EASILY the Autozam. They look like mini fighter jets and I have wanted one forever. I don't know if my 6' 0" self will fit in it, but I'd rather have an Autozam I can fit in than legs.
The S660 is surprisingly roomy, I drove one on vacation in Japan and I’m 6’4”, I still had a bit of headspace. I would assume that the AZ-1 isn’t so different
Yeah I’d take the s660 over the autozam. Mainly just because modern is better in this case. The autozam may be more iconic, but that doesn’t really do much for anyone except teenage boys.
lol I’m 6 foot and I fit in the back of an 89’ Cavalier convertible with 3 other teenagers somehow. I tell my kids that story now when they’re complaining about not having enough room in my Corolla, which I’ve also rode in the back seat of.
We used to smuggle people in trunks of cars to get into hillclimb (atv&bikes) events. Once you got through the gate and parked away from the entrance you’d let everyone out and hope nobody noticed you “lost” your wristband. Lmao.
Yeah Corollas aren't a problem. I remember on family trips (before I got my license) our family had a Prius and since I was the youngest (despite being the tallest by like 7 inches) I was relegated to the middle seat. Ducking my head for 2 hours in the way to Grandma's house for Christmas for fear of slamming my head into that tin can's roof if I didn't was not a pleasant experience. Once I got my license I insisted upon driving everywhere.
I’ve never ridden in a Prius lol, but I can sit in the back seat with an inch or 2 of clearance in my Corolla. It is an older one though so it’s a lot smaller than the last few generations.
The leg room isn’t great in back but the seat itself is pretty big. My biggest kid is 4’9” though so they have no reason to be complaining lol. There is a whole lot more room back there than I had in that cavalier that technically only had 2 seats in back and was encroached by the arms for the roof.
Lol my dad is a very tall car guy, he only buys convertibles. His 911 turbo was so little you could see the bump of the top of his head pushing against the roof material! 😂
I sat in an NA Miata and I remember barely fitting. Seeing as how it's also on the list of cars I'd love to own someday, I hoped from that day forward I would stop growing. God has since seemed to heed my wish.
Yeah there's not a lot of things that are great about being short as a guy, but fitting comfortably in sports cars and economy class airplane seats are top of the list.
Autozam swapped with a powerful bike motor like from a Hayabusa with a turbo would be absolutely insane.
Ive seen it done with smart cars and its hilarious
Oh if I had money for a Sera it would definitely be my daily. I believe it shares a powertrain with the Tercel so parts will be (somewhat) easy to find.
Same here. The idea of driving it everyday pushes me to one of these two. Don’t see the Az1 being driven everyday. Props to others who would push that though.
Had one in NZ as a paddock basher back in the day before I could drive. Transmission was fucked so my old man picked it up for $500 since they weren’t really worth anything then. Absolutely loved whipping it around in the fields and have some core memories of my dad teaching me a little bit about off-roading. I’d get one just for the nostalgia value.
I own a Copen and am 6' 3" tall; I "fit into it" (even though there is only a single seat position that works for me) and can even wear a cap when the roof is closed. :D RHD is recommended, because you have more space for your left foot.
#3. I'm taking that Chan Clan Van, my man.
PS: before the racism remarks come pouring in, "The Chan Clan" is an old cartoon I loved as a kid, where they had a van like that which could transform into other things at the press of a button to help them solve mysteries.
I'm going with the Honda Beat. However that Alto looks like a European specification, which means it is too large to be a Kei-car, and made in India not Japan.
I'm surprised at the lack of love. I tried the Daihatsu equivalent and loved it, felt like the cockpit of a cheap plastic fighter plane. My poor little knees and spine locked up and I couldn't get out.
At work we have a white HiJet (2nd pic) a white Honda just like it, and a white Honda van like that in the 3rd pic. I can technically drive them with my 6'3" 240lb frame, but it's not fun. About like riding a gocart. If one of them had a few more inches of leg room, I'd drive any of them.
