Leif Davies is my hope, also goes forward a lot and should not be to expensive and was the MVP for his tema last season when they got promoted. So surprised there is so few rumours about him in general this summer.
Manchester United want De Ligt to play on the right side of central defence and have not given up hope of signing Branthwaite to play alongside him on the left if they can sell players to raise the funds. #MUFC [
@ChrisWheelerDM]
This would be perfect,Sell Maguire(ideally keep Maguire and sell Lindelof but I think Maguire will get us more money) and get De ligt and Braithwaite
Should we get Chalobah in as another CB?
I mean, odds are we'll likely get rid of one or both of Lindelof and Maguire, so we'd need another body in there.
I'd prefer to get Branthwaite, but he'd cost a tonne more. I reckon we could get Chalobah for 25 or hopefully less.
He's 23, 6'4", and can play across the backline.
Or, perhaps, we can revisit getting Branthwaite if we offload both Maguire and Lindelof and get some money.
Thoughts?
I'm not sure, I rather keep Maguire as the backup then Chalobah on the right side from what I've seen or read. If they get De Ligt I think a left footed backup CB is what is needed. Ignoring the price Brantwaithe is kind of perfect as a backup that can still learn, but he is just way too expensive to be a backup also.
Maguire only has a year (+1) left on his 190k a week contract. Sure, we can keep him for a season and move him on, but next year he'll be 32 and slower with only a year left.
It's better for us to basically get him off the books for a guy nearly a decade younger and someone who'll likely not be on the same wages (unless our exec team are brain-dead).
Chalobah presents a good market opportunity to buy a young homegrown player for not too much.
I just smell something fishy, he was not good enough to be a regular starter for Chelsea, his stats are average, and Chelsea seems to want to sell him, for a value I agree seems quite low, and still no clubs are interested yet?
True, but I think he'd work for a 3/4th choice CB.
After all, we need depth. Maguire, Lindelof, and Evans will need to be moved on at some point. Evans will likely retire at the end of the season.
We need 5 cbs for depth.
De Ligt, Martinez, Branthwaite, Kambawala, and Chalobah would be decent CB depth. Plus, with two homegrown players, it'd help us reach our quota.
Ideally, I'd love to replace Chalobah with a more quality and cheaper player, dunno if it's possible, though.
Ain't Chalobah also have some struggle with injuries??
I think he is a good player who can cover quite a few positions but we already are working on De ligt(and there are questions on his fitness) and getting another injury prone player would not be the right choice imo
Fabrizio update on YouTube:
Zirkzee’s €40m release clause is now valid and available to be activated, Milan still has major problems with the agent’s commissions, and we remain in direct communication with his agent. We’re having an internal discussion on it right now because we have no problem with the commission, salary, contract length, and release clause. We can do the deal at any moment we want. Our striker budget is actually above €40m so its now up to if we really want him, our final decision is coming.
Talks have started between Man United and Bayern about De Ligt, we’ve confirmed our interest to them. De Ligt wants the move, Man United are the only club in contact with him, he is giving us priority. Personal terms are close to being agreed upon, it's on the clubs. We feel we can agree on a deal around €50m (including add-ons). The conversation is ongoing. Ten Hag is pushing hard for the move.
No? Don’t you want to see if zirkzee is the right profile for the future? If the leadership actually want to fight for the title in the near future, they’d want to make sure everyone they buy from now has a place in a title worthy squad
It literally says they want the player, they're happy with the move, the price, the agent fees, him being under budget.. but they're discussing.
They clearly think he is a fit lol
If Wan Bisaka gets sold, I like him for €20m as cheap second option to Dalot and third option on the left. Its a meme that he is again a dutch/ajax player but he would fit. He is injury prone, but if that is priced in he could be good value.
Just a random thought but considering De Ligt might join and I understand he has not worked, but any chance Van De Beek could at least become a rotation player or is he destined to find another club
For the love of god no lol. 4 seasons at the club with a grand total of 62 appearances, none of them memorable.
The signing of anyone isn’t going to change him. He’s got to go.
This is so unbelievable to me considering how good he was for Ajax.. I remember watching them against Real Madrid in the CL and the guy was everywhere. Always baffles me how he’s been no good at all for us.
Maybe the wage cut people say about deligt is just our typical non champions league lower salary. Don't all of them earn 20% less or something like that?
