And I always loved the way the old Fenway announcer would relish his name for his ABs: "the center fielder, Coco ... Crisssssssp"
Seriously , two 20 K games, 3 Cy youngās, he was legendary with us.
Sure, his legacy has been somewhat tainted with his late career steroid use, but he had a full hall of fame career with us before the steroid era.
Gotta be Carlton Fisk for me. My grandmother had a framed picture of him - cut out of the newspaper lol - on the hutch in her kitchen when I was a kid. She's the one who made me a Red Sox fan.
I get the sentiment. I think Yaz should take Y. We have to be strategic about this. Teddy for T or W? Jon Lester for J or L, but we need space for Jim Rice, etc.
Edit: now that I think about it, T & W is going to be a showdown between Wakefield and Williams.
Indirectly, but pretty much. When the PawSox needed a new stadium, the popular opinion was basically, "look what happened with Curt Schilling", even though that was a totally different situation. Just the association with baseball was enough.
FWIW, I blame Lucchino more than anyone.
Sucks that growing up I idled himā¦ my pitching motion, I blew my cheeks out, it was so much they called me Mini Schillā¦so for him to be a complete fuck now feels like I wasted my childhood.
Saw him in Pawtucket, would never have guessed he had another decade of major league pitching in his rotund frame.
I'm not often wrong about baseball, but when I am I am about as wrong as I can be.
C is tough! Clemens, Yaz, Tony C, Fisk, and Cy Young are all Iconic - I think I have to go with Yaz tho - before my time, but they made a song about how much they loved him - he's pure legend
Che-Hsuan Lin, not sure if he counts as C( cause in Chinese it's actually pronounced Lin Che Hsuan), anyway most people probably don't remember him or even know him, I choose him because he's the first ever Tainwanese to play for Red Sox, even though it's only one season, but he won the minor league all star game MVP once, hitting a two run Homer that game, he's still playing in my country now, also playing for the team I support too!( Fubon Guardians)
Conigliaro, Tony C. He was a legend around here: a local boy (Swampscott, I think), a "bonus baby" who had to stay on the roster all year - he was 19 - and ended up playing almost every day and hitting about .290 with power.
He was also very good-looking (or that's what the women all said, I wouldn't know āŗ) and something of a man-about-town/partier. He became a legend. He even cut a record in the Frankie Avalon/Bobby Vinton vein that sold fairly well around here.
For those who don't know, he took a fastball in the head during the incredible 1967 pennant drive. He didn't play for a year and a half, played two full years in 1969 and 1970, then his eyesight and health went downhill.
Clemens will probably win this informal poll, and Clemens deserves it in a lot of ways despite not being a real nice guy. Cy Young and Carlton Fisk are good choices. Yaz would be my other favorite. (I just noticed that Cy and Yaz will have to duke it out for the Y.) But for sheer charisma and for the drama surrounding his career, Tony C gets my vote.
Tony Conigliaro
This. Save Yaz for Y and use Tony C.
Tony C all day every day. My uncle gave me his book because I ate a ball to the eye in little league. Not old enough to have seen him play.
and Billie š„²
Any other answer is blasphemy
Coco crisp
Motherfucker punched out James Shields and then took on half the Rays!
For the name alone!
Coco was electric
ā”ļø
Always so fun to watch him in the outfield and on the basepaths

Crisssssssp"
The only answer!
I mean, Roger Clemens. When I was a kid he was everything.
Seriously , two 20 K games, 3 Cy youngās, he was legendary with us. Sure, his legacy has been somewhat tainted with his late career steroid use, but he had a full hall of fame career with us before the steroid era.
Same. I had the Starting Lineup of him on my dresser until we traded him to Toronto.
Carlton Fisk!!!
Fisk seems better for F
Umn, I think you forgot about Franchy Cordero.
No we didnāt
Although you may have forgotten your flair lol
Only answer. š
Joe Castiglione count as the radio broadcaster?