The tiny Mitsubishi, not quite sure the model. Also almost sure I won't fit being 6'6" but I really want a Pajero Evo and that's the closest in the list 😅
I like the concept of the pajero mini. Car companies should just start making tiny versions of their cars. I want a Shelby GT350 mini, or a Volvo S60 wagon mini.
This is tough! I'd love an S660, as it's likely the most comfortable and usable, with modern tech (they only went out of production in 2022), though I'd probably kick myself for passing up that Jimny.
HiJet for "My Dad had one" Nostalgia (850cc so technically not Kei spec, white exterior, but those same baby poo brown vinyl seats).
S660 because it;s relatively new, everything still works and it won't be a resto project, because if you think any unrestored 90s japanese kei car isn't mostly a collection of iron oxide held together by paint, hopes and dreams that will need attention sooner or later..well you're in for a rude awakening.
I already have a Cappucino in the garage that I'm taking apart, so trust me on this..
Honestly, I'd say the S660. New enough to have parts available and modern enough to be comfortable to drive every day. A lot of older Kei cars are having their parts discontinued since they're considered disposable overseas.
[None of them, unfortunately](https://www.reddit.com/r/keitruck/s/QZTKkdRFIK)... AAMVA got to our provincial motor vehicle registration bureaucrats too. Heard it from the horse's mouth. Unlike Massachusetts, ours haven't outright forbidden kei trucks / cars but require certification from an automotive engineer that it is suitable for use on public roads and "there isn't a single engineer in the whole province who is going to do that."
Edit: If I thought I could actually register one for the road, the Pajero Mini, definitely. It was the vehicle I had in mind when I reached out to the registrar of motor vehicles and had my depressing conversation.
That HiJet van is brown enough for me. Round headlights too. 550cc engine and a four speed and it's wound out of breath by 35mph I'm sure. Perfect beach day cruiser and grocery getter. Not gonna confuse it with ANYTHING else on the road although parking in between a couple Desert Sand Mica Tacomas could hide it for a few minutes.
Daihatsu hijet. Easley the most practical. Haul the family and able to do 90% of farm things I need to do. Got tractor and old 69 chevy pickup for the rest.
Honda S660 actually looks kinda cool. Make a great daily driver for me to get to work and still able to park in between all the SUVs that all these moms have to have to feel cool.
I would pick the Autozam AZ-1 but I don’t think I can fit it the car (never been in one so I can’t confirm I’m just guessing). I’d choose the Honda S660 instead. I love the look of that little car. Especially in yellow
That’s why being not tall as a car guy is a good thing! I can fit in stuff (I’ve fit in the back seat of a Porsche 911 before)
lol I’m 6 foot and I fit in the back of an 89’ Cavalier convertible with 3 other teenagers somehow. I tell my kids that story now when they’re complaining about not having enough room in my Corolla, which I’ve also rode in the back seat of.
Hahaha, we shoved 9 people into the cab of my 69 chevy pickup to go to the drive in. Crazy kids.
I remember being like 4 or 5 and riding in the bed of my grandpas pickup lol. Today that would be a one way ticket to jail with CPS called in to boot.
Yup. I now have a 4x6 on the front seat of that pickup that serves as a booster for my kids.
We used to smuggle people in trunks of cars to get into hillclimb (atv&bikes) events. Once you got through the gate and parked away from the entrance you’d let everyone out and hope nobody noticed you “lost” your wristband. Lmao.

I’ve never ridden in a Prius lol, but I can sit in the back seat with an inch or 2 of clearance in my Corolla. It is an older one though so it’s a lot smaller than the last few generations.
The Corolla is decently roomy, especially for its size lol
The leg room isn’t great in back but the seat itself is pretty big. My biggest kid is 4’9” though so they have no reason to be complaining lol. There is a whole lot more room back there than I had in that cavalier that technically only had 2 seats in back and was encroached by the arms for the roof.
I wear size 12 shoes, I can't drive small manuals, I have to take my shoes off to drive my wife's Chevy Prisma.
