OkFact3501

Very suspiciously low

DingyWarehouse

The picture is not even of the correct model

jsli604

A lot of ppl call it “Batman on jubilee”, not everyone calls it a Batgirl

RaceFan90

The picture is of the current gen, not the 116 version listed

Business-Ad-5178

lol, you're an idiot. 126710 is what is pictured, not a 116710. This has nothing to with batman vs batgirl lol.

shitmusicmaker2021

seems nice calling everyone an asshole, asshole

jsli604

some ppl are relentless, oof. I didn’t really pay attention to the watch itself, I just saw the word Batman and the jubilee bracelet then just assumed that was the wrong watch. That would be my mistake, guess I’m an idiot 🙃

Statement_Swimming

Pardon the ignorance as I’m still learning, but isn’t the retail for these $10,900?

ManufacturerFit7087

Don't worry about asking. As a result of medium supply and incredibly high demand, most desirable rolex watches are not readily available at an authorised dealer. Instead, you have to put your name on a "waiting list" to show your interest. After several years, you might get lucky and be offered a watch that you can buy. If you don't want to wait you can buy the watch from other market places like chrono24 or others...eg. fb mp...but those are offered at the real market value, which might in some cases be double the list price for the gmt II models. So yes this price would be incredibly low even though it is above the list price.

itsROLEXtime

Yes, plus tax is the price he’s asking… Still reference number doesn’t match his listing

sporturawus

Doesn't matter as no one but VIP's can get them at list price. There are 300 people on waiting lists at every authorized dealer and they only get 8-10 pieces per year. The current asking price for a GMT Batman on Jubilee in the secondary market is $17,000+

gumboyaya87

watch pictured is a 126710 - notice the crown between Swiss and made

Southern_Law1801

How does the crown reveal that information?

gumboyaya87

Not the crown for winding - the coronet logo between Swiss and made at six o’clock

Southern_Law1801

Correct, I see it. I’m just trying to understand how that reveals it’s a 126710. Also what does 126710 represent? Is that the movement mechanism? (New to this and seeking knowledge)

gumboyaya87

It does represent that. Mainly it represents it’s an older model of the same reference. Not sure when they updated this reference but the 116710 most likely has smaller power reserve etc. the older reference dials do not have the coronet between Swiss and made

Southern_Law1801

Got it, thanks for the insight! Very interesting learning how in depth these watches get.

teggos

Its the reference number 116710blnr is an older model with the last gen movement called 3185 the watch on the photo is the newer one (or trys to be one) 126710blnr with the 3285 caliber And the 116710 never came on the jubilee bracelet if 'm right, another hint that its an 126

yld2rob

Your Spidey senses should be going off. Be very very careful. That price sounds too good to be true

Separate_Street_651

I second the suspiciously low sentiment. Stay away. No easy way to check if it’s authentic unfortunately. But asking the seller to meet at an AD and verify it’s a gen, should be your next step. If he declines, you have your answer.

FrescoIX

Are ADs willing to do this?

bsiu

Unless AD has an in house watchmaker on site (most don’t) they probably can’t tell the fakes either.

Saltybutwet

The ADs are not going to do it, no way. Unless they take the watch apart and verify everything is legit. If the AD verify it's legit w/out taking it apart and if it turns out to be fake? Is the AD going to take on that responsibility? I don't think so. And why would the person selling the watch, even if it's legit, let you/AD take his watch apart to verify authenticity? What if after everything checks out and you say "no, I change my mind and don't want to buy it now"?

Separate_Street_651

One can change their mind on buying, but one shouldn’t be selling fake watches as gens. Nobody should fork out $10k+ on an unauthenticated watch.

top-hunnit

Try this and let us know!

Krapule1

If i was ever to buy a rolex it would never be on Facebook lol

[deleted]

Seriously who tf is dropping that much cash on FB

Thersabugonmytv

I’ve bought like 6 cars on FB lmao you usually meet in person

[deleted]

I’ve never heard of a counterfeit car

Krapule1

😂😂😂

Thersabugonmytv

You said who dropping that much cash on FB…. It’s me lmao I’ve spent 10x this on “Facebook”

Krapule1

Bruhhhhhh 😂😂 a car ?? You know damn well what im talking bout

themaxvee

Scam. Never buy a watch from Facebook. FB Marketplace is for buying a leaf blower.

shemademedoit

I think a proper vetting of the seller is required here, with a requirement to do an in-person inspection and pick up.

Hawk947

Well, the ad is already gone. So he either sold it in the last 12 hours or it was a scam. Good info here though, so thank you all for the review.

Red_Terminator

Shady. Don’t look for watches on fb market. Always buy from an AD or trusted seller. There was a guy on TRF who just got scammed out of $14k…because he tried to save a couple of bucks…don’t be that guy.

