the game.

PunyHumanoid

Put him in my FPL team this week.... So he'll likely actually be out

Goudinho99

You kniw he will. As an aside, I wonder if an offer comes in, a juicy one, it's fine to think about the effing VOLUME of games the man has played and think about how much he actually has in the tank?

nomadiclives

Nobody’s going to come in with an offer for him coz every top team has a midfield he can’t get into. He’s our best player but his attributes make it really hard for a top team with aspirations to play possession based football and control games to build a team around him. Hypothetically speaking, he would make an insane impact sub for a team lime City tho you can’t see Pep going for a player like him who can’t wait to get rid of the ball the moment he gets it.

audienceandaudio

> Nobody’s going to come in with an offer for him coz every top team has a midfield he can’t get into. There are plenty of top teams that don't play exclusively possession football, or would be worried about losing possession to the extent that Bruno does. For example, Atletico would love a player like him, he'd start for Liverpool (though we're obviously not selling him to them), he'd start for PSG and he'd get in Inter's team, just as quick examples off the top of my head. He may not be suited for a Pep / Arteta / Xavi approach to control and football, but there are more ways to play. While he wouldn't start for Madrid with their insane midfield, we've seen how effective they have been over the years ceding possession and playing on lightning quick counters, which Bruno is excellent at. He's not a "luxury" player, he works and runs more than anyone. I think you'd be surprised how many teams would be in for him, if he was attainable this summer. In some hypothetical world where managers had access to a time machine in 2019, pretty much every club in the world would have attempted to sign him that summer.

nomadiclives

And yet nobody except Spurs was in for him when we got him. What does that tell you? The truth is he simply isn’t as good as United fans think he is. He had a sensational purple patch when he joined us and I also think he was best utilized by Ole in that period as a no 10. Since then, he has a lot of really terrible games masked by the odd hollywood pass that comes off. He might definitely have a role at Madrid, but I think you are basing their style of play on their champions league knockout games. Madrid bosses possession in their domestic games. They only sit back and counter when they know they cant win a possession footrace with their opponents (like City). In any case, as you said it’s a moot point. They already have 4 very good young midfielders + 2 veterans and who knows what else is coming through their academy. Atleti/Liverpool are laughable suggestions and Inter is never going to pay 100 mil for anybody.

brown_herbalist

>The truth is he simply isn’t as good as United fans think he is. He had a sensational purple patch when he joined us and I also think he was best utilized by Ole in that period as a no 10. Since then, he has a lot of really terrible games masked by the odd hollywood pass that comes off Lol what a whole bull crap

audienceandaudio

> And yet nobody except Spurs was in for him when we got him. What does that tell you? That we scouted very well and got an excellent player that was underrated by the wider football world at the time we bought him. A good club should do that frequently, we're just so piss poor at scouting and recruiting that the one time we do get it right, and buy a player that is *better* than everyone else thinks, we think it's indicative that everyone else was actually right all along. Nobody other than us were interested in (random example) Javier Hernandez when we signed him. > He had a sensational purple patch A purple patch lasts 6 weeks. Jesse Lingard had a sensational purple patch when he joined West Ham on loan. Bruno is a brilliant footballer that has played brilliantly for us for the majority of the time he's been with us. He's not perfectly consistent and has had some terrible games, but he's been our best player since he signed. >Atleti/Liverpool are laughable suggestions and Inter is never going to pay 100 mil for anybody. Bruno is an outrageously Simeone type midfielder, he's absolutely perfect for him. He's better than Szoboszlai at Liverpool, though that's obviously not happening. The fee is irrelevant for Inter because you said every top team has a midfield he can't get into - he'd get into Inter's team. He's not a realistic transfer for **any** of those clubs, but he'd make them better if he played for them.

ichionio

>yet nobody except Spurs was in for him when we got him We know the Portugese league isnt one that people would love to bet on. Especially when the player is mid-20s

ImNotMexican08

Bruno genuinely gets into any midfield in the world bar City’s. Because of how poor we’ve been, I think we under appreciate just how good he is. Every team would love to have a player like him in the squad. Teams wouldn’t come in for him because of his age and price

nomadiclives

And yet nobody except Spurs were interested when we bought him. I wonder why!