If they both end up playing CL and swapping players around I'm sure UEFA will start saying something. People need to stop playing the victim and acting like it's the end of the world. I was really impressed by Ugarte's defensive capabilities tbh. I don't think he'll be lacking in that department at all ,he's really energetic and fully committed. But I'll agree that it'd still be a sideways move for us because he would offer nothing more for us in possession than what we already had. It's odd that we are going for a classic DM when the whole of Europe is moving away from that to having an XI of players comfortable with the ball.
Thought experiment - we were heavily linked with De Light (insert checkmark emoji) before he went to Juve and we signed Harry.
We paid a smidge more for Harry than Juve paid for De Ligt, but it was still 75 million euros.
If we get De Ligt today for closer to 50 million euros, is that good business overall to have gotten him for 33% less five years later with him now just entering his theoretical prime, or would it have been better to pay more for him five year ago and not gotten Harry at all?
Are you forgetting or conveniently ommiting that we threw a wage package at him intended to blow Barca out of the water at the height of their stupidity with wages? I wouldn't call throwing everything you can at a player and him still saying no "good business" lol
All the athletic reporters should be tier 1 or at least tier 2. If one of them waffles the whole organization loses its reputation, so they probably corroborate their information internally before publishing.
I did a rough analysis of players who could fit in as a DM, prompted by our links to Ugarte. His main weakness defensively is in aerial duels.
My main criteria were defensive qualities, in particular aerial success, duel success and ball recoveries. Tried to find players 25 or under. Would have liked to have assessed their passing and general ability on the ball but haven't had the time.
Those with a bit more knowledge of the following players, would love to hear your thoughts. All players play primarily as a holding midfielder.
Pepelu (Valencia)
Dion Lopy (Almeria)
Samu Costa (Mallorca)
Anton Stach (Hoffenheim)
Licha and De Ligt sounds like an amazing partnership on paper IMO.
Funnily enough they both played brilliantly for Ajax, both under ETH but never played a single minute together.
Only thing I'm hesistant about with Ugarte is his build and how we kinda need size and aerial presence in the midfiels. Plus, he's about average with the ball at best which would be fine if Mainoo were to improve his long passing
I like Rabiot and think he will be a great addition, but don't want the extra baggage that comes with him nor do I think he wage demands are reasonable.
If he and Juve can't reach an agreement, I wonder if we can finally convince him to reduce his demands.
Rabiot hasn't had the kind of "baggage" you're thinking about since he was a kid.
He's nearly 30. We don't need to be scared of his mummy anymore. He's a good player, an upgrade on our center mids and he's free.
Romania sending De Ligt and Zirkzee home.

Nah I can easily see this Uruguay make it to the final. They are playing the best football in the tournament and they're better than Brazil right now. Also will help us sell Facu for 25M.
I wouldn't want that for them tbh. Zirkzee and De Ligt can probably handle it,they are barely playing. But the Uruguayans are particularly passionate about their country.
I think with the Euros keeping most of us busy we haven't hit muppet season just yet. Once the Euros are over we'll be so bored, this will be the outlet.
On top of that our new team that will largely define our transfer strategy (Berrada, Ashworth, Vivell) are yet to get going. Once they're all in place I expect more movement.
It promises to be an exciting summer fingers crossed.
Everything about de ligt that can be said has been at this point. The new info was that United are still moving forward with de ligt...that was expected already.
It's all people have been talking about since the news came out, there's only so much you can repeat the argument that some people think his wages are too high, he's too injury prone or can't play in a Highline while other's don't, as various info that is essentially "United still moving forward with de ligt deal" updates come along
Old thread was pinned for awhile longer than usual so you had to actively seek this thread out. Been a lot of de Ligt discourse this week lol don't worry
I think part of it is this summer hasn't really been saga-y, we haven't gone back for Branthwaite, we're probably activating a release clause for Zirkzee, after the initial de Ligt bomba it has been going nice and steady. All nice and simple.
Matthijs de Ligt would be willing to take a pay cut to join Manchester United.
The Dutchman earns around €15m/year at Bayern. United would like to offer below €12m/year. #MUFC [@CMoffiziell] ✅💰
WHO IS THIS VENERABLE REPORTER!!
True, we've been burnt before. The main thing for me is his age. And also the majority view of Bayern fans who rate him as their best CB.
To me it sounds like a financial situation for Bayern who want to replace him with a cheaper option on lower salary.
