My first car in 2006 was a 1994 Nissan Sentra with the paint coming off and a weird stain on the back seat. It looked like plastic had melted or something.
Either you're getting help financially fixing it or won't have it long once the first repair bill comes. I don't know why, but I've always liked the look of this gen. I almost bought one a couple of years ago because there were several in my area that were cheap, but then I remembered it would be a cheap MB so it wouldn't stay cheap đ
Thankfully my brother in law has a garage he lets me use , and there is w203 near me thats missing an engine and the owner is willing to sell parts from it for cheap , for now i polished the headlights , changed the glow plugs and some interior pieces by myself , did scratch it decently tho so i gotta figure that out too lol
More practical, not that heavier and more stylish. Sedan looks more like base model npc. With some nice wheels, a wagon can look amazing. But I do prefer the w211 e class wagon.
Not the best period from MB, and especially not in their compact. Now, it gets interesting:
If it's a 6MT, you're a bit offbeat and got lucky (very few had a 6MT in the US)
If it's a 5AT (7AT if it's a post-facelift model) you don't get any brownie points.
Regardless you are either:
* Looking for a cheap MB, but you didn't account for specialized servicing (but they do generally treat you pretty well if you treat them well)
* Maybe trying to improve your crash resilience on a budget (but you failed to account for age-related rust compromising the crash structure...another issue in the bad era of MB)
* Not as fun and exciting as the guy who chose an old BMW 3er.
Botta put 5,000 into maintenance cause why not. Gonna constantly top off your oil. A nice conversatoo up on started at best maybe compared to those *ugh* Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans, fords and chevys in the school parking lot, hate those poor people. /joking
For a first car, an older Mercedes is actually not bad. Could be an old 70s yellow camaro with nice black pinstripes with the drawback that it runs like shit and throws out smoke when it starts.
THIS.
Grandpas drive big body, big engine, big money sedans.
This is a high schoolers first car.
Youâre gonna be catching rides while yours is on a lift/jack stands.
When it is in running condition, be careful.
Thatâs a pretty nice ride for a first car. What engine is in that W203? These are luxe feeling but tend to lack some oomph⊠which is also good for a first car.
Oh nice, a diesel. As a young person you will appreciate the fuel efficiency and should be pretty reliable but make sure you take care of regular maintenance. Enjoy and welcome to the Benz owners club!
The engine is reliable, but that car is before the facelift, right? Yeah, check for rust and I hope the car has the fewest option of electronics available, so you don't get fucked up, if they start malfunctioning. Also, they are some potential issues with the ECU, that can be prevented by relocating it, I think. Basically, there are kits, that will help you to remove some of the issues, that were presented in the pre-facelift model.
I inherited a Cadillac from my Grandpa and drove it for a few years. Made me realize that Grandpa cars are underrated. Thing's seats felt like a couch and it rode so smooth that I could drive it hundreds of miles without getting road weary. Honestly kind of regret trading it in, even if it was getting up there in miles and having some problems.
So I'd say you're pretty lucky, enjoy the car. Just be ready for a blow to your wallet when repairs come up...
My mom had one, the rearview mirror fell off, the interior door pulls would break off, power rear sunshade got stuck, wood trim chipped away, gear shifter plastic chipping away, and then this constant plastic squeak throughout the cabin. This is only when it was a few years old too. Seats were great tho, leather quality and design. Plus paint was very good.
Aw sad. Those hubcaps kick ass. The yilduz rims are still pretty cool. If you couldn't tell, im a connoisseur of ugly and wierd parts/vehicles. Not saying your vehicle is inherently ugly, just saying it's not as publicly desirable as other vehicles. I'm happy for you man. Getting a new car is cool. I'm super excited to get my first truck.
Grandpa ain't driving the smallest Mercedes they make. This is some rich girls first car. Where do you think all the used c classes and 3 series come from?
If you didn't mentioned that you were 16, I would have bet some bucks that it was the 122hp diesel variant lol. Nvm, read further down the comments. It really is a diesel lol
I remember when i was a child and this bad boy was the newest addition on the streets. I used to be mesmerized looking at this thing and being in awe, especially the black or red colors. Ive always wanted to own one of those maybe when i get a little older i will.
Not a grandpa car for me, I think it's one of those models that represent that era when Mercedes wanted to modernize their models starting from mid-1995 to mid-2000s and they really achieved that.
It shows you couldnât hardly turn a knob let alone a wrench. Youâll get stuck in a ditch, or your driveway, or in the bathroom watching porn on your phone.
At least the CDI run longer. But it still has A MB attached to it. Change the Trans fluid. Keep it out of the sun and be religious about maintenance intervals. Read up on what goes wrong with this model. Then change those parts if original. Oh timing belt if it has one. If itâs a chain then chain guides. Those are lots of fun ie $$$$
You start your morning off with a balanced breakfast of Raisin bran and coffee
I'm the healthy guy in the household , for everyone else its a cigarette and coffee
So everyone else drives a Ford Bronco?
nah fiats from the 1970's
That you have a nice looking first car and are very lucky. My first car I had one pair of vise grips for all 4 windows đ€Ł
My first car in 2006 was a 1994 Nissan Sentra with the paint coming off and a weird stain on the back seat. It looked like plastic had melted or something.
My first car WAS a pair of Vice Grips!
You will study BWL in Mannheim and still live in Heidelberg, being a commuter
lucky honestly
Considered as trashy in Germany
I had a C230. Wasnât crazy about it but Id rather an old C class over many new cars.
Eastern European
Gipsy king?