ImNotMexican08

Teams took notice of Bruno. You almost couldn’t with the numbers he was putting up at Sporting. The issue was that there is always a risk coming from the Portuguese League as it is an inferior league to the other 5 and we’ve seen players fail to make the jump. Just look at Enzo and Felix. And with the money Sporting wanted teams weren’t willing to take that risk. We were

nomadiclives

teams were scouting him like they scout thousands of other players and decided he wasn’t worth the risk. How does that disprove my point?

samd148

He’s better than De Bruyne pal

[deleted]

[удалено]

samd148

Put KDB in our setup and there’s not a chance that he reaches the heights, numbers or performances that Bruno does.

Moosje

That’s not what he said. He said he doesn’t get into another top team immediately and you’re arguing he gets into this City line up, which he doesn’t.

samd148

I’m arguing he’s better than De Bruyne. Not that he’d automatically play for City. KDB doesn’t even walk into that line up. It’s system based of course. But considering he’s the best chance creator in the world, surround him with better players, in a better system - he’d definitely get on the team sheet for any top club across Europe.

Moosje

But you can’t just create an argument out of nowhere. The point you replied to specifically was he wouldn’t get into a team like City’s. He doesn’t replace City in that lineup. I love Bruno and I hate City but I’m not going to be fucking stupid.

samd148

And I think he would. Because he’s better than De Bruyne.

Uncomfortable conversations people aren’t willing to have

nearly_headless_nic

Full quote on Bruno : >*After the game (vs Burnley), we had an issue with Bruno. He is a doubt for Monday,* ***we all know Bruno, never rule him out for any game. He will do his best to be available.***

Jhix_two

Bruno is start

Superfy

{if, Bruno == not dead, Bruno= Start}

S0phon

That's some cursed syntax.

Superfy

Heh.

Ldsantana

That syntax gave me a headache. If(Bruno != dead){ Bruno = start }

Superfy

So, Bruno is start?

Ldsantana

Always.

TheAwesomeroN

My friend, is okay, no?

iamdubers

Console.PrintLine("Is Bruno dead?");   string dead = Console.ReadLine();    if (dead == "no")   {   Console.PrintLine("Bruno is start.");    }    else   {   Console.PrintLine("Bruno is still start.");    }

Don_Quixote81

Bruno's going to play with his whole arm in a cast.

Edwardtrouserhands

He’s gonna be like that guy from District 9, the cast will keep covering more and more of his body gradually and by the time the FA cup final comes around all we’ll recognise is his arm gestures when arguing with officials.

[deleted]

Bruno REALLY needs a rest. If Mount is at all fit, I'd say leave Bruno on the bench. Worst thing we could possibly do is lose him for City, especially when our league results no longer really matter.

Brief_Ad_6929

Bruno’s squad position can’t be buy

giblets24

It will have been 9 days since he played last by Monday, if his injury is cleared by a physio he'll be fine

Outrageous-Cod-4654

Would not be against Bruno playing.

Berelus

Start can be buy.

yerrb0i

Fitness can be buy

alochner

Our players crawling to Wembley

OldTrafford25

I say give Bruno a rest here.

TStronks

We don't do that here lad. He's gonna press like a mad dog for 90+ minutes straight whether you like it or not.

ErnieMcTurtle

You'd need a firearm to rest him

GnRJames

Not round here partner, not round here

YoloJoloHobo

Could probably start Mount here, he's been slowly coming back but Bruno needs a rest.