Maybe a dumb question but does anyone know the responsibilities of Wilcox vs Ashworth? Aka what does the technical director handle vs the sporting director?
Ashworth is the entire club i think, mens womens academy etc, overall vision and Wilcox will be getting into the specifics of what happens on the ground like play style and such
So talking a little out of my ass, but my understanding from previous articles was that Wilcox is in charge of football activities while Ashworth oversees and is in charge of knitting together the football, medical, and nutrition departments plus anything else that's sporting adjacent. So Ashworth has direct oversight over Wilcox and is charge of coordinating and synchronizing Wilcox's department with other departments to make sure they pull in the same direction.
Berrada is the same way with Ashworth - Ashworth directly reports to him and so do the comparable heads of marketing, accounting, etc.
[fussball.news](http://fussball.news) ... great website, look super professional.
Definitely the most prestige newspaper!
(on the other hand, I believe he will take a pay cut)
Pretty excited about the option of signing De Ligt. Some people seem to be opposed to him because he is similar to Maguire, but I'd argue he is definitely more mobile than Harry while being at least as good defensively and also offers a goal threat, just like Harry. What's stopping Maguire from being a starter for us is his lack of mobility, so I can certainly see De Ligt being a very good player for us just because he offers the mobility Maguire lacks. In terms of pace, De Ligt isn't the quickest, but he is average and probably comparable to someone like Ruben Dias which is still more than Maguire offers and more importantly, he doesn't seem to turn like a fridge which is Maguire's biggest limiting factor. High line may not be the best use of De Ligt, but he imo has more tools to handle it than Maguire does and if we can really get him for 30-40mil, then it's a no-brainer for me. No comparable center-backs available in such price range thanks to UEFA stopping the Todibo deal and Yoro wanting to move to Real Madrid.
Latest Luckhurst report on Rashford, am very happy his camp have realized his idiotic brother isn't up to it and are seemingly partnering with a proper agency to get his move. Hope he gets a good one.
I predict a disappointing 50-60 million sale. Maybe more in add-ons.
Who would we get to replace him? Nico Williams is cheap-ish release clause but on a crazy wage, Kvaradona would be expensive to prise away from Napoli. Anthony Gordon for Brexit Jims British core?
Need to listen to all sources, sort the wheat from the chaff
He always has his nose in the players agent business. Was the first to report Rashford had hired a new PR woman and it raised eyebrows at United cos of her other clients (Ronaldo and Sancho), think that even got confirmed by Laurie.
Nico would be fantastic, such a dangerous player, can play on both wings and his wages aren't even that bad. He is supposedly on something like 200k Euros a week, so around 170k a week in Pounds. Sancho is on 250k a week already and Rashford is supposedly on something like 300k a week, so if we sell Rashford and Sancho while getting Nico as a replacement, we'd still be saving up to 380k a week on wages, maybe less if he gets a wage increase but I don't think he would demand much more than he is already earning. If he does want a raise, then something like 200k a week would be fine by me if he performs like he did this season with Bilbao/Spain.
anyone like Alan Varela (DM) from Porto? He's got pretty good passing range, still the classic destroyer type DM.
Should be around 40-50 million euros. Honestly him and Ugarte would be the best combo of DMs on the market right now that doesn't cost a fortune.
I agree that we do need 2 DM's if Casemiro leaves, but I think we'd go for a cheaper second option or look to bring in someone on loan. This isn't something that's been reported, but just my opinion.
I dont know how are we finding enough in our kitty to bring in so many high level executives.
If we always had the money it makes you even more enraged that Glazers left everything on the shoulders of Jon Murtough and Richard Arnold.
I doubt the executives make anywhere near what the players make.
Quick research shows the average NFL general manager makes between $1-3 million per year. Not that it's insignificant, but that comes out to about a Brandon Williams per year in wages at the higher end of the spectrum, assuming executives at big football clubs pay about what the NFL does.
And that makes the situation even worse.
These Glazers haven't bothered to hire right people and set up the structure post SAF which have now led our club to a downward spiral.
At their core, the Glazers are an insular family business, but instead of owning a chain of gas stations in Florida they own an NFL team and one of the largest football teams in the world.
That's why they kept Woodward for so long...he had earned the families trust and loyalty that was more valuable to them than any specific performance metrics that outsiders could have theoretically achieved better.
