Ty, I only remembered at least one of those was also the Chrysler Concorde? I think. Haven't thought about much about any of these in the last probably 15 years š
The Chrysler Cloud cars were the Dodge Stratus, Plymouth Breeze, and Chrysler Cirrus. The LH cars were the Dodge Intrepid, Chrysler New Yorker, Chrysler LHS, Chrysler Concorde, Chrysler 300, and the Eagle Vision.
The Stratus got a second generation and the Cirrus was replaced with the Sebring which became the 200. The Breeze went away as did the entire Plymouth division.
The Intrepid got a second generation and was replaced with the Charger. The New Yorker name plate was dropped pretty early, but the LHS and Concorde survived into the second generation of the LH cars. Eventually the LHS was dropped while the Concorde continued. The Eagle Vision was supposed to get a second generation as well, but when Eagle was dropped, they put some Chrysler badges on it and it turned into the 300M.
The Eagle Vision was a decent car. My mom drove a 1994 TSi for a few years and really liked it. Of course, reliability was an issue over the long-term.
The 300M was a fun car to be a passenger in. It was the first time I ever went over 100 miles an hour. I was standing up through the sunroof high as balls on mushrooms while my friend drove. I get why dogs hang out the window now. Good times.
I had a Chrysler Cirrus in high school. It was somehow the biggest piece of shit but that motor just refused to die. I put that car through hell and it took it for 5 years
There is one at my mechanicās place constantly getting fixed. Old lady car with like 50k miles that she gave to her grandson. Even as nice as it is itās still a POS.
I see tons of Concordes/Intrepids on the road. My neighbor has had one for 15+ years now. Not sure whether it's a 2.7l or 3.2l. My guess is 3.2 lol.
For context, I live in Minnesota.
Yes, I actually completely forgot about both of those. The only reason I don't include the Neon whenever I see this is because I own one, so can't forget about it myself. Almost everything except the ram, viper, and durango, and the vans would fit. I just realized I haven't seen a caliber in awhile either.
This is a good one. The first and second gen interpreds were EVERYWHERE back in the day, but you donāt see any of themāor really any LH platform Chrysler, for that matterāon the road anymore.
omg my family used to have a dodge stratus and I forgot they even existed
even though any car my family had i look out for on the road and makes me feel happy and nostalgic for a few seconds, I look out for them. I even see the ford windstar sometimes. but I havenāt seen a stratus in forever in my area
Thereās a dude up the street from me that has three Metros.
It always tickles me a little bit when I walk by and see them because theyāre so rare these days and it takes me back to the shitty one my sister drove for a while.
Now that I think about it Iāve seen 1 metro and maybe 2 chevettes in the town I live inā¦.i do remember seeing a chevette at a stop sign and the lady driving it was cursing at the chevette!!! lol she was
upset because the engine died on her and she was trying to get the engine startedā¦.lol she was forcing the poor chevette to started up so she could drive awayā¦.lol
I had a 1994 Geo Metro. By far the worst POS I ever owned. Everything on that car broke. Nothing worked. Every dollar I saved on gas just went right back in to keeping the car on the road.
Iāll admit it my mom had a brand new 1977-78 chevette and drove that poor chevette like a boss and that poor chevette got a beating from my mom and eventually after a year of driving the chevette. That poor chevette started breaking down and acting up and eventually started stalling and dying out on the freeways and what have youā¦lol within 4 years my mom hadā¦had enough of getting stalled on the freeways and roads my dad bought her a brand new Subaru and that car was great. My mom kept the chevette for my older sister to learn how to drive. That poor chevette was beaten into the ground and then some but wouldnāt die on usā¦lol
There were tons of ford escorts and chevettes on the street I grew out onā¦.and one day I swear 2 dads I knew that lived near my parents house decided to drag race on our street back in the day and it was so hilariously funny and comicalā¦.so they line up and one of the kids stands between the 2 cars and yells goā¦lol the chevette let out a loud bang sound and the ford escorts dumped coolant on the roadā¦lol the chevette was never the sameā¦the carburetor on the chevette caught on fire and the muffler blow up and there was a hole on the side of the mufflerā¦.lol after that the chevette wouldnāt start up and us kids pushed the chevette to the dads house and his wife was so upsetā¦.all I remember for 3 days after thatā¦.the dad tried to fix the chevette a lot of cursing at the chevette and cranking and pedal pumping on the chevetteā¦.lol
Idk, i dated two different women in two different states ( ME and VA) that owned the same Saturn ( both lived feet away from the ocean) and them things ran flawlessly forever in both cases.