I’m 6’2” and have squoze in the back of an RSX several times. I’m also fat lol
Autozam swapped with a powerful bike motor like from a Hayabusa with a turbo would be absolutely insane. Ive seen it done with smart cars and its hilarious
I was thinking more NA rotary swap. Get an NA 13B or Renesis and make that thing scream into the 5 digit RPMs.
It looks just like a Ford RS200 https://youtu.be/FDPRQ6gVVX0?si=3hH5ExLvveleR_MZ
I like it, but I'd rather have a Toyota Sera. Similar door design (not gull doors but similar), glass canopy, and cool looking.
Oh if I had money for a Sera it would definitely be my daily. I believe it shares a powertrain with the Tercel so parts will be (somewhat) easy to find.
Subaru Sambar or Honda S660. My heart wants the AZ-1 though.
Same here. The idea of driving it everyday pushes me to one of these two. Don’t see the Az1 being driven everyday. Props to others who would push that though.
Pajero
Hands down easy choice.
If I can fit into it, either the Daihatsu Copen or the Honda S660.
I own a Copen and am 6' 3" tall; I "fit into it" (even though there is only a single seat position that works for me) and can even wear a cap when the roof is closed. :D RHD is recommended, because you have more space for your left foot.
I’m taking the lil van
It’s so cute I want to cuddle it and kiss it
I'm calling it the bedford rascal jp edition. And I'm with you.
No Capuccino?
I WILL own a hyabusa swapped cappuccino one day.
Hayabusa or Rotary; I hope to see your wish come true.
I'm 6'7. I guess I'll take the Honda Beat. I'll look like donkey kong while driving it, but at least I can fit in it if I keep the top down
Beat over all
OK, but which car would you pick when you're done?...
Lol nice
I'm 6ft5, I wouldn't fit in any but the Autozam AZ1 always peaked my fancy!
I'm 6'. I don't think you'll fit in the AZ-1
I'm taking that Subaru Sambar and I'm driving it until I die.
The Honda 👍
There's more than one Honda?
Do I have to daily drive it as my primary or only vehicle? Probably the Alto. Weekend fun car? Either Honda.
i could use a little truck. The first one looks a LOT less deathy though.
SAMBAR
Pajero Mini should be a fucking lovely vehicle.
#3. I'm taking that Chan Clan Van, my man. PS: before the racism remarks come pouring in, "The Chan Clan" is an old cartoon I loved as a kid, where they had a van like that which could transform into other things at the press of a button to help them solve mysteries.
Ooo, remember Turbo Teen??
Yes I remember Turbo Teen. I would prefer not to ride a teenage boy through town.
S660
6. I love that little Honda
S660, Copen, or AZ-1
I'm going with the Honda Beat. However that Alto looks like a European specification, which means it is too large to be a Kei-car, and made in India not Japan.
Sambar all day.
I'm surprised at the lack of love. I tried the Daihatsu equivalent and loved it, felt like the cockpit of a cheap plastic fighter plane. My poor little knees and spine locked up and I couldn't get out.
AUTOZAM \*beet\* AUTOZAM \*beep\* AUTOZAM
Subaru Sambar pickup all the way....does 95% of the things all these lifted douche canoe pickups can do.
None. Gimme a ‘rado on A/T wildpeaks with a 3”lift and a fuel bumper kit. Oh, and don’t forget the Miller high life in my left hand.
If I were to see a yellow one for sale I wouldn't skip a Beat.
bruh those suzuki altos are fuckin awful. they’re here in the uk and my 92’ mini is better equipped (and soundproofed, and safe)
Pajero mini or Honda S660
The Mitsubishi
The Beat. That triple sounds incredible.
Theres a fucking pajero mini!?! That mini nsx is always a top contender
Honda beat for sure
Beat by far. Zebra seats and ITBs? Yes please
HIJET by far.
Subaru Sambar for utility.
Pajero Mini, Jimny close second
Any of the 4WD Kei trucks, they are super useful, capable and I'd have no need to take it anywhere near a highway.
S660/ autozam/ Copen. In that order
Which one would you most likely survive in if you were t-boned by a modern Nissan Altima at 60mph?
S660. Autozam close second.