It's also something Sir Jim grasped early on in the bidding process and why he was able to outmaneuver the Qataris.
If we want de Ligt I hope we wrap it up quickly, the Bayern board have become pretty Barca-esque in how erratic they are and I would presume they're not all in agreement internally with this MDL out Tah in plan.
Could imagine them turning around out of the blue and being like "DE LIGT WON'T LEAVE, AND HE'S VICE-CAPTAIN NOW!"

Ornstein has confirmed we're in talks with Bayern
It's weird. The mobile article and the desktop article are completely different in how they show themselves. In the mobile one it looks like he has directly said it.
I'm hopeful that Kambwala can be a good rotation option, showed promise last season. I'm not sure of the Maguire situation but I don't think a sale is out of the question. It could open up room to sign a second CB.
Branthwaite deal seems like it could cost too much for us. An interesting aside, Branthwaite made his breakthrough at PSV under RvN in 22-23. Hopefully influences his willingness to push for a move.
A CB rotation of Licha, De Ligt, Branthwaite, Kambwala and Evans would be one of the best in the league.
I think we really need to start seeing proper rotation from EtH. Taking Pep as a barometer, City gave almost equal minutes to Dias, Ake, Akanji and Gvardiol last season. And that's not including Stones who was injured a fair bit. It helps maintain fitness through a long season and the players stay motivated.
One left footer as backup behind Licha and a right footed starter is needed so two, but the backup can probably be a bit cheaper as it is mainly a backup/rotating position.
So far it feels like a nice buildup to an effective summer window. Probably no great/bombastic signings, but smarter deals. Hope the new leadership delivers!
While I was unsure at first after the Ashworth situation I am starting to think Ineos really know what they are doing.
I was bit sceptical of the De Ligt but if he is one of possible 2 new CB I think it could be a really good buy.
Plus I recon they will secure it for €50m total including addons. I recon something like €42m +8m addons. Which actually would be £35m fee with +£7m addons. Thoughts?
He is fucking 21 year old, in 115 minut of his country biggest game in history. It happens, GOAT level player missed a pen 5 minutes before that. He showed some nice link up, ability to shot, win headers, duels. Boy has all it takes to become top top striker.
I dont want him here cause we dont need 2nd junior striker of simmillar profile but your logic is insane.
We really messed up his loans. Twice went to teams that are a hot mess. At least he played in Birmingham but the Sevilla loan was terrible and we sent him there just as he started breaking through here. I think there's a player there, but I don't know if it's a United player. Will probably be sold this summer but if not I hope he can cement a squad role for himself. He's an 8-10 hybrid but I can actually see him developing into a 6 and playing next to and behind Kobbie. Pre-season will be interesting to watch
We can't of course be sure the rumors were true, but I think it was Hannibal who insisted on the Sevilla loan (he had offers from Everton and maybe Dortmund...although the Dortmund one was during the summer rather than the winter transfer window).
The club's job and responsability towards young players is to guide and lead them to the best path for their development. They should've identified the absolute mess Sevilla was in as a bad environment to send a young player. I'm sure he was tempted by the big club and the beautiful city and climate but for the sake of his development the club should've insisted on the better choice for his career. He's 21 now and has barely played senior football for a year. These are the most crucial years for a player's development. We will see what happens with him in the summer. I can see a rotation squad role for him for United but he needs to play and I doubt he will play much here.
I think there is potentially a backup role there for him depending in outgoings (casemiro, amrabaat, eriksen, donny all perhaps leave), but as I understand he is entering final year of his contract, so might be better that we cash in rather than lose him in a free next summer.
I doubt he renews if he is a peripheral squad player, and I doubt he is anything other than peripheral squad player if he is retained
He has so much ability, but is just a liability with his indiscipline, and its been like that since we signed him as a 16 year old. He simply hasn't learned to curb that recklessness in his game
Guys what was your favourite transfer announcement moment bar (Ronaldo). Mine was waking up early to check for bus cancellations and snow day announcements only to see we signed Depay after watching his highlights countless times! Was Extremely Elated that day! How about you guys???
Jadon Sancho.
It was the first time probably since Rooney we signed a big name young player. It’s easy in hindsight to criticize his work ethic and attitude but Sancho at 21 had 100+ G/A in 3 years. I truly thought he would be the best English forward of his generation.
It’s a shame how it turned out.
Bar Ronaldo? Lol.