I was gonna say the same
Not a player, but his voice is so memorable and nostalgic that I canāt listen to the Sox without him
Tony C
2018 Chris Sale
Carl Yastrzemski, although I feel like he should be used for Y
You all have Youk as well
Yaz > Youk
Youk should to be Y
Yoooooouuuuuuuuukkkkk
Donāt sleep on Yoennis Cespedes
Clay Buckholtz!
Gotta be Carlton Fisk for me. My grandmother had a framed picture of him - cut out of the newspaper lol - on the hutch in her kitchen when I was a kid. She's the one who made me a Red Sox fan.
Carl Crawfords Crappy Contract. That enough Cs? :D
Christian Vasquez
Crazy Carl Everett, and if you don't vote for him you're letting the dinosaurs win
He deserves an honorable mention just for coining "Curly haired boyfriend"
Carl YastrzemskiĀ
Edit: deleted because we should save Yaz for Y
Youk
I get the sentiment. I think Yaz should take Y. We have to be strategic about this. Teddy for T or W? Jon Lester for J or L, but we need space for Jim Rice, etc. Edit: now that I think about it, T & W is going to be a showdown between Wakefield and Williams.
Bernie Carbo
Bernie to this day is a quality human.
Omg dude your profile pic!!!! Lmfao omega xlā¦. Order it, itās good for you!
Carl Yastrzemski is the only right answer. After that, Chris Sale and Christian Vazquez come to mind.
Curt Schillingās Sock. Not him, his sock
It's such a shame what a massive shitheel he ended up being
He killed the pawsox
Indirectly, but pretty much. When the PawSox needed a new stadium, the popular opinion was basically, "look what happened with Curt Schilling", even though that was a totally different situation. Just the association with baseball was enough. FWIW, I blame Lucchino more than anyone.
Bloodyheel, actually
Nice play on words.
Sucks that growing up I idled himā¦ my pitching motion, I blew my cheeks out, it was so much they called me Mini Schillā¦so for him to be a complete fuck now feels like I wasted my childhood.
Itās crazy how many people would have this response if he wasnāt a scumbag piece of shit
For āCā Iād like to nominate Jason Varitek. Wore a C on his jersey more prominently than any other Boston player
The only one to ever wear the "C".
Bartolo Colon
Saw him in Pawtucket, would never have guessed he had another decade of major league pitching in his rotund frame. I'm not often wrong about baseball, but when I am I am about as wrong as I can be.
Pedro Ciriaco
Lmao what a guy.. I RAKED with him in 2k12? Maybe
Carl Yastrzemski, specifically because he deserves to be there, but weāre gonna need Y for Yooouuuuuk
Custin Cedroia
Jose Canseco
Juiced!
Carlos Quintana I want to stuff him into the C slot to make the Q spot more interesting.
Q should be Curt Schilling
You know? Thatās good.
Tony Conigliaro
Alex Cora
Cody Ross for that awesome freak out on Alfonso Marquez he had
He was the only fun thing about 2012
Give me Chris Sale purely for getting Machado on his knees for the last out of the 2018 WS
Carlton Fisk
Cy Young. No contest.
Orlando Cabrera
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Lives in same town as I do, met his wife/kids at a bday party. My hope is to somehow cross paths with him one of these days
or Orlando Cepeda
Such a good answer
Carl Yaz!
I know theres more notable names but in the context of my life, Cristian Vazquez is who I think of
Clay Buchholz
Carl Crawford SIIIIKE!!!!
Tony conigliaro
Clemens. Save Fisk for F and Yaz for Y
Carney Lansford
It aināt Curt Schilling.
Roger Clemens and Carl Everett too. 'C' is a popular letter for once celebrated Red Sox turned pariahs.
The Curt Schilling that retired from the Sox would get a few votes. The asshole he revealed himself to be, not so much.
Dirt bag Curt is probably most memorable. Christian Vazquez probably my favorite from recent memory
Jurassic Carl Everett!
Tony C.
Craig kimbrel
Coco crisp
Coco Crisp was the first that came to my mind
Obviously, Mike Carp!
The one, the only, the legend ... Scott Cooper
That's two time all-star Scott Cooper
Trot Nixon!
Tony C feels like the answer
Captain Jason Varitek
I was just about to write this one!