It sucks because I actually think it could've been a good SUV but it was up against the Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade and the Mercedes Benz G Class.
My buddy had an Aspen and I was like I thought it was a Chrysler though? And sure enough they made a Chrysler Aspen which I feel like fits the question lol I have seen one in years.
A buddy of mine in college had one. It was his pride and joy that he spent a lot of time keeping in top shape. Thought it was the dumbest thing ever at a time but after I turned into a "car guy" as an adult, I had to reach out to him to see if he still had it. It's his mom's weekend runaround car now.
I had a Ford Aerostar cargo van. It was a piece of shit but so handy for hauling stuff. Thereās a lady in my neighborhood with one and it has a homemade wooden back bumper..
That Gen had an issue with the trans that probably took most of them out of commision. I still occasionally see them here in NJ in a sea of Gen 2 and 3 Priuses though.
My first car. It was the ugliest shade of electric blue but I drove it till the transmission started going and I had to shift through 1st and 2nd before I could put it in drive from a dead stop
i used to see hardbodies all the time growing up down in appalachia but then when i moved to new england and then later bought a d21 of my own i had the disappointment of realizing theyāre all rusted and gone up here and all the closest parts cars were in virginia and north carolina. you still can see several daily in the area i grew up, but other than mine iāve seen maybe three others regularly in my area up in the land of rust
90s Jeep Grand Cherokee. my dad had a 97 so I always notice them when I see them, and I can't remember the last time I did. we also had an 07 and I don't see many that look like that anymore either. we lived in Colorado at the time though, where jeeps are pretty popular.
Most of them left by 08/09 got crushed for $Cash$ for Clunkers. I own a ZJ that somehow has survived 28 years, and itās seldom driven, itās a fun weekend cruiser. Itās too nice to bomb trails or drive during winter. Thatās a reason why you donāt see many 80/90s survivors, theyāre not daily drivers anymore!
Ford Probe
Mercury Cougar
Plymouth Prowler
Chevy Caprice
Haven't noticed any of these since at least 2005
Honorable mention: Volvo 850 (my first car and it died in 2016)
Ford Aerostar
Dodge Aries/Plymouth Reliant
Mercury Topaz
Buick Skylark/Olds Achieva
Toyota Paseo
Mazda 626
Dodge Shadow (I havenāt seen one since my aunt traded hers in for a Ford Focus way back in 2000)
Ford Contour/Mercury Mystique
In the early 2000s my friendās big sister got her first car and I remember it was a burgundy Dodge Monaco. I think it was the only one Iāve ever seen.
funny enough I just test drove one and it was pretty good albeit very rusty so I didn't grab it. Great clutch great throttle response and the brakes are pretty decent. I mean the interior does have the build quality of a bucket of Legos falling down the stairs but still
Can count the number of times I've seen a first gen Ford Explorer on the road on one finger. Other than mine, lol. More than I like to think about were crushed in 2008.
Second Generation Oldsmobile Silhouette. The first gen is one of those iconic slant front vans from the late 80s/early 90s, but the second gen looks totally generic and I donāt think Iāve ever in my life seen one.
Another contender for most obscure minivan would be the Buick Terraza, along with its badge-engineered compatriots, the Chevy Uplander and Saturn Relay.