Absolutely atrocious and brainless transfer move. Not only we doomed our season, but missed an opportunity to send a perfect Trojan horse to a City, making the league much more interesting.
What about Zalewski for backup LB? Versatile young player that likes to get forward similar to Shaw.
Leif Davies is my hope, also goes forward a lot and should not be to expensive and was the MVP for his tema last season when they got promoted. So surprised there is so few rumours about him in general this summer.
Kadioglu is only 24, can play either LB or RB, and transfer markt estimates his cost at €21m. Seems like the perfect replacement for wan bissaka.
Man Arda Guler is gonna be a serious baller. Madrid pull is just different and it's unfair how much young talent they got.

I totally agree but would still love a left footed backup instead of Chalobah. But someone cheaper than Brantwaithe.
Build reporting that PSG are interested in de Ligt
That's a lie, most other sources say De Ligt is only negotiating with us
Bild isnt a great source, but it's weird to say that PSG having interest in De Ligt is a lie because he prefers us.
No it's not that he prefers us, he's just straight not up not negotiating with anyone else, we are his priority.
So PSG could still be interested in him, even if he isnt
Actually when you put it like that
BILD is a shit source either way, German version of the scum
Let’s hope things are advanced enough so he signs with us

"were having an internal discussion because they have absolutely no issue with any part of this deal" ..what exactly are they discussing?
I imagine that Ashworth and Vivell just came in so they’re being briefed on it.
Doesn't seem like much of a discussion "Welcome aboard, were buying Zirkzee..okay you're all caught up"
No? Don’t you want to see if zirkzee is the right profile for the future? If the leadership actually want to fight for the title in the near future, they’d want to make sure everyone they buy from now has a place in a title worthy squad

Oh my bad lol I get it now
I don't know what the wait is either tbh
Feels like it's just a matter of time with Ugarte, Zirkzee, and De Ligt since we’re already in talks with PSG.
Mazraoui up for sale for €20-30 million according to BILD . They are also saying at the moment some Turkish clubs are showing interest in him.
If Wan Bisaka gets sold, I like him for €20m as cheap second option to Dalot and third option on the left. Its a meme that he is again a dutch/ajax player but he would fit. He is injury prone, but if that is priced in he could be good value.
He's ridiculously injury prone
Good on the ball, and comfortable at both RB and LB. Would be a decent bit of business of we can get him at a reasonable price
If United is looking for a right back it must be Vanderson or Simakan, preferably the former
bad signing
Turkish clubs interested? That’s all I need to know lol
Doesn't he have a heart problem?
Just a random thought but considering De Ligt might join and I understand he has not worked, but any chance Van De Beek could at least become a rotation player or is he destined to find another club

Mount joined before preseason last year this is nothing new
We got a transfer done earlier than this last summer
Then i remember how smoothly the Donny transfer went. I will just wait.
Mason Mount was announced July 5th.
What transfer is done?
Must be hyped about Tom heaton
Are we back to the “man Utd is linked with every player a club wishes to sell” summer window?
With Savio moving to City, remind me why we couldn't sign Todibo?
Not allowed because our owners also own Nice and we play in the same competition as them (Europa League)
Our 25% owners. Meanwhile technically 49% Leipzig and Salzburg can do whatever they want bc Rasenballsport
If they both end up playing CL and swapping players around I'm sure UEFA will start saying something. People need to stop playing the victim and acting like it's the end of the world. Same European competition
Spurs having a sneakily good window with Dragusin and Archie Gray. Good base with VDV, Dragusin, Udogie, Porro and Gray
Also Swedish midfield talent Lucas Bergvall
Strong links with young Rennes midfielder Désiré Doué too. Really exciting prospect according to ligue 1 fans.
Didn't they already have dragusin? They pretty much just bought Gray it's not anything special
Imo seems like they are decent with talent spotting
They have always been very good at talent spotting. Ironically it’s their big transfers like Ndombele and Richarlison that let them down.

A De Ligt transfer that actually might go smoothly instead of dragging on for an entire window before ending in nothing? Is this real?
Amazing how easy it is when genuine football people are in charge.

Who cares, we were run like a circus back then.
I love your positivity
All the athletic reporters should be tier 1 or at least tier 2. If one of them waffles the whole organization loses its reputation, so they probably corroborate their information internally before publishing.