Heh heh
Coco crisp
The clear answer is Bartolo Colon
Cesar Crespo
Was just talking about him last night with my dad Rusney Castillo
Coveli Crisp
CARLTON FISK
Carl Everett
Red Sox legend Craig grebeck
I remember Bill Simmons, back when he was just the āBoston Sports Guyā, would say Grebeck looked like the Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer.
Coco crisp! Lol no probably Clemens
Carlos Quintana but heās probably a better q option
Coco Crisp
Coco Crisp
C is tough! Clemens, Yaz, Tony C, Fisk, and Cy Young are all Iconic - I think I have to go with Yaz tho - before my time, but they made a song about how much they loved him - he's pure legend
Rafael āCaritaā Devers!
Yaz
First name that came to mind was Kutter Crawford just because heās a current player. Favorite would be Chris Sale, loved his slider.
Yaz
Carlton Fisk, weāll use Y for Yaz (sorry Youk).
Carlton Fisk.
Yaz
Christian Vasquez
Clay Buchholz
Yaz or Fisk
Carl Yastrzemski
Cooper Criswell obviously
Carl Yazstremski
Carl Everett breaking up Mike Brownās no hitter
Carl Everett
Tony Conigliaro
Che-Hsuan Lin, not sure if he counts as C( cause in Chinese it's actually pronounced Lin Che Hsuan), anyway most people probably don't remember him or even know him, I choose him because he's the first ever Tainwanese to play for Red Sox, even though it's only one season, but he won the minor league all star game MVP once, hitting a two run Homer that game, he's still playing in my country now, also playing for the team I support too!( Fubon Guardians)
Carl Crawford
Wild that Clemens does t have more votes. He was one of the best pitcher in baseball for like a decade with us
CASAS
Pedro
Conigliaro!
Carl Yastrzemski. Save the Y for the Greek God of Walks.
Triston "Ted Williams" Casas
Conigliaro
I'm old, so Tony C. After all, "C" is his entire last name!
Cecil Cooper. He hit the game winning HR in my first game attending Fenway. I was 9.
Sucks that things turned out the way they did, but 04 doesn't happen without Curt Schilling
Some stiff competition but I think it's gotta be Alex Cora
Coco Crisp
Conigliaro, Tony C. He was a legend around here: a local boy (Swampscott, I think), a "bonus baby" who had to stay on the roster all year - he was 19 - and ended up playing almost every day and hitting about .290 with power. (I just noticed that Cy and Yaz will have to duke it out for the Y.) But for sheer charisma and for the drama surrounding his career, Tony C gets my vote.
Creighton Gubanich
Clay Buchholz is the first one that comes to mind. But I'd probably have to go with Clemens.
Rusney Castillo is the answer
Tony Conigliaro!
Chris Sale
When I was kid I met Carlos Quintana. He was briefly my favorite player because he was nice. He didn't stay in baseball too long
Coco Crisp. Best of both worlds.
I loved it when you werenāt CHEAP. Thereās something that starts with a c.
Easy one for meā¦Carl Yastrzemski! Not easy to spell but an easy choice! Second would be Roger Clemons!
Does the Captian count?
Joe Kelly!
Definitely Clemens.
Conigliaro T
Nomah Carciapara
Chris Sale
Coco Crisp!
Chris Sale
Carlton Fisk.
Coco Crisp. Also if this counts Captain Jason Varatek
Carl Somebody, I forget.

Since I haven't seen it yet, Joe Cronin
Sign Citgo
Cedroia
Carl Everett
Tony C. all the way.
connor wong
Clay Buchholz
Cy Young!
Tony Conigliaro and Carlton Fisk
Chris Sale
Curt Schilling, just because I attended his final major league game, game 2 of the 2007 World Series, when I was still in high school.
Joe Castiglione
Iām gonna go with Coco Crisp, just for the double āCā. Otherwise, Iād go with Roger Clemens.
Carlton Fisk, no doubt. Chris Sale will always be my favorite though.
Triston Casas
Carl Yastrzemski
JosƩ Canseco
Roger Clemens
