To me, it sounds like a decent bit was just a knee-jerk reaction (understandably so) and then most came around. But no doubt Byrne making such a good hire so quickly kept things together. Plus having vets like Jalen and even a newcomer like Domani saying they weren’t going anywhere
I love Malachi and he has been such a great representative for us. Stayed on while Branch took his starting job and then Branch has a successful rookie NFL year, so it was obviously the right move by Saban to start Branch. Malachi kinda has a Hurts type career. Will always be loved by the Gumps
Most definitely! I remember thinking when he was a freshman that he was gonna be the next minkah, but he’s had some growing pains and it was probably an unfair expectation considering how gifted Minkah is…
But when it comes to gumps, he’s one of the ones I love the most, he really wants to play for bama and it shows. Love that shit this day and age.
Pretty expected. The literal GOAT of college football leaves with no blatant heir apparent. It’s expected.
It’s a sign of a good program, top down, that prevents a disaster.
I’m trying not to add extra pressure for this season, but God, I hope we get to the playoffs.
I just don’t want the narrative to be “Alabama is nothing without Saban.” And watch the fans turn on the new coach if we lose to Wisconsin or similar.
If they can just put together a 10-2 or even 11-1, I would feel really good about the future.
If that happens, Milroe could go down as my favorite Bama player ever, cause I truly think he has kept the majority of this team together when most want to bolt.

This place, at this point in time, is just a void of uncertainty and grieving. Probably how the team felt when they lost their legendary coach. So all we can do is wait, sit back and watch what happens. Unfortunately, it will never be the Saban era again. College football will never be the same as it was last year, just like it wasn't the same 20 years ago. I hope this team does great, they've done a good job from recovering. But they have alot more to deal with than losing a coach. Things are changing fast.