Ghorardim71

ETH doesn't rest people. Only way to get rest is either get injured or defy him.

shanks_you

Bonkers the amount of injury this team has suffered this season. Something needs to be looked into the medical staff and the team training this off season.

juwanna-blomie

You'd think our squad was firing on all cylinders running their socks off for 90+ min every single game with the injuries we've had to almost every single position.

liamthelad

A lot of our squad do run lots. Running lots doesn't translate to running effectively. Nor is it always desirable. Seeing a game out in a controlled way can add up over a season

FactHopeful9347

Chasing oxygen as Mourinho said

humunculus43

It’s not just running, it’s sprints. Spend five minutes watching a game where you ignore the ball and just monitor the number of times our players are sprinting. Do the same with City, Arsenal and Liverpool and you’ll see why we get so many muscle injuries and they don’t. No. sprints has more impact than distance

QouthTheCorvus

Honestly, the game plan is very chaotic though. Playing such open football is definitely a risk. The team covers so much ground having to run back and forth.

juwanna-blomie

That has some validity to it. But when I see players like Garnacho putting in 120 min after having a minor hamstring injury a few days before leads me to wonder how much do these players have left in the tank and how much of them are just being lazy/ineffective or a combination of the two. Bruno even can put in a full 90 and pressure a lot and run everywhere. Yet it seems sometimes like Rashford can't be arsed to take 10 steps with some purpose, or AWB is jogging flailing his arms back to the box after he gave the ball away.

rbp25

Context is so important. You can see certain players like Garnacho making lung busting runs up and down the field but not every player is doing that. If that was the case then we’d be seeing stats how United players cover more distance than other teams when in fact its similar or even towards the opponents (Burnley and probs others)

LooseNudge

Well maybe that’s the reason they can’t run for 09 minutes flat out as they arnt fit, either recovering from injury, not match fit, over tired from over use due to rest of the squad being injured etc

juwanna-blomie

At this point it has become a chicken or the egg situation. But start of the season we had a lot of players available, and it has just dwindled rapidly. Long-term poor planning has also fucked us a bit, the LB situation and bad foresight to have faith in 1 LB in Shaw who is regularly injured for the last idk, 5-6 seasons, for at least several weeks at a time.

DualisticSilver

Definitely something up in training too. We looked tired early on in the season

stats193

No matter what physical state Bruno is in, He will get patched up and sent back into combat like Winter soldier.

QouthTheCorvus

Would prefer if it's possible for Bruno to sit this out. Is Mount healthy enough to play a whole game? Do we have two actual CBs? Wouldn't mind seeing Case/Mainoo/Mount for a midfield. I think that's actually a borderline balanced midfield. As for the Martial stuff - I have a feeling the goal is more on getting him in shape so that he can have some sort of post-MU career, rather than him actually being played.

FRiver

Martial will surely get some minutes if he's available, it's his farewell tour and we're playing for nothing in the league.

beardedwilly

We're playing for a pretty important Europa League spot. We need to have as many routes into the CL as possible next season, as 4th will always be difficult now.

Miliktheman

As long as Mount can play 60 minutes, Amad should be able to step in for 30 minutes to finish out the game. There's no point risking Bruno.

redditaccount300000

I doubt mount is healthy enough to play 90. Long injury spell, some minutes, another week? Injured, then available last week(can’t remember if he got any minutes).

PrettyPrettaaayyGood

At this rate Kat the receptionist will start up top in the final, with a CB pairing of Jonny and Helen Evans.

reddevils

*Kath

PrettyPrettaaayyGood

Sir Jim took the h and sold it.

reddevils

*Glazers

thoseion

EtH shot down suggestions that virtually the entire team is up for sale. Called the stories "totally crap" and said the media need to get better sources. I wonder what source they had for this story as it was published by a couple of different outlets.

Away_Associate4589

He didn't really deny it though. He denied that they would all be sold, not that they weren't all sellable which is a bit of a different thing. To be honest the news story didn't seem terribly shocking to me. It's a complete cliche but it's true that every player has their price. If a player wanted to leave and we received an acceptable offer, we'd be open to selling them. It's not really groundbreaking.