Also notable is the Opel/Vauxhall Sintra, another badge engineering job based on the same platform as the gen 2 silhouette, but despite being made in America, were only sold in Europe.
1995 Geo Metro hatchback. Literally saw one a week ago coming home from work at 8am. It was mint, clean black plastic bumpers, and custom wheels only. that should not exist
I actually saw a pinto today. so interesting to me that such a plain car would still be on the road 50 years later. imagine a Ford focus now making it into the 2070s lol
Cars I've owned
Merkur xr4ti
79 Ford Fiesta

I'm a walking advertisement for cars you never see anymore
For some reason I donāt see the sixth (2004 to 2008) and the seventh (2009 to 2014) generation maximas the same way you see the altimas. Really I feel like I havenāt see the 6th gen in years. And once the newer gen maximas came out all older genās were traded in.
I loved the look of them but unsure about the quality.
First generation Honda Odyssey. You know, without the sliding doors and the huge quarter window in the A-pillar...
Edit: Ok I literally just saw my first one today
My family was talking and my parents used to have a Chevy Corsica and he realized in real time that the last time he saw one on the road was when they owned one back in 2003
The circa 1993 Chevy Lumina minivan along with the Oldsmobile and Pontiac equivalents, until I saw one at the VA hospital yesterday.
Memories - my parents had a 93 Lumina and then one of them after the redesign that softened the front end.
Dodge Stratus/Intrepid and both their Chrysler and Plymouth equivalents.
Chrysler cirrus and Plymouth Breeze.
Ty, I only remembered at least one of those was also the Chrysler Concorde? I think. Haven't thought about much about any of these in the last probably 15 years š

there are still 34 Sebrings on the road

A lot of folks act like these are all gone but I see them pretty regularly. I see far more of them than dodge darts š
I see tons of Concordes/Intrepids on the road. My neighbor has had one for 15+ years now. Not sure whether it's a 2.7l or 3.2l. My guess is 3.2 lol. For context, I live in Minnesota.
Anybody else only able to hear the words āDodge Stratusā in Will Ferrellās voice?
I drive a Dodge Stratus!
Does the Sebring and original 300 fit here too? Totally forgot about those "streamlined" Dodge/Chrysler autos.
Yes, I actually completely forgot about both of those. The only reason I don't include the Neon whenever I see this is because I own one, so can't forget about it myself. Almost everything except the ram, viper, and durango, and the vans would fit. I just realized I haven't seen a caliber in awhile either.
I transported a trade-in Sebring with 60k miles on it some weeks ago for Carvana.
These like disappeared all at once 5 ish years ago.
This is a good one. The first and second gen interpreds were EVERYWHERE back in the day, but you donāt see any of themāor really any LH platform Chrysler, for that matterāon the road anymore.

Geo metro, Chevy chevette and ford escortā¦
Thereās a dude up the street from me that has three Metros. It always tickles me a little bit when I walk by and see them because theyāre so rare these days and it takes me back to the shitty one my sister drove for a while.
I want to see pics of the Metros, honestly.
Now that I think about it Iāve seen 1 metro and maybe 2 chevettes in the town I live inā¦.i do remember seeing a chevette at a stop sign and the lady driving it was cursing at the chevette!!! lol she was upset because the engine died on her and she was trying to get the engine startedā¦.lol she was forcing the poor chevette to started up so she could drive awayā¦.lol
Wow!!!! 3 metros jeez!!! LoL
You need the parts from 2 Metros to keep 1 running.
I work with a guy who owns a convertible metro and drives it work when the weather is nice. Datacenter people are weird.
I had a 1994 Geo Metro. By far the worst POS I ever owned. Everything on that car broke. Nothing worked. Every dollar I saved on gas just went right back in to keeping the car on the road.
Geo Tracker
Suzuki Sidekicks!
one of my junk hoarding neighbors has a metro packed to the brim with shit inside of it lol
A friend of mine has a 1979 Chevette with around 38,000 miles. Amazing condition, still on the original tires.