GuardOk8631

It didn’t sell lol

Hawk947

Yes, definitely. I am going to suggest we meet at an AD for an inspection since I am definitely not an expert.

shemademedoit

I’ve found most ADs won’t do that on the spot and it takes time for them to inspect. I’d proactively reach out to third party stores to see which one do. Does it come with box and more importantly, papers? If not, maybe the price reflects that.

Hawk947

Thank you. The ad shows box and papers (and a few more pics which I didn't include here) . I'll try and get more info from the seller. They have an actual FB profile and do not appear to be some bot, but you never know if they've been hacked. I have a friend who owns a jewelry store (not an AD) who told me if I'm ready to buy a Rolex, he can connect me with some trusted friends in the industry. He might be able to help here.

shemademedoit

wow that's awesome! good luck with your purchase, crossing my fingers for you. I've been on the hunt for a jubilee bracelet (already have a couple oyster bracelets). lucky this one comes with it.

Hawk947

Thanks! I'll update after I get more info.

LividLab7

In the future know that most ADs wont do this and also vast majority of them wouldn’t know what to look for. You’d have a better shot posting pics of the watch once in hand to watch and rep watch subs

stirbo1980

***RUN AWAY ASAP***

gatesofhellmentor

Any Rolex on FB Marketplace should immediately be suspect. The date window doesn't look right.

citdawg2012

Probs fake. Could always buy at dealer post authentication

Bkdoorburglar

There’s a lot of suspicious stuff on this add. Wrong reference number and wrong nickname. The asking price is just about what retail plus tax is give or take a few bucks depending on state and county. ADs do not authenticate watches. Only Rolex service centers will do that. If it’s too good to be true……

Old_Yogurt_5281

As a reptimer I'd mostly focus on the serial number and presence of free sprung balance.

rawdawg33

In the photo this is a 126710BLNR. Red flag.

sporturawus

Run away from this. This is what scammers do. They underprice the watch by a few thousand hoping to find someone so desperate for the watch that they throw away all semblance of common sense.

EnvironmentalLab5266

It’s really not that nice anymore, kind of over desired.

gymrattttz

Doesn't the jubilee make it a batgirl and not a Batman or am I just that hungover this morning 🤔

Mbyrnes123

That is a 126710 reference which makes the process even more suspicious….

iAbstruse

Too good to be true. I would do a thorough check, aligned rehaut, 20x zoom check, check free sprung weights, font, etc.

lakersbro55

Buying a Rolex on FB marketplace is a no go. Don’t ever do it. There is zero buyer protection and most of the time it’s either fake or stolen. Note the really low price for it. There’s tons of places you buy this watch online. Even eBay has some form of authentic guarantee and buyer protection in case it is a fake. Buy from a really reputable dealer that has been vetted or at the very least eBay….avoid FB marketplace, Craigslist, etc

GuardOk8631

What will it take for people realize fb marketplace is a cesspool

GuardOk8631

This post is why scamming works lol. Stop QUESTIONING and start being 100% confident that it is bull shit and quit putting your energy into it. The people who go along with the scams and ask “well if they’re going to give me a cashiers check then how is it a scam” are even DUMBER than the scammer…. Does anybody need me to slap them so they wake up from their dream before getting scammed? I’ll gladly do it for you…

crbrown91

I saw this. He has a new profile too, dude. It’s a dead giveaway.

Hawk947

The one posted yesterday was not a new profile. The guy had years of profile pics up and people commenting on it. I wasn't looking for a Rolex in marketplace, it just showed up in my news feed. It is gone now though.

Addicted-2Diving

Way too low. Scammer.

mudz112

Fake - buy from a trusted source.

utfgispa

99.9% a scam, bait and switch, or it was stolen. Unless the guy is willing to meet at a reputable watch maker that will open it up and verify its legit i would stay away.

GlitteringHold8685

Suspiciously low!!! Go grey (reputable) if you can’t AD it

authoruk

Lol

Kind_Astronomer_9395

Dude. No AD is going to authenticate a watch for you. That’s ridiculous. No trusted dealer will do it either unless they’re considering buying it themselves. Why would they give away their time and services to save you money? You want a watch authenticated you’re going to pay a watchmaker for their time. Also this is a rep. Blue AR on Cyclopes looks wrong.

BroRobbo

If pawn stars has taught me anything. Offer 3 k and buy it for 6 🤣🤣🤣

Brehski

Fake.

No-Jelly7026

Why would anyone buy a Rolex from FB marketplace?? Place is already a cesspool of scammers.  Buy from AD or pay up a bit and get from well-vetted grey dealer.

ImaKant

Bad fake

[deleted]

This is either fake or a scammer . Price is Waaaaay too low

No-Craft546

Scam fake shit

Whynot20019

If it’s too good to be true…..

david9876543212

It’s a Batgirl not a Batman….