Exceptionally lucky
It was either this or a bmw 3 series. Gotta flex on the other high schoolers.
At 16?? Im 21 and I want one so bad, but a wagon c220 cdi, but theyre so expensive here in Portugal
why a wagon? never understood the hype behind them , maybe its cuz where i live people arent really fond of them
More practical, not that heavier and more stylish. Sedan looks more like base model npc. With some nice wheels, a wagon can look amazing. But I do prefer the w211 e class wagon.
Cuz, at least in Eastern Europe, they are cheaper than the Sedan and have better practically.

I briefly had an â06 330 xi that ripped decently with that in-line 6. Paid $5k and had it totaled out for $8k nine months later.
Botta put 5,000 into maintenance cause why not. Gonna constantly top off your oil. A nice conversatoo up on started at best maybe compared to those *ugh* Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans, fords and chevys in the school parking lot, hate those poor people. /joking

The upside to that is Megan Fox will fix it for you.
Or ill wake up to a concept car thats not even on the market
HonestlyâŠIâd rather have Megan Fox.
Either you got it in grandmas will, or was handed down. Either way, you must be the most popular kid in your Serbian village.
It was handed down.... I'm from Montenegro lol so pretty close
Lucky for your 1st car.
You don't follow stigmas, are a safe driver and prefer comfort.
You'll have a different car by the time your 18
Beautiful until it breaks and then painful from both parts and labor
you might be my dad cuz he has a w203 too, its got a supercharged gasoline engine tho
âAlles klar, Herr Kommissar?"
You have no idea how much German cars cost to maintain.
Sir grandpas drive AMG
THIS. Grandpas drive big body, big engine, big money sedans. This is a high schoolers first car. Youâre gonna be catching rides while yours is on a lift/jack stands. When it is in running condition, be careful.
Also op telling the world his age with trying to use that âgrandpa-mobileâ line tells more about him than his actual car does
That you canât park apparently
the pic is from google , mine is currently being repaired lol
Thatâs a pretty nice ride for a first car. What engine is in that W203? These are luxe feeling but tend to lack some oomph⊠which is also good for a first car.
om611 , drives like an elephant , but its pretty reliable but is slow indeed
Oh nice, a diesel. As a young person you will appreciate the fuel efficiency and should be pretty reliable but make sure you take care of regular maintenance. Enjoy and welcome to the Benz owners club!

Listen too this guy he knows about these cars!
If the upholstery is leather and not black ur gonna be in comfort. If it's in black or not in leather, you'll feel miserable
You have a shag haircut and wear Abercrombie & Fitch.
That's actually a really good first car. It was also my dream car when I was 7 because my Grandma had one.
That i also want one
You have a rolling book bag
Your parents want to see your 17th birthday party.
my bro has a similar one, c200 kompressor sportcoupé
I inherited a Cadillac from my Grandpa and drove it for a few years. Made me realize that Grandpa cars are underrated. Thing's seats felt like a couch and it rode so smooth that I could drive it hundreds of miles without getting road weary. That you wished it said C32 on the back
My mom had one, the rearview mirror fell off, the interior door pulls would break off, power rear sunshade got stuck, wood trim chipped away, gear shifter plastic chipping away, and then this constant plastic squeak throughout the cabin. This is only when it was a few years old too. Seats were great tho, leather quality and design. Plus paint was very good.
You enjoy nice hubcaps holy shit those are cool. They have absolutely no right to be as cool as they are
The pic is from the internet since my car is in the garage rn , its exactly the same apart from the hubcaps , mine has a pair of yilduz rims on it
You enjoy pissing on your money
you're from Europe
:that your grandpa gave you his car, which tells me you can be trusted.
That your not very appreciative of your first car .
I mean, they are a grandma/grandpa car, but definitely nicer than most things, that people get for a first car, so the guy is probably fine.
It tells me you got Grandma's car when she had to surrender her license. But it looks like she took care of it, at least.
Youâre either European or make poor financial decisions.
Eastern European (I had an E38 740i im in the same boat)
I hope your parents are paying for the maintenance and repairs.
I bought an 05 C230k the week after I turned 15. Nice to see other people starting out with these!
All the grandpas I know can at least afford an E
Truth.
You enjoy overpriced car repairs.
Sorry. Nice car bro. Didnât realize this wasnât roast my car đ
I remember when i was a child and this bad boy was the newest addition on the streets. I used to be mesmerized looking at this thing and being in awe, especially the black or red colors. Ive always wanted to own one of those maybe when i get a little older i will.
You have classy parents/grandparents. Luxury sedans rule
europoor
Not a grandpa car for me, I think it's one of those models that represent that era when Mercedes wanted to modernize their models starting from mid-1995 to mid-2000s and they really achieved that.
You have a blank check for a metric shit ton of repairs
If itâs got the 500 or 550 engine, itâs fun as hell. If itâs got a 240 or 320 engine, fuck you.
If it runs well enough and is in decent shape, you'll be happy to drive absolutely anything.
Be nice to Grandpa!
Sick af
It shows you couldnât hardly turn a knob let alone a wrench. Youâll get stuck in a ditch, or your driveway, or in the bathroom watching porn on your phone.
You live in a place with no winter, as those w203 tend to have rust problems
At least the CDI run longer. But it still has A MB attached to it. Change the Trans fluid. Keep it out of the sun and be religious about maintenance intervals. Read up on what goes wrong with this model. Then change those parts if original. Oh timing belt if it has one. If itâs a chain then chain guides. Those are lots of fun ie $$$$
This is not a grandpa car. My first car had whitewalls and skirted rear wheels. In the late 90s.
Tells me you're a lot more mature than i was at 16
I don't care if it has the Mercedes badge on it, it's still a base model
Luxurious base model though.
You grew up well off. No shame in that.
