Crafters are solid blocks so this would power the neighboring modules when tiled, you can fix this by pushing it out a block and moving the torch to the side instead of ontop.

Is there a red stone torch under the crafter?
It's a lot like my fav design except I have a barrel under the crafter, mine the comparators one further out and chain two observers from the redstone. The comparator reads the copper block and powers the barrel which activates the crafter.
I think the delay would be the same as the extra observer and red stone torch would add the same.
