Yes, season 1 and 2 are the best. No, I like that direction the show is going because there was a limit to how long this show could be in "season 1 or 2"
Some of the best episodes of the show have come after those seasons, and I would even argue the serialization and characterization has dramatically improved since then. The show had to move on, I just want it to be compelling and well written at this point.
Exactly. Pretty easy for a show to become too formulaic after too long of the same. Adventure shows like this do good to find their footing and evolve in a way that makes sense. I think R&M has done a great job at this.
I feel like the first two seasons of any show are the strongest. Then after that, the quality seems to go slowly down. I like the vintage Rick & Morty shows, where it was just Rick and his grandson going on crazy absurdist adventures. There's still some of that, but the show feels different now.
I have to disagree with you on that, I think shows get better and more polished as the seasons progress. There’s a lot of shows (cartoons and live action) that hit their peak in the later seasons.
If the episode is a direct parody of an old sci fi movie, it's immediately a watch only once episode. Mad Max parody sucked, Avengers parody sucked, Jurrasic Park parody sucked. Best episode ever, or ever will be, is the decoy episode. This is 100% what I mean by "classic" Rick and Morty adventure. It's such a great episode, you don't even know your not watching the real Rick and Morty.
Is that you fascist morty?
I like Mr Meeseeks
“Mr Meeseeks kill this guy!”
“Kill this Nazi pric!”
I'm so sick of that note WHAT DOES IT EVEN MEAN?!?
What does that actually mean? Explain it. I bet you can't.

What makes them classic?
hindsight bias mostly
Four seasons from now people will be crying for classic season 6 adventures again…
He’s so sick of that note. What does that even mean?
Amazing how many people got mad at this post

As soon as you all stop asking about this, the chance of another pickle Rick skyrockets

I always like the random adventure more than the canon storyline, even rick always undermines all the canon episodes lol

Both. Both is good.

Lol, things took a turn after beth hooked up with space beth.

You mean the early episodes where Justin roiland did a lot of the writing?
Except he didn’t…
He really
No, no one else.
what the fuck does that even mean? -Rick
Finally. Rick and Morty has some dense fans.