I would take both the S660 and the Beat
Mazda AZ-1
I actually like the Subaru Sambar
Az-1 all the way
Honda Beat! 😍
Hijet. But I'm a van man so that's sort of a given.
Pajero Mini, roads here ain't that good and this little thing is just adorable
I like the Honda S660 but the Suburu Sambar would be really useful.
Off course the mini pajero
NOT the Alto, that's for sure. Maybe Az1 or Pajero Mini
Subaru Sambar. Such a practical vehicle. Too practical for the U.S. apparently. I want one, yet I can't get one.
The Honda S660, only because I know I don't fit in an Autozam.
Auto ZAMN! Its so small and its superfun to drive. Plus weirdly stylish and unique
Autozam my beloved
Sambar, Hijet or Pajero. Someone in town has an old Honda Raccoon. I want it so badly.
Gimme that mini Ferrari
I want that Daihatsu Hijet. It's the sexiest shit brick I've ever seen.
S660 (sportiest) or Copen (cutest)
Number 1 or number 7
S660 all the way
Normally I'd go for the Beat or the S660, but the Jimny Pickup is just the right kind of weird.
Autozam cause I’m secretly a TikTokker and Melanie Martinez fan that really want to know what my choice in cars says about me.
The tiny Mitsubishi, not quite sure the model. Also almost sure I won't fit being 6'6" but I really want a Pajero Evo and that's the closest in the list 😅
Subaru Sambar
I like the concept of the pajero mini. Car companies should just start making tiny versions of their cars. I want a Shelby GT350 mini, or a Volvo S60 wagon mini.
the pajero
I actually daily a Pajero Mini. So Pajero.
The second one, I’ve always wanted one of those tiny trucks!
660. Mini NSX is cool
Honda beat or pajero
It depends on the budget but Suzuki Alto is a well known car in some countries and you can't go wrong with that one
I’d like the s660
that mini truck and van look fucking sweet.
Autozam easily. Lancia vibes.
AZ-1 without a doubt. One of my dream cars. Unfortunately I’ll probably never get to own one
I do like Pajero Jrs.
it isnt fair to the others if you include the az1 lol
Beat Beat Beat Beat Beat Beat but only if it has the phone dial wheels and stock zebra print seats
Autozam AZ-1 but the van is a VERY close second
That pajero mini looks adorable
S660
Heart for the Autozam, brain for the S660.
Copen's a cutie, but there's no way my corn-fed american ass is squeezing into it
Honda S660 hands down
SUBARU SAMBAR 🔛🔝🗣️🗣️🗣️
Autozam an jimny because both have versions of their engines that were sold in the usa!
Stuck between 2 and 7.
The az-1 for no good reason
the az1 just for the gullwing doors
Autozam my beloved
1 or 2
This is tough! I'd love an S660, as it's likely the most comfortable and usable, with modern tech (they only went out of production in 2022), though I'd probably kick myself for passing up that Jimny.
Pajero mini or the honda acty van
The Copen! Always been a Daihatsu man 🤣
I'd love the sports cars but I wouldn't fit in any of them. So the Jimny or Hijet it is!
Subaru. It looks like a useful bed length.
For me, The Hijet: That vintage Brown look that makes everyone go "Did Chrysler design that?"
Whatever number 6 is, that's what I'm choosing.
Personally, I'd have the Pajero. Smol and very capable.
Sambar. Especially if someone makes a camper shell to fit it
Lmao I drive a Suzuki alto and was not expecting to see it here x)
lowkey the alto, i think its cute and a good daily
Autozam AZ1
The van
Either honda or autozam, the autozam def
Beat cause I’ve always loved these little Kei sport coupes and with it being convertible I don’t have to worry about headroom.
Honestly, I would either be the s660 or the Samba. Autozam while soo cool- I would want to drive it everyday, would be content with the s660.
Easy, number 4.
The S660, as it's the only one you can't import to the US besides the Alto and Copen.
Don’t make me choose between a 660 and a ‘Zam!