PennyWhyte

The same source every season? It's not speculation is it, I could have swore at this time last season and the season before, that was the same headline and stories doing the rounds

ZachMich

That same story is run every season with a slightly different headline. We hear of a massive clearout every other summer for the past decade basically.

PeelThePain

I don't think they had a source at all. One decides to write a story, others report on it which will create some sort of collective credibility. Obviously they didn't count on ETH immediately debunking it.

Gilburto

5 centre backs out of action currently and none of them mentioned as near return. United have had something like 31 different back lines this season, there's a good chance AWB - Maguire - Case - Dalot is our most played one by the end. That's insane

reddevils

He said Evan’s is close

[deleted]

and Martinez is back in training, right? Not saying he'll be fit anytime soon, but at least he's coming along.

JosePRizaI

Yea but according to r/reddevils fans SaCk EtH

dispelthemyth

Time to mount the Mount ~~train~~ horse

JustBeingHere4U

Martial gets injured? Its tuesday Shaw gets injured? Sucks but understandable why. Rashford gets injured? Its not surprising Mount gets injured? That's weird. He doesn't have a track record of that, but whatever. Bruno gets injured? Somethings fucking wrong with the medical team and training. Get those shits checked out. This is extremely concerning. Especially because a multi-billion sports entity doesnt seem to be doing anything about our players falling injured week after week. We need some answers.

Fuckedaroundoutfound

Mount gets injured a lot though. Not defending our dogshite regime but he has spent a lot of time injured prior to joining us

reddevilad

Don_Quixote81

The media must be so annoyed that Ten Hag takes the high road with Sancho, robbing them of clickbaity nonsense stories. I don't know whether it's because he knows he's safe or because he figures he's probably done, but I'm enjoying Ten Hag being more impatient and cutting with these journalists. We need a lot more pushback against bullshit, no matter who's in charge.

rustymacdonald

One way or another the current situation with Sancho will not continue. If EtH stays then, yes, it is possible that Sancho is sold. If EtH leaves I would bet that Sancho is back and gets a chance under a new manager - he's too valuable of a potential asset to give up on if you've already removed the person he has beef with. But even if EtH stays he may have Sancho in his squad - either because he couldn't be sold or because the hierarchy above EtH told him to make it work. The only situation where EtH benefits from slagging off Sancho right now is if EtH knows he's staying and that Sancho is 100% gone. Since the possibility exists that EtH leaves and/or Sancho can't/won't be sold there is zero benefit to going scorched earth on it. Even if EtH knew he was on his way out he wouldn't want to get a Mourinho-like reputation for bashing players in public lest it effect his next job. And since EtH is widely perceived to be justified with regards to Sancho it doesn't cost him anything to take the high road.

Wise_Raccoon_771

Time to give Mason a go at 10 and give Bruno a well earned break. He needed a break without being an injury doubt anyway

Isserley_

Just wrap them all up in cotton wool until the final.

B0z22

I'm just whelmed at this point.

Neelahs

Why risk Bruno?? What's there to play for now in the league? Better rest for the cup.

dopeveign

Bruno needs to rest these pl matches don't matter

Yinkypinky

Welp

Sheikhabusosa

Well done lads , you have broken Bruno

FlashyRashy

While it would be impressive to see Bruno play every minute the whole season, I really wouldn't mind him missing out on a few matches before the FA cup final. Same with Garnacho, Dalot, and Mainoo but that seem unlikely

Donthitsme

Lmao good one, we all know Bruno will be the first person on the pitch

meeks2000

As long as Bruno is still breathing, he’ll play

roooxanne

They finally broke Bruno. Who knew making him play a full 90 through niggles would cause this?

Cedarplankton

My captain. Pretending he’s injured to make the team feel better about their recent injuries.

bichkrichdrick

ETH would wheel Bruno out in a wheel chair before giving him a rest

simionix

The "high value" quote of Ten Hag is very telling. Seems that the strategy is to just talk him up on the outside for a better fee, but they all know the guy is a complete waste of space internally.

