It's one of the basic things you learn as a keeper as well, when controlling a back pass don't try to put your foot on top of the ball. Especially when you aren't watching the ball, it's very easy to mistime it, as he did.
thank goodness it's just a loan. I'll take:
1) Sommer (he'll be cheap cos his contract is expiring)
2) Diogo Costa (yes, despite the shaky world cup.. he's 23yo)
3) Bounou maybe (Not flavour of the week.. he's legit. Won La Liga's best keeper last season)
Yeah, that's always seemed to be his style about his own actions. He's always been amped to celebrate others, but has seemed humble and grounded about his own goals/assists.
The commentary team must be thankful for being able to witness in person the greatest team performance of the decade from Burnley. They can't get enough of them. It's fucking odd
It's nice to see Garnacho do well to get into those scoring positions. He had a few good opportunities and he's always trying to get himself open, even if they didn't work out today.
Giving me serious Rooney vibes at the same age. Watching him turn on the ball, link up well with those around him. Always looking to progress and find the angles.
Both are playing possession focused but we are much better at breaking through on the counter, that's why it looks like we play counter attack when we aren't I guess
If one team have possession then playing counter attacking football is the best possible outcome. We've actually had more of the ball, shots, shots on target etc. It's the difference between keeping the ball and looking to do something with it.
Nervy first 5 but we've settled down really nicely, looking off the pace overall but good fluidity to the attack already.
Very clear we're missing full match sharpness and especially team cohesion
Wan-Bissaka looks great. Dubravka has been out of sorts lol. If Casemiro is on the pitch, he's very often the best player on it!
We let them back into the game though, hopefully we kick it up a gear in the second half. We have to smash them, can't have City man Kompany's head getting any bigger lol.
Good half from the team, hope AWB can gain confidence from this half.
I don't remember Garnacho ever passing the ball to the fullback on the overlap - Malacia or Shaw. He should start doing that to be more unpredictable. That Rashford - Shaw combo was so good with underlaps and overlaps.
Bruno’s lack of trust in Garnacho (after he messed up the two chances) has killed a couple of moves for us. Put Marcus on the right, Mr. Ten Hag, please!!!
Edit: ON THE LEFT, FFS
AWB motm so far, always rated the guy, struggled to see why people and eth wanted him gone?
Bruno been good as well, looking solid so far as it should be
It’s not much of an opinion these days. AWB is simply not United caliber. City have cancelo, Chelsea have Reece James, liverpool have Trent, and we have…AWB? Dalot has been excellent
Casemiro's first few games with us were shaky, but I can't imagine our team without him now. For all the criticism about his passing and technique, he's been nothing but saucy in the last few months for us with his vertical passing, ball retention, and playing out of pressure. Some of his long balls out of defence today to find Eriksen / Bruno were gorgeous as well! Still can't believe this machine is playing for us 🥶
If this is the level of our back up wingbacks on a regular basis, I’m a happy man. If Iqbal breaks through next half of a season, midfield will look better as well regarding squad depth.
Dubravka shaky as hell
I almost died when he couldnt control that pass back

Is it a loan?
Yeah, don't know if there is an obligation but didn't read anything saying we have one
There is, but only if he plays a certain amount of PL games (and that ain't happening)
~knock on wood~
Yes
You are insane if you think bono would agree to being a backup keeper with us.
Who said anything about him being a back up? I think ten hag is most likely looking to replace de gea quite soon.
Shout out to AWB for that assist and the first half performance overall.
Feel bad though, he didn't even really celebrate at all
I feel like even under Ole he didn't celebrate. Seems like he doesnt get too high or too low.
Yeah, that's always seemed to be his style about his own actions. He's always been amped to celebrate others, but has seemed humble and grounded about his own goals/assists.
I do both. It's not good for me.
40m please
Dubravka isn't getting his loan made permanent is he
Bro might be getting his contract terminated at HT
😂😂😂
My highlight was the Martial slide tackle. It occurred to me I'm not sure I've ever seen that before.
That was a thing o beauty, you always hear of the 'classic strikers challenge's but that was up there with vintage SpiderWan
The commentary team must be thankful for being able to witness in person the greatest team performance of the decade from Burnley. They can't get enough of them. It's fucking odd
I don't think I've ever heard a set of commentators that so clearly want us to lose
After 2 minutes the co-commentator said about what a good start it was from Burnley. I think they'd touched the ball 3 times at that point.
Fair play AWB for giving it a go. Can't fault his effort this game.
Yeah maybe a certain Dutchman can take inspiration
Who who? I’m ootl
He's obv talking about VDS if he wants the ceo job
VDB hasn't impressed in his limited play time and hasn't put in enough effort either
Rashford's pace is something else. Playing with so much confidence. Link up is excellent. Casemiro an absolute rock!
So good to have club football back. WC is a nice novelty. But I just love watching United again.
Forget your Argentina vs France in the world Cup... A really boring midweek league cup game against Burnley is proper football
Rashford and his offside issues lol. Otherwise good from him, and the team in general.
It's nice to see Garnacho do well to get into those scoring positions. He had a few good opportunities and he's always trying to get himself open, even if they didn't work out today.
He always keeps trying which I like. It’s so easy to go hiding when things don’t go your way when you’re that young.
Giving me serious Rooney vibes at the same age. Watching him turn on the ball, link up well with those around him. Always looking to progress and find the angles.
Rooney at the same age scored 17 goals and had 5 assists.
Not sure what your point is?
Love it as well. Always in the right position even if he does not get the pass. Lethal!
Dubravka making me watch game behind the sofa.