Metro is a meme, you can't forget it.
My neighbor actually has both the chevette and the escort, he still dailys the escort too
There were tons of ford escorts and chevettes on the street I grew out onā¦.and one day I swear 2 dads I knew that lived near my parents house decided to drag race on our street back in the day and it was so hilariously funny and comicalā¦.so they line up and one of the kids stands between the 2 cars and yells goā¦lol the chevette let out a loud bang sound and the ford escorts dumped coolant on the roadā¦lol the chevette was never the sameā¦the carburetor on the chevette caught on fire and the muffler blow up and there was a hole on the side of the mufflerā¦.lol after that the chevette wouldnāt start up and us kids pushed the chevette to the dads house and his wife was so upsetā¦.all I remember for 3 days after thatā¦.the dad tried to fix the chevette a lot of cursing at the chevette and cranking and pedal pumping on the chevetteā¦.lol
I still see at least 1 Metro a week where I live
Just about any Saturn.
I see the Vue fairly often but other than that literally nothing
Upstate rural New York see quite a few sedans.
I see a surprising number of them, but I live in the PNW where everything refuses to die
Unless you live near the coast.
Idk, i dated two different women in two different states ( ME and VA) that owned the same Saturn ( both lived feet away from the ocean) and them things ran flawlessly forever in both cases.
The OTHER rust belt
Honda J32 powah. My gf in highschool had one was surprised when I saw my buddies Acura CL engine under the hood of her car.
Even in the Northeast where everything rusts I still see SLs, SWs, Ions and Skys regularly
Surprisingly saw like 5 in the last couple days in Nova Scotia. Vues and Ions.
Saturns are bizarrely overrepresented in Nova Scotia.
Which is pretty damn weird, considering how quickly cars dissolve here. Did Saturn have that great of a rust protection?
They had plastic body panels.
But the structural components are still metal. And that's usually the problem, not the actual body panels. It probably did help though, still.
Just all plastic
I was driving a top trim L300 wagon until 3 months ago š gave it to the homies little brother for $100
Dodge Aspen. It's unreliable, a bit ugly, and it's just a fancy Durango. They are also a bit rare to see nowadays for good reason.
I didnāt know a Chrysler aspen existed until I saw one drive up my block a few months ago. Wild.
It's definitely a sight to see lol, my friend thought it was a new Durango but when I told him what it was, he was confusedš
I was always confused as to why Chrysler never made a luxury SUV when it probably could have had a solid market. But reading about it makes sense.
They did, the Pacifica.
They came a horrid time too, which didnāt help. The economy crashed and gas prices soared. No one wanted a massive SUV atm
It sucks because I actually think it could've been a good SUV but it was up against the Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade and the Mercedes Benz G Class.
My wife & I saw a blue Chrysler Aspen last weekend. I was excited to see it, lol.
All Aspens are clapped out. That's kind of a rule.
I used to work with someone who had one. Don't recall seeing one since, and that was about 5 years ago.
My buddy had an Aspen and I was like I thought it was a Chrysler though? And sure enough they made a Chrysler Aspen which I feel like fits the question lol I have seen one in years.
The Daewoos
There was a final window of ~5 years where used Daewoos that still ran could be had for like $3,500.
This lmao
you've clearly never been to central europe
Pontiac Sunbird. My dad had one until 2010. I don't think I've seen one since. I can barely even remember what they look like.
I last saw one about an hour ago... because I own it.
My driverās ed school had Pontiac Sunfires back in the day. I was too tall for them and my knee would change the radio stations.
Honda Del Sol, I used to see them everywhere but not anymore
I would like to have a nice one, but they are all rust buckets in my area.
They looked mid enginedā¦.but werenāt
A buddy of mine in college had one. It was his pride and joy that he spent a lot of time keeping in top shape.