Not really. They report on their own, some are still more reliable than others
Not quite how it works imo
I did a rough analysis of players who could fit in as a DM, prompted by our links to Ugarte. His main weakness defensively is in aerial duels. My main criteria were defensive qualities, in particular aerial success, duel success and ball recoveries. Tried to find players 25 or under. Would have liked to have assessed their passing and general ability on the ball but haven't had the time. Those with a bit more knowledge of the following players, would love to hear your thoughts. All players play primarily as a holding midfielder. Pepelu (Valencia) Dion Lopy (Almeria) Samu Costa (Mallorca) Anton Stach (Hoffenheim)
Licha and De Ligt sounds like an amazing partnership on paper IMO. Funnily enough they both played brilliantly for Ajax, both under ETH but never played a single minute together.
Ugarte in front of them sounds even better.
The wages Eriksen is earning right now going right to him wouldn't be too bad right? Or does he want more than that.
Almost 30, expensive with baggage is not the type of player united should be looking for.
Malacia still dead?
Romania sending De Ligt and Zirkzee home. https://preview.redd.it/ffj3z7x3c4ad1.jpeg?width=896&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15d44e4bda480e7534234ae2fe0252c79d4995c0
Need a Uruguay QF exit too send Facu and Manuel Ugarte home
We don't need Facu
Nah I can easily see this Uruguay make it to the final. They are playing the best football in the tournament and they're better than Brazil right now. Also will help us sell Facu for 25M.
I wouldn't want that for them tbh. Zirkzee and De Ligt can probably handle it,they are barely playing. But the Uruguayans are particularly passionate about their country.
https://www.reddit.com/r/ACMilan/s/DqbF6RWhQw Milan's situation on Zirkzee.Very reliable reporter
Ben Jacobs saying the initial package being discussed is 40M euros which means 34M pounds
Any reason why it's so quiet in here? We've got T1 linking us to a very good CB and there's hardly any excitement here with comments an hour apart?
I think with the Euros keeping most of us busy we haven't hit muppet season just yet. Once the Euros are over we'll be so bored, this will be the outlet. On top of that our new team that will largely define our transfer strategy (Berrada, Ashworth, Vivell) are yet to get going. Once they're all in place I expect more movement. It promises to be an exciting summer fingers crossed.
Everything about de ligt that can be said has been at this point. The new info was that United are still moving forward with de ligt...that was expected already.
I get that; it's just seemingly low key with only 200 odd comments even with strong transfer rumours going about
It's all people have been talking about since the news came out, there's only so much you can repeat the argument that some people think his wages are too high, he's too injury prone or can't play in a Highline while other's don't, as various info that is essentially "United still moving forward with de ligt deal" updates come along
For that Ornstein and Whitwell need to speak.
Old thread was pinned for awhile longer than usual so you had to actively seek this thread out. Been a lot of de Ligt discourse this week lol don't worry I think part of it is this summer hasn't really been saga-y, we haven't gone back for Branthwaite, we're probably activating a release clause for Zirkzee, after the initial de Ligt bomba it has been going nice and steady. All nice and simple.
Heaton has signed a one year extension.
Matthijs de Ligt would be willing to take a pay cut to join Manchester United. The Dutchman earns around €15m/year at Bayern. United would like to offer below €12m/year. #MUFC [@CMoffiziell] ✅💰 WHO IS THIS VENERABLE REPORTER!!
Ok now I'm starting to like this. That's somewhere around what Maguire makes so it shouldn't hurt our wage structure.
My math isn't very good. Isn't this around 225k (pounds) a week?
£195k or thereabouts
Bayern getting both Olise and Xavi Simons…
Kompany is the luckiest man in the business. Somehow fell upward into the Bayern job and somehow they're suddenly good at recruitment again
Well, apart from selling their best CB to us..
Are they though, or do they know something we don't. I'm not fully on board the DeLigt hype train yet.
Ashworth is the entire club i think, mens womens academy etc, overall vision and Wilcox will be getting into the specifics of what happens on the ground like play style and such
And I would guess that Wilcox reports into Ashworth.
Berrada is the same way with Ashworth - Ashworth directly reports to him and so do the comparable heads of marketing, accounting, etc.
de Ligt reportedly happy to take a paycut to join
his after tax pay will be fine right? this will probably just be the difference in DE vs UK taxes?