ONLY ONE?!?!? DAMMIT!!! I want the Subaru Sambar and the Autozam… FINE!!! I’ll just H2R-swap the Sambar…
Jimny!
Honestly, I'd say the S660. New enough to have parts available and modern enough to be comfortable to drive every day. A lot of older Kei cars are having their parts discontinued since they're considered disposable overseas.
Gotta go with the baby VW Bus knock off.
[None of them, unfortunately](https://www.reddit.com/r/keitruck/s/QZTKkdRFIK)... AAMVA got to our provincial motor vehicle registration bureaucrats too. Heard it from the horse's mouth. Unlike Massachusetts, ours haven't outright forbidden kei trucks / cars but require certification from an automotive engineer that it is suitable for use on public roads and "there isn't a single engineer in the whole province who is going to do that." Edit: If I thought I could actually register one for the road, the Pajero Mini, definitely. It was the vehicle I had in mind when I reached out to the registrar of motor vehicles and had my depressing conversation.
Yes
Pajero Mini because something about little hatches with aggressive off road styling is adorable to me.
Honda Acty any day of the week
Autozam
That HiJet van is brown enough for me. Round headlights too. 550cc engine and a four speed and it's wound out of breath by 35mph I'm sure. Perfect beach day cruiser and grocery getter. Not gonna confuse it with ANYTHING else on the road although parking in between a couple Desert Sand Mica Tacomas could hide it for a few minutes.
The Ferrari f40
Pajero Mini. Primarily because it means “Pequeño Masturbador” in my country.
I'll take the hijet for practicality alone. Especially if it is the 4wd version.
Daihatsu hijet. Easley the most practical. Haul the family and able to do 90% of farm things I need to do. Got tractor and old 69 chevy pickup for the rest.
Suzuki Samurai pickup. [https://www.ebay.com/itm/176033214513](https://www.ebay.com/itm/176033214513)
Honestly that little Hijet would be pretty nice
A fried Of mine say that in Puerto Rico people are buying the Suzuki Jimny and the Subaru sambar to use for deliveries.
I had a Suzuki Samurai and would rather have another one.
Hard to choose between 6 and 7, both are peak
AZ-1 easily
the dihatsu hijet
Miata 1500%
Going with the miniature vanagon
Az1 anyday
I already have a Kei truck. But I would love an Autozam AZ-1 if they weren’t so ungodly expensive.
I’ll take 1 because it looks like it can rip around small dirt roads
Get a Toyota bb 4wd or the bb pickup lol these don't have a real engine or drivetrain. Thank me later.
Without even scrolling, I’m taking the kei truck
Cappuccino or beat didnt look at all of them but those are my top 2 kei car picks.
The cabover. Most useful.
Pajero mini
Either the autozam or the pajero because of the familiarity of it, my dad used to own a Pajero (abet not a mini but a larger Pajero)
I'm 6'5" but I'd want an autozam. I'd probably only fit in the hijet. The S660 is a definite as well.
Picture 7 ☝🏼
S660 or Autozam
The last one looks like those clown cars where 8 clowns come out of
I'd choose the S660 if it means I'd get to drive it on the roads legally
I would get the Hijet. Looks fun for road trips!
Obviously the jimny is this even a question?!?!
S660, Beat, Autozam, Pajero Mini in that order.
Dihatsu Hijet
AZ1 or the Honda Beat
No 3. Hands down. That mini bus is EPIC.
I’m disappointed that a brown Toyota Town ace van isn’t on this list
Honda S660 actually looks kinda cool. Make a great daily driver for me to get to work and still able to park in between all the SUVs that all these moms have to have to feel cool.
Give me a Kei Truck.
I would pick the Autozam AZ-1 but I don’t think I can fit it the car (never been in one so I can’t confirm I’m just guessing). I’d choose the Honda S660 instead. I love the look of that little car. Especially in yellow
Either the red one or the little tan van
That S660 is really cool looking, I’d drive one if it’s got the performance and handling down Edit: autozam Aswell, that thing kicks butt on looks
I want the white pickup, what is it and can I get one?
3
AZ1