Both are playing possession focused but we are much better at breaking through on the counter, that's why it looks like we play counter attack when we aren't I guess
That may be generally true in league play for both teams but we have a majority of the ball today lol. So weird time to say that
If one team have possession then playing counter attacking football is the best possible outcome. We've actually had more of the ball, shots, shots on target etc. It's the difference between keeping the ball and looking to do something with it.
Burnley have had more time to play since they started early? This is our first competitive game since the WC ended
Yeah, near the end of the first half i think our posession was 54%. Just lazy commentators.
Take Dubravka off tbh. Clearly not match sharp and we can’t risk penalties
Burnleyball 2.0 is kind of spicy, I must admit
Their keeper looks like he's between 12 and 35 years old
Nervy first 5 but we've settled down really nicely, looking off the pace overall but good fluidity to the attack already. Very clear we're missing full match sharpness and especially team cohesion

This has been the football match ever.
definitely up there with the matches of all time
Good half from the team, hope AWB can gain confidence from this half. I don't remember Garnacho ever passing the ball to the fullback on the overlap - Malacia or Shaw. He should start doing that to be more unpredictable. That Rashford - Shaw combo was so good with underlaps and overlaps.
Apart from Dubravka and Scott, rest of 'em have played good.
Let’s grab a second. Burnley haven’t threatened other than when Dubravka fucked up but one moment and the game goes to pens.
The commentary on sky making me feel like we are playing prime Barcelona.
God I love watching Casemiro play
Bruno’s lack of trust in Garnacho (after he messed up the two chances) has killed a couple of moves for us. Put Marcus on the right, Mr. Ten Hag, please!!! Edit: ON THE LEFT, FFS
I’m out but I just saw that AWB assisted? Nearly spat my drink out
Probably the most boring commentary team to exist
AWB motm so far, always rated the guy, struggled to see why people and eth wanted him gone? Bruno been good as well, looking solid so far as it should be
Lmao the knee jerk never ends. He’s just not good enough for us. Inconsistent, loses his man backpost 24/7. Instant sell
Defiently dont agree with that, ive always fancies him Over Dalot but obviosuly now Dalot is better
It’s not much of an opinion these days. AWB is simply not United caliber. City have cancelo, Chelsea have Reece James, liverpool have Trent, and we have…AWB? Dalot has been excellent
As a backup im still rooting for him, but its just my opinion
I get wanting to keep him, but I don’t understand how you could struggle to see why people want awb gone
Again… how is Scott McTominay a United player? All he’s capable of doing is hiding or giving the ball away!
Dubravka 'kin hell, a step away from Taibi here.
Garnacho with 2 chances but looked indecisive.. i hope he can be more aggressive in the 2nd half, make the Burnley defenders work..
Missing DeGea. Where’s Heaton? AWB has been a surprise! The squad as a whole are doing better than I expected. Could be 3-0 United.
Martial has been up for it. Very good to see him so active in the match. I am concerned about the keeper. I think the pressure is getting to him.
He hasn't really had much game time
Casemiro's first few games with us were shaky, but I can't imagine our team without him now. For all the criticism about his passing and technique, he's been nothing but saucy in the last few months for us with his vertical passing, ball retention, and playing out of pressure. I was one of the few who criticized his signing back then. Thought he was another mercenary but I was wrong. He is class.
If this is the level of our back up wingbacks on a regular basis, I’m a happy man. If Iqbal breaks through next half of a season, midfield will look better as well regarding squad depth.
Playing much better than I thought.
Martial is on a mission
Man I’m in love with Emma Saunders