[fussball.news](http://fussball.news) ... great website, look super professional. Definitely the most prestige newspaper! (on the other hand, I believe he will take a pay cut)

I don't think so. His "news" is full of bullshit.
Rashford isn't being sold.
We listening to Luckhurst now?
Need to listen to all sources, sort the wheat from the chaff He always has his nose in the players agent business.
Spending 80m euros on two DM's seems a bit much considering how much money we have to spend this transfer window.
No one knows how much money we have to spend in this transfer window…
I think it depends on whether Case moves on. If he does we're short on that position.
Deals for Case, Sancho and Greenwood could really open up the transfer window for us.
Bruno, Ugarte, Kobbie midfield would be nice
Bit small though. But I'd still be happy with that
Can Frimpong play down the whole right hand side? Would he be an alternative to Olise?
I'd say it's unlikely he leaves Leverkusen this summer with their upward trajectory, Xabi staying and CL football.
From what I’ve seen he’s a good old right footed right winger
If we want de Ligt I hope we wrap it up quickly, the Bayern board have become pretty Barca-esque in how erratic they are and I would presume they're not all in agreement internally with this MDL out Tah in plan. Could imagine them turning around out of the blue and being like "DE LIGT WON'T LEAVE, AND HE'S VICE-CAPTAIN NOW!"
LMAO you called it
Called it because of a fan petition? The fans already didn't want him to leave
I saw the tier 1 tag and petition and assumed it was an awkward translation of a movement within Bayern, not a literal fan petition lol.
It's a change.org petition
Watched the Copa America and Ugarte is the real deal, he just is
https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5607415/2024/07/02/manchester-united-arsenal-transfer-latest-liverpool-real-madrid/ Ornstein has confirmed we're in talks with Bayern
Am I missing the confirmation? He is talking generally about the transfer and referencing a report from Dan Sheldon about talks with Bayern
It's weird. The mobile article and the desktop article are completely different in how they show themselves. In the mobile one it looks like he has directly said it.
Do we think it's De Ligt and another defender (if things go our way maybe even Branthwaite) or just one?
Depends on whether one of Lindelof/Maguire i leaving i guess
Perhaps both?
One left footer as backup behind Licha and a right footed starter is needed so two, but the backup can probably be a bit cheaper as it is mainly a backup/rotating position.
So far it feels like a nice buildup to an effective summer window. Probably no great/bombastic signings, but smarter deals. Hope the new leadership delivers!
Can we add Ashworth to ins?
I knows transfers in are exciting. I really want to know about and hope for transfers out though. Can we go set up a sales booth in Saudi?
Saudi transfer window opens on the 18th. So I guess that's when we'll know if Saudi clubs are going for our players.
Can’t imagine Ashworth was sat doing nothing during his break, interested to see what plans he kicks into motion straight away
You'd think he and Berrada have been consulted on and approved the De Ligt and Zirkzee moves.
Yeah certainly hope so!
Thoughts?
Anyone still wants us to sign Sesko? :)))
Good player with bright future, one miss doesnt make him bad player.
I think he looks quality
[удалено]
This is a dreadful take. 1 miss doesn't say anything about mentality.
So Ronaldo is weak, according to your logic?
Garnacho/Hojlund missed a lot of chances last season, does that give them a weak mentality?
Yes. We've had players missing bigger chances before and it's been fine. One miss doesn't say anything about his mentality
Hannibal coming back from Sevilla would be like a new signing under Woodward
Kind of curious what happens to him this summer. Will he be given a squad role or shipped off on another loan/sold.
I doubt he renews if he is a peripheral squad player, and I doubt he is anything other than peripheral squad player if he is retained He has so much ability, but is just a liability with his indiscipline, and its been like that since we signed him as a 16 year old.
Van Persie!!
Zlatan and Pogba
Juan Mata 100%
I loved that man
Based on my genuine excitement at the time, Cantona, Hargreaves, Rooney and Ronaldo pt2.
Easily Rooney
Jadon Sancho. It was the first time probably since Rooney we signed a big name young player. It’s easy in hindsight to criticize his work ethic and attitude but Sancho at 21 had 100+ G/A in 3 years. I truly thought he would be the best English forward of his generation. It’s a shame how it turned out.
Yes x
Bar Ronaldo? Lol. Absolutely atrocious and brainless transfer move. Not only we doomed our season, but missed an opportunity to send a perfect Trojan horse to a City, making the league much more interesting.