TacoDirtyToMe

Hope we rest Bruno tbh, we have big matches against Arsenal and Newcastle coming up then the cup final. Rather him be 100% for those than risk further injury against Palace. But he probably starts anyways.

BlackHorse944

Bruno is not missing a game and even if he does it gives a good chance for Mount to show what he's made of. Also, great answer on the Sancho situation.

simionix

The guy will turn up on the field in crutches if he has to.

BlackHorse944

He doesn't have to though. We have Mount as a sub but Bruno refuses to take a minute off

Educational-Option18

There's no reason to play anyone unless they're 100% fit

knan313

Fuck CP and European conference. Focus on Wembley and nothing else.

Grand-Bullfrog3861

Love him taking the piss out of the media

Takerith

I hope that ETH was just trying to reign in some of the more extreme rumours that they'd be selling literally the whole squad. I would be worried if he didn't think a large portion of players will be sold; I'd be even more worried if he didn't want to sell a lot of the current players.

simionix

I think it's a misunderstanding. He took the reports to say most of the squad *will be sold* when I think they reported that they are *up for sale.* Slight difference in wording but big difference in meaning.

Tekniclas

Anthony Martial… LOL

Scholes_SC2

Just give the main players some rest. PL season is over for us anyways

Nefarious0_0

Ngl I forget we still have Martial

West_Principle_8190

They want united to miss out on europe

CFD330

Is it only 5th place that gets a Europa League spot, or is it both 5th and 6th? We aren't catching Spurs for 5th, but we could potentially just hold Newcastle off and stay in 6th if things go right.

FOHwork

6th gets Europa if City win the cup. Or we get it by winning the cup.

chippa93

Genuinely wouldn't mind Bruno missing a game, or at least on the bench so we can try Mount in midfield and also see how the team looks without him

sooshi

At this rate, if Bruno does play then he might do serious damage to himself later on. Don't want him to suffer like Batistuta so hopefully he rests

[deleted]

I don’t get this guy. He says “we are below the levels of expectation for Manchester United”. Erik, you said last week “we are the most dynamic and entertaining team in the league.”

FRiver

>I'm now going into my fifth window, two windows quite okay, two we missed.. Which ones you reckon he's on about?

TacoDirtyToMe

That interaction between Melissa Reddy and the press guy after Ten Hags answer was pretty funny lol

tavernstyle312

No one deserves a week off more than Bruno sadly we probably can't afford to give him rest

Manofthebog88

“Martial partially involved”. Sounds about right.

ParkJi-Sung

Bruno is so fucking good, god bless him.

rnnd

Bruno really needs to rest. the fa cup final is very close now. We aren't really going anywhere in the league. The manager should just rest those that need rest so they can be fit for the final.

fardeenoameeno92

Mourinho got some slack when he rested players and gave the likes of Tuanzebe, McTominay playing time before the EL final but he managed the squad so they came out firing against Ajax. ETH should do the same , there's nothing to play for in the league it's already a failure we need to go all in on the cup to salvage this season

Redwinevino

Hard to even care anymore - maybe better we avoid the Europa Conference anyway so rest everyone till the FA Cup final

Miliktheman

Rest Bruno, we're out of the Champions League race, Mount is available and ready to step in. If he can't even step in to replace a partially fit Bruno in a game without anything massive on the line then it was a major mistake to buy him. Let's not risk Bruno for nothing.

senorfresco

wtf does Martial do at this club? less than 20 total goals in 4 seasons in all competitions.

DiscoTech1639

Fuck off is Martial still there, genuinely thought he’d disappeared

[deleted]

[удалено]

QouthTheCorvus

His arm has practically been in a sling lately. This is real. Playing with that kinda injury complicates it.

[deleted]

No.

JosePRizaI

Name another player in any Club in europe that lasted 9 season getting paid like world class superstar but contributed so little? Ladies and Gentlemen. The one only Anthony Martial Absolute robbery to United.
