I've heard her music. It's okay, but really not rockabilly. There were a lot of women who worked in music back in the day, not sure why this angle is pushed so hard all the time. Ever hear of the Carter family? Mary Ford? Sparkle Moore? Patsy Montana? Rose Maddox? Lorrie Collins? Mimi Roman? If you want to make this argument for someone, I would choose Mimi Roman as a better subject. And Janis Martin was an excellent rocker right when Elvis was blowing up, with the songs to prove it. I believe that a child had out of wedlock when she was still a teen stalled her career, though I may have the facts a little wrong. But she was justifiably labelled the "female Elvis" at the time.
